Friday Saturday SundayExceptional all around great placeWhat a treat! The staff was very pleasant and well informed regarding the food and wine. The bartender, Danny was great and really made our evening with some of his funny stories.
We had the cream of mushroom soup, the salmon of the day, the duck and creme brule for dessert. Everything was wonderful.
We were celebrating a birthday and I would not hesitate to go again-5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWalk, Don't DriveIt was my daughter's graduation and we picked this place to celebrate. I highly recommend the duck & mushroom soup. The wait staff was very friendly & offered good choices. Although crowded, the ambience was very nice. My problem was the parking. I cannot blame the restaurant, but our reservation was for 7:30. I dropped off my family and cruised the streets & parking lots in vain. I was actually around 20th & South (a good distance away) & still could not park. Finally I found a lot that could take me. I arrived at FSS at 8:10, frustrated.
Would I recommend this place? YES! Everything was excellent. We had a great time. But I would say take SEPTA or walk because the limited parking diminishes an otherwise wonderful experience.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Memorable Dining OutThere were six of us for a mini-reunion. Two came late but there was no problem with that. The staff was friendlier than family. They made us feel comfortable and glad we were there. I have special dietary restrictions and FSS was happy to accommodate each request. I had the salmon, which was so, so good. Others had crab cakes, lamb, and large salads. All were excellent. very tasty. You should make it a point to eat here once. I guarantee you will return.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Neighborhood GemFriday, Saturday, Sunday is a great restaurant. Been here several times and always a dining treat. Had the whole Cornish hen for the first time, and it was tasty, juicy and succulent with crisp skin, with a great sausage stuffing. And the mushroom soup is not to be missed. My dining partners started with the five leaf goat cheese salad and the pate - both great, followed by the roast duck and pork chop -- both were excellent. This is a great restaurant and one that we keep coming back to -- either for a quick meal before a play or concert, or a quiet, great dining experience.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best neighborhoodOne of the best neighborhood spots in center city. Great owners, great food, reasonable wine list.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMQuintessential "neighborhoodQuintessential "neighborhood gem"...Consistently very good food, cozy ambience and friendly, caring service from long service staff.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a winner. Food is alwaysAlways a winner. Food is always consistent and delicious. No matter what I have ordered.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAn evening out.We chose Friday Saturday Sunday for it's proximity to the concert venue that we would be visiting.
From the beginning we were impressed with the level of service, having arrived just prior to opening. We ordered our wines by the glass, I, the Bordeaux, my Wife, the pinot Noir, both. good choices.
For appetizers, I chose the Pate Maison, my wife's choice was the Pan-seared Chilled Ahi Tuna. Both were excellent though, she felt, the wasabi vinaigrette was a bit strong.
Entree's were Slow Roasted Duck for me, and the Roasted Rack of Australian Lamb, med rare for her. Very enjoyable.
The deserts, once again, did not disappoint, we chose the Gran Marnier Creme Brulee and Double Chocolate Layer Cake.
We will be returning to FriSatSun again!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent descirbes the foodExcellent descirbes the food and my experience here............5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I have beenMy husband and I have been to Friday Saturday Sunday multiple times and every time we are thrilled with our choice! The staff is AMAZING - I'm pregnant and they went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The food was excellent per usual - we had the tilapia and the chicken breast with an unreal chipotle bacon cream sauce - beyond delicious!!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AM6 stars if possibleFSS is a place with a heart and a soul--we went there most recently for the annual Philly Dining Out for Life, which FSS has particpated in since its founding 20+ years ago. This visit was my 4th this month, and I have been eating here since the place opnened in the 1970s. It is my favorite restaurant, and one of Philly's best: reasonably priced, consistently high quality food, affordable wine list, great drinks, and a wonderful staff. I can't recommend it highly enough.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDining Out for Aids nightDining Out for Aids night is a busy night and yet this restaurant kept up its high level of cuisine and service. We enjoyed mussels and pecan-crusted tilapia along with savignon blanc. I highly recommend this restaurant.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe filet mignon and crabThe filet mignon and crab cakes are consistently delicious and perfectly cooked. For dessert, the chocolate molten cake is also delicious, but could be served a little warmer. Service is warm and friendly. This is our favorite restaurant.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful discovery as weWonderful discovery as we visited from Vermont!

The restaurant honored my online request for a table in a quiet spot in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and the service was fast. The food was delicious, but not at all pretentious. The atmosphere was romantic. We will definitely be repeat customers.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat can I say than how manyWhat can I say than how many restaurants have you gone to for 40 years. The food and the service are the best in Philadelphia. I have never taken anyone there who hasn't said this is the best food that they have ever had.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWith so many great restaurantsWith so many great restaurants in Philadelphia, the fact that Friday Saturday Sunday is still thriving since its opening in 1973 is a testament to the quality of its food. Our food was delicious, and, in my opinion, Friday Saturday Sunday ranks with some of the best in Philadelphia.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AM6! Stars in Every Way!I have eaten here twice in a week for birthday dinners--two very different friends in terms of background and personality. Everybody loved their dinners in every way. Greg is the best restaurant bartender in the city. You can't be beat FSS for quality and price of food. I have been eating here since they opening in the 70s--it remains my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. Given the number of other restaurnats that have come and gone, FSS's staying power speaks volumes, especially for a place that is tucked away off the beaten path. This is a 6 star restauarnt in every way!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AM10th Anniversary celebrationThis was our first time here, but we loved it. It is small, intimate, and romantic, with a colorful hip vibe . The food was terrific-the mushroom soup lived up to all the rave reviews and my horseradish Panko tilapia in a cilantro buerre blanc sauce was fabulous. My husband loved the lamb shank and we shared a perfect Creme brulee. But making this a truly memorable evening was the staff, especially Dan, who managed to take very good care of us while also making us laugh and have so much fun. We felt like neighborhood regulars. No doubt that we will be eating here on our next visit. Their food is consistently delelicious. The mushroom soup was to die for. Pork chop was just right with an unbelievably lovely sauce. Two people loved the lamb shank, two had duck. The staff are great. And the wine list is the most affordable in the city. I have eaten here dozens and dozens and dozens of times since they opened back in the 1970s, and I have never been disappointed and never had a bad meal.2/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointmentsI've lost count of how many times I have eaten here since they opened back in the 1970s. It is consistently good in every way. The 2013 restaurant week menu was more than generous and more than worth the $35 three-course price.1/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA Well Deserved ReputationThis place has been around for many years although it was my first visit. It clearly has a well deserved reputation. Very accommodating host (offered us our choice of several tables, either downstairs or upstairs- both very pleasant, the latter a bit darker and more classically "romantic") and competent service as well. The food was quite reasonably priced and all high quality, fresh and very good. The drinks/wines were also very fairly priced with a fine selection and good variety, including after dinner liquor choices.
We were both most pleased and will definitely be back soon.1/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding as always.Food was outstanding as always. We shared a duck salad, then I had squash ravioli and my friend had mussels. I always love the Malbec. The place was unusually empty. We had to wait a long time for our main course so it was a good thing we ordered the appetizer. Ordinarily the service is much faster. Our waiter was very nice. I have been there many times and it is one of my favorites, so I will definitely continue to go there.1/6/2013 12:00:00 AMa family favorite! Been goinga family favorite!
