Went during Restaurant Week and the menu was great! Had the prime rib and garlic shrimp, clam chowder. Also there were four of us. 3 had the special of prime rib. The sides were steamed vegies(a little overcooked), sweet chili tomatoes(good) and parsley red potatoes(good). My husband had the gigantic lobster for his 77th birthday! Loved it and the chocolate mousse. It was interesting to note how many tables around us were celebrating a birthday to get the discount. The server was GREAT!

Our night started off with dirty utensils and plates. After having those items replaced everything thereafter was also dirty. The whole experience ruined the night and our appetite was lost. I don't know how dishes are washed there but no one was doing the job right. Will not return.

the food was ok, it did not wow us with the flavors. Seems to be an old family establishment that people have been coming to for a long time. I personally did not think it was worthy of many stars.

Food was decent for Denver Restaraunt Week. Had Red King Crab and Crab Trio. Good portion, yams were not good (my opinion). Service was just ok. Server wrang in wrong drink for wife and then wrang in completely wrong meal also. Good for an occasional treat but not planning on making it a regular stop.

We have been regulars at Fresh Fish Co since late 2010 and this most recent visit was very disappointing when compared with all of our prior visits. One of our first visits was to sample the then "5280" menu and made a great impression. We've taken out of town guests and neighbors, always with great food and service. So we decided to take some friends who really enjoy dining out and the overall experience was mediocre at best. Service started ok, then disappeared, then finally had to track down manager to get correct billing for wine. Screaming kids running around the aisles was not only annoying but dangerous for them. One toddler knocked a wrought iron wall hanging off the hook and thankfully didn't get injured. Food was ok.

Been going here for years now since we found it looking for a great place for my birthday (12/24) and this place has not disappointed us yet. The fish tanks they have all over are quite enjoyable to watch, give one a calming effect so you can enjoy your dinner even more. The service is impeccable, really, you must try this place at least once and you'll return & return & return, just as we did.

This restaurant is old, and looks it. It is stuck in an 80's time warp and not in a good way. Which is too bad because the food is so good! But we have a hard timing paying for fine dining when we don't get the full experience of a more modern dining room. Our server was efficient and knowledgeable but honestly, he didn't imbibe a fine dining attitude of being friendly, conversational and concerned about us as diners. The menu is so informative letting you easily know which fishes are farmed and which are wild caught. Gluten free items are underlined for easy selection. They even have gluten free bread! If you only care about good food this is your place. If you want an overall dining experience, you might want to go someplace else.

I heard this place used to be the only place on Denver to get seafood, well I would say it's now the worst place. The restaurant is so run down looking we should have exited before being seated. The food was also terrible! Salad was wilted, fried food was just gross. Dry, greasy and thick batter on everything from calamari and crab cakes to kids chicken fingers! Seriously don't waist your money. Even the fries were bad.

We had a wonderful meal at Fresh Fish Company on Hampden Ave. I haven't had red snapper since leaving Maryland in 1986. It was delightful! Others tried the rainbow trout, Alaskan Salmon and the Blackened Grouper. Wonderfully prepared with excellent sauces on the side. We all sampled each others fish and sauces. Even the desserts were great. Our waiter Edward came around the perfect amount of times. He gave us time to enjoy our meal, but kept checking just often enough to meet our needs. We will definitely eat here again!

I heard about this restaurant on 710 KNUS and though it worth checking out for my wife's birthday. With her food allergies, I decided to call ahead. Karen, one of the owners, returned my call and researched the food allergies so I knew we had a good shot of eating there without incident. For seafood lovers, I rate this place a SCORE!! My wife had the scallops--great portions that didn't leave you hungry. I had the pistachio sea bass--both a big YUM! Our waitress was diligent in gathering information about specific dishes to assure my wife she could safely eat. It's a bit of a hike from our home, but we will be back!

The food used to be really great, it still is pretty good but we go more now because of the environment and to take in on some of the old memories. The experience is great though because it's still similar to what we remember. The atmosphere is really what draws us back.

My husband and I met at the bar next door (the Proof) 20 years ago so we thought it would be fun to dine at the Fresh Fish Company and then go next door to The Proof to celebrate our 20th anniversary. I want to note that we were unaware that we could have received a discount if we had signed up online beforehand: we paid full price for our meals. I ordered the halibut with the Oscar topping and my husband ordered the rock lobster tail. Because these were two of the highest pricied items on the menu, we assumed that the food would be fantastic. Unfortunately, both entrees were disappointing. His lobster was overdone and my Oscar topping was very scant. Not what we would have expected. The service, however, was excellent!

I have been going to the Fresh Fish Company for over 25 years and it is consistently the best food and service around. The calamari is to die for - I don't even like calamari, and I must have it every time I go...it has spoiled me for having it anywhere else - I refuse! The fish seriously rivals seafood I've had on the coast - amazing to find the best seafood in the middle of the United States! I highly recommend this restaurant...obviously!

I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for years...just never seemed to make it to that end of town, so I was excited to finally try it. Walking in you are hit with a small as though you just walked into a fish store. We were sat in a booth that was falling apart and squeaking, then given a dirty look when we asked to be moved. Not sure what was worse since we were moved to a seat located under the stereo speaker - static was on the station. When asked if they could please tune in the station so we were not listening to static we were told the manager is very sensitive about the stereo system and he would be offended by us asking. By the time we left there I had a headache from listening to static through the whole dinner.

I brought a dear friend to celebrate his birthday - partly because I knew he may have never been here and partly because I knew I could save money ... :-) We were immediately greeted and very soon seated. From the moment we arrived, we could not have asked for better service. The waitress was especially attentive, right down to having the kitchen allow our meal to progress leisurely. The gentleman who worked with her was conscientious in keeping our table neat, and very cordial in casual conversations. The food was above and beyond expectations. And the price was wonderful ~ especially with the birthday discount. Will we be back? Of course!

to tell your server to NOT OVERCOOK YOUR FISH! I've had them ruin many a meal, and now I'm just adament about having the server tell the cook to not overcook my meal! If you do this, you'll be happy! I also recommend some simple preparation rather than some sauced up, fancy schmancy offering. Join their birthday club and enjoy a discount equal to your age two weeks before or after your birthday (I think that's the deal). Truly great Oysters Rockefeller!

Everything here; from the decor, to the menu, to the manager's hairstyle, was stuck in the early 90s. The menu is ENORMOUS and there is no way any cook could master that many dishes. There were four of us in my group and all of our sides were pretty good, however the entrees (all seafood) were very poor. My scallops were obviously cooked on too cold of a surface and for too long of a time (they were barely seared and were quite rubbery). The entrees of all my dining companions were pretty much the same (improperly prepared). They would do well to cut the menu down to 10 - 15 dished that they can do really well (this would also improve their food cost as they wouldn’t have to carry so much inventory).

My True Cod was way too salty, other than that, everything was ok. Also, why doesn't the kid's menu have decent fish choices? My kids had to order off the adult menu with no sides. The fish portions were too big for them. Anyway, we won't be returning. There are too many better restaurants for fish in the Denver area. This was ok, but not worth the price.
