The food is always excellent and thoughtfully prepared with local ingredients. They have a great wine list with servers that know their wines and since they have a nretailer's license, you can purchase the wines. The restaurant's service is outstanding even with the crush of crowds during Masters week. While most restaurants offer a very limited menu during Masters Week, Frog Hollow continued to offer their full menu and offered some special small plates and special main courses. Prompt attention by the server never faltered. The restaurant itself is clearly the "place to be" during Masters week and they feature several attractive dining rooms and a lively bar. Server was fantastic and the menu recomendations were great. It was a small world as we had dined in restaurants he had managed and we knew some of the same people in our home towns.
My only dissapointment, I did not like the Farrow side dish that came with my entree. After telling the server, he asked if I wanted something else, and he recomended the Mac & Cheese, which I accepted. The Mac & Cheese was great, but I was dissapointed when he charged me for it. Now I can afford a $7.00 side dish but it was the fact he offered it but did not tell me about the charge. The food is wonderful and the service excellant. Especially the young blond waitress that works the room with the window table.My only complaint is I made my reservation a long time ago on open table, specificly asked fo the table window in the quieter room called and reconfirmed twice for time and location. I realize it was Masters Week and I had out of town guests. When we arrived I was given a lame excuse by the hostess that the table I asked for months ago was given to another. I replied that I reconfirmed this last night and was answered we do the best we can. The waitress was wonderful, I wish I could remember her name. She gave us informative menu details regarding the specials and food we were thinking about ordering,and suggested drink pairings for our selections. She knew exactly where the food we were ordering came from, which is my favorite thing about farm to table dining. At the end of the night, my husband said, "I wonder if they are just that nice to people celbrating something." I asked if he told them it was a special occasion, he did not.
