  • "First time dining at this restaurant. Four of us enjoyed King Crab legs (exceptional), Veal Chop, Ahi appetizer, Sea Bass & Lobster. The food was cooked to perfection and the presentation was fantastic. We're booking another reservation while we are still on vacation here in South Lake Tahoe. We were very pleased with the wine selection. I think that the only down-side was the glare from the sun. Whereas the restaurant has a gorgeous view with strategically placed see-through window filters, the sun was so strong and I had a glare in my face the entire meal (and the radiating heat could not be compensated by the air conditioning: we were warm!)"

  • "They were helpful and quick in rearranging my seating when my party of 6 became a party of 3. The view is great but the food was not special for a steakhouse. The service was fine but not outstanding. The price certainly was not modest. I think it is a good place for a special occasion but not up to outstanding steakhouses."

  • "We've been to Fridays Station many times in our thirty years of travel to Lake Tahoe. We love to take friends for the view, but everyone wants to return for the great food and service. Bob, the manager, always greets us and sees to it that we have a great table with a view of the lake at sunset. It's worth the trip every time. It's a red meat place but there are lots of seafood choices as well. During Summer months, a table at 8:30 will get you a beautiful view of the sunset over Lake Tahoe. Not cheap, but worth the price!"

  • "A very special anniversary was mentioned, but ignored. Never noted. Don't expect any special instructions or requests to be acknowledged. The food was good and our server Kelly was wonderful, just really disappointed in our corner roof view and lack of any follow through. Why do you ask if you don't don't advise employees? When we told our server, she brought us a nice treat, and apologized she was not aware. --Via online reservation. The restaurant is pretty noisy--if you are seeking romantic ambiance, but the food was really good. One of the few restaurants in town we'd actually refer people to...having lived on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe for over 23 years."

  • "Menu is limited, some items cooked great some just so so. Can't get tartar sauce with fish. We liked to come here for BD and special times, but think we might look around for a new place. Cost is very high for what your get."

  • "We had dinner here 38 years ago while on our honeymoon. It wasn't the same restaurant. We missed having a hot spinach salad fixed right at our table and then the crepe Suzettes for dessert. Overall, however, it was very good. The bus person seemed more interested in pleasing us than did the waitress. My husband ordered a salad and there was a ladybug in it!!! Of course, we got a new one -- or did we really???"

  • "We were hoping for a better table. Bob sat us at probably the worse table in the restaurant...right by the entry. Really no view at all. We had made a reservation later in the evening hoping we would get a better one. On a more positive note, our waiter, Tony, was wonderful and food was delicious."

  • "Visiting Friday's Station has been a staple of mine for well over 10 years and I'm just now getting around to writing about it! When the lights, sounds and craziness of Harrah's casino drives you mad and you want a quiet place to relax, have a wonderful meal and take in an amazing view, Friday's Station is your ticket. The service is par excellence and the wine menu is excellent! Then there's the food...my God, amazing. One of the finest steaks you'll ever have."

  • "My husband and I dined here as a special treat for my 60th birthday. We splurged and ordered the King crab -- $72 for the dish, which came with rice pilaf. I asked that a baked potato be substituted for the rice and was told "the chef insists that we charge $6 for the substitution." What, because we aren't already paying enough for the meal?!? The restaurant is beautiful, the view is world class, and the food is very, very good. But the penny-pinching attitude spoiled what should have been a classier dining experience. The restaurant was gracious enough to comp us dessert because it was my birthday, but any good will that would have fostered was cancelled out by the resentment generated by the silly $6 charge. Just plain tacky."

  • "We just celebrated our 32 wedding anniversity with fine dining at Fridays Station. Our dining experience was very good. We were sat quickly and all the staff were extremely polite and proactive to all our needs. As i requested we were giving a window table with a very beautiful of the South Lake Tahoe Skyline and the lake. The restaurant feel was elegant and our food was great! For such a great place the food prices were easy on my wallet. The great food and fantastic Service is what keeps us coming back year after year. Since we live in Grass Valley its quite a drive, but well worth it. It my wifes favorite place and thats saying something since we travel a lot. See you next year and probably again this summer."

  • "When the food is this bad the view doesn't matter. This place used to be amazing. I don't know what happened but when you end up comping 3 of the 6 entrees ordered because they were unedible something is wrong. The prices are Sky high and the quality and service are way low."

  • "The restaurant is substantially overpriced. My companion had the chilean sea bass which she thought was beautifully cooked but was a very small portion. I had the mixed grill. The meats (double lamb chop, a short rib and a sausage was very good) but sadly the veggies with it came to the table luke-warm and undercooked (and I like my veggies crispy). The molten chocolate was delicious but barely molten. I probably should have had a steak, but they all looked grossly over priced. "

  • "Four of us had reservations at 7:15. We decided to meet at the bar at 6:30 for cocktails. At 7:00 I checked us in at the podium to and let them know we would be in the bar. 7:30 came and went so my wife went to see when our table would be ready. Apparently we had already been "checked off". We were seated immediately. The food was very good. The prime rib may have been the best I've ever had. The service from our waitress was a little bit lacking. She was very friendly and knowledgable but didn't seem to check on us very much. For dessert, the cappuccino martini was incredible! We've been here before and will return again. Hopefully the service will be a little better next time. "

  • "My husband and I dined at Friday's Station with friends (another couple). Each of us was very happy with the evening. My husband raved about the lamb chops, our friends loved their prime rib. I was delighted with the vegetable melange. I had also ordered the mushroom feuillette, which was wonderful. We had previously made a point to dine at the Summit each time we visited Tahoe. Since Harrah's has closed the Summit, we will very likely make Friday's Station our restaurant of choice from now on."

  • "We spend a lot of time in South Lake Tahoe, and this was the first time dining here. The first words that come to mind to describe it are "very expensive." Dinner is $50-$70/plate. Don't get me wrong, I'm cool with spending a lot of money for a meal (for a treat), but I want the first words to come to mind to be "wow, what a great dinner" - not how much it cost. We understand everything needs to be a little more expensive up there, but this was excessive. The food was averagely good, not exceptional. Daily fish seemed fresh. Steak was nice quality meat. The service was fine - not attentive, but not bad either. Average meal, average service, great view, high price. "

  • " We were completely disappointed with the food. My husband ordered the filet mignon which was dry and overcooked. The mashed potatoes were cold:>( "

  • "We have gone to this restaurant a few times and the food is hit and miss. Most the time it's great but occasionally it's not. The issue is it's quite pricey and fixed, so you pay for what you order and pray it's an 'on day' for the cook. The one thing you can't beat is the view. If you request a take lake side you can see the beautiful lake at South Lake Tahoe. If you are lucky enough to get in at the right time we always try to make our reservation about an hour before sunset - that way we can enjoy watching the sunset over the lake during our meal. Friday's Station also has a vast wine list!!"

  • "Friday's Station is a great dining experience, not just because of the beautiful view of the lake from the 18th floor, but also because of the superior service and professional staff. The menu has a great selection and the chefs create delicious diners to accompany the awesome Tahoe sunset."

  • "Food & service has been much better on my many previous visits. The curt service was probably due to being Memorial holiday & the servers didn't have time to spare with each table. We wanted a window seat, but was told there were none even though a table was open when we arrived & still vacant when we left the restaurant. "

  • "I took a group for dinner at the recommendation of a colleague. Three entrees -three disappointments. Tough prime rib. Lamb chops with large fat layer on outside. Swordfish that was so flat that the edges curled up and looked like it came out of the freezer. The price far exceeded the quality. "

  • "The view was spectacular but the food did not meet our expectations at all. My wife and I both started with onion soup and it was barely edible. The onions were leathery, the cheese was gummy and this was the least appetizing of any onion soup we have ever ordered. We each ate less than half of the soup. We told the waiter it was not good and he did not respond at all. My wife's steak was very tough and she ate just afew bites. My steak was cooked OK but the flavor was not good and I only ate half of it. The waiter asked if it was OK and we told him it was not good. He shrugged his shoulders, picked up the plates and walked away. We left and told the lady that seated us that our meal was not good and she offered to get the manager"

  • "We were visiting South Lake Tahoe for the weekend and wanted a good romantic spot with a view for dinner. The website said business casual but we were the only ones who seemed to take that seriously. Obviously being connected to a casino, you'll get an array of people but some of the people did not fit into such a fancy dining place. The views WERE great, if you got to sit by the window...the food was OK. It wasn't the best steak I've ever had, and it certainly wasn't worth $59 bucks, but it was good enough. We did have impeccable service - I will say that. The wait staff take their jobs very seriously and we appreciated that. "

  • "This was the second time we have eaten at Friday's Station and our meal was excellent along with a great view but I will have to say that the dinner portions were too big! My wife had Chicken Picatta which was excellent, but there were two large half breasts along with mashed potatoes and a vegetable which was way too much food for her. We took the left overs back to the hotel, but ended up throwing them away. I had the lamb chops...Yum, yum, but there were three double chops and I was full after two! Again we took them back to the hotel, but threw them away since we didn't have a microwave. Maybe the restaurant could make the portions smaller and lower the prices a bit?"
