  • "Oh looord where do I begin. Went here with some friends the other night. Our server, Shannon, greeted us with a radiant smile and informed us of the additions to the regular menu they had. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We started with some apps to share for the table. The Sacchetti was phenomenal and I'd recommend that to anyone. Shannon told us that they do entree portions of the Sacchetti so I'll definitely be getting that in the future and see if the chef will add some grilled chicken to it. For my entree I had the Lamb special which was cooked perfectly. For dessert, I had the lemon ricotta cheesecake. If you don't like their cheesecake, you have a problem. Excellent service and food we surely will be returning."

  • "This is the third time dining at Frescos this summer. Each time it gets better! Our favorites; fried olives, Sachetti (pasta purses with Vodka Sauce), Shrimp and Scallop Pescatore, Swordfish Piccata and Veal Chop Saltimbocca. All the salads are terrific as well! Service is friendly and competent. Ethan and Erica do a wonderful job serving. Frescos also works well for larger groups, we took our family of 12 and everything was seamless. There is free parking lot available on Bank Street which is a plus."

  • "We are local residents and dine here often. Had dinner with our neighbors on a Thursday evening and enjoyed regular selections and specials alike! Staff is always friendly and knowledgable about the menu, service is attentive but not overbearing, and we often bring guests from out of town. Favorite appetizer is fried olives, never miss them! Only wish Fresco's was open all year!"

  • "This is one of the better Italian restaurants we have visited in South Jersey. We have been coming to Fresco's for over a decade as part of our vacation routine. While the food has fluctuated a bit over the years it still remains very good. The service is good but used to be much better. This year the food was as good as any year but the service was noticeably different. It seemed that everything was just late - the bread came late, dinner came but our appetizers were still on the table - we had been done for at least 10 minutes. We were half way thru dinner before waitress checks to see if the food was ok. We went on late on a weekday - the restaurant was busy but not full. The waitress was very nice just the attentiveness was off."

We sat at the requested porch table, Lisa was a knowledgeable and attentive server, food was excellent, Caesar for two, anchovies on the side, fettuccine special, and pasta over seafood with perfect taste.   • "My sister and I arrived at the restaurant and we were told by the hostess (not very politely) that we couldn't sit in the main dining room (which was almost empty) and that we had to sit in the porch since we were only 2 people. The table for 2 was very small and uncomfortable. However, our waitress was very nice. The food was okay. The hostess should take a course in how to greet people when they come into the restaurant. I don't think we'll be going back to Fresco's."

  • "This is a regular stop when we are in Cape May. The host noted our request for a table on the porch and immediately showed us to the table. Lisa took care of our table and was friendly, informative and checked several times everything was what we wanted. The food was good - the duck special was moist and not as crispy as expected, the scallops and shrimp pescatore was very good. Fresco's is BYOB. Make sure host records your keeping your reservation"

  • "The food was just OK. The best of the meal was the fried olives, they were great. However the rest of the meal was mediocre. The Beef Carpaccio was rolled and had no taste, a very unappetizing presentation. The pasta dishes were just OK, not great. We were disappointed since we have had much better meals at this restaurant."

My wife and I first went to Frescos a LONG time ago(must be over 20+ years, I don't think we had kids yet) when we used to frequent the B&B's in Cape May. We took our kids this past Saturday night. It was as great a meal as I remembered. I had the Osso Buco which was fantastic. I appreciated that the restaurant had complementary parking in parking-challenged Cape May."

  • "Food overall was decent but service was lacking. When weentioned that ravioli entree was not cook and pasta was hard, she said I'll let the kitchen know. Did not do anything more. No offer to bring ravioli that had been cooked, offer another entree selection, etc. Quite simply did not care. Food adequate and ambience was nice -but noisey."

  • "Fourth of July in a popular shore destination. Was a bit apprehensive about quality of food and service because of this. No worries. There were four of us. All had a very enjoyable meal. Very nice restaurant. Not sitting on top of each other. Service was A+. All of us agreed That our food, from appetizers to dessert, was delicious. Courses well spaced, did not feel rushed at all. Would definitely recommend Frescos."

  • "Friendly approachable hostess sat us with no hesitation, the restaurant was packed not an empty seat in the house both upstairs and down. Ethan, our server greeted us with a smile and a detailed account of the specials, we ordered both off the menu and the evening specials. Our appetizers were the marinated seafood salad and the special raw tuna tartare. Both ample and delicious. for entrees, we shared the lamb special and the papardelle pasta with shrimp and scallops. We ate everything. The homemade pasta was cooked to perfection as were the shrimp and scallops. The lamb, as well. We managed to share dessert, a ricotta cheesecake, with fried lemon, WOW!!!! We can't wait to return to stuff ourselves."

  • "There must be a new chef who is cooking to an old menu, because what is served does not correlate to what is described, e.g., the veal saltimbocca is described as "sauteed​ veal scallopini layered with prosciutto, mozzarella, fresh sage", while the dish served was a stuffed veal chop, overcooked and of poor quality. The signature osso bucco was bland and tasteless, as was the pillow pasta appetizer which was not served in a spicy sauce as advertised. This was our first visit to Cape May, and we had chosen Fresco based on various positive website reviews. Based on our experience, their prior praiseworthy reputation is sure to nose-dive unless they take drastic action in the kitchen."

  • "Made reservation 4 weeks in advance and requested specific dining room. Upon arriving manager advised me that the room I requested was too busy. We were a party of 2. Finally after waiting for about 10 minutes he seated us in the room I requested. Room had 10 tables, some large and small but only one poor overworked waitress to cover all tables. She tried her best. Ordered Veal Saltambocca, when order arrived I questioned order as I had never seen it served as a chop, upon carving meat found it both almost uncooked and full of fat hardly any lean meat. Questioned waitress and she agreed and said another guest had complained of the same thing. She took it off the bill & gave free dessert but the manager never appeared or offered apology."

My daughter had the lasagna that was actually a personal lasagna made individually, not typical where you would see a large piece cut from a pan. Sampled hers that was also delicious. My husband and I shared a salad that was unique and had mako shark placed on top. Our first time having shark - yum! We would definitely go back. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was very nice."

  • "Fried olive appetizer was different and salad was good. The pasta my friend had was tasty. I had the ten ounce lamb shank that was not tender and very fatty. They were supposed to serve the lamb with both potatoes and snap peas. They ran out of peas, but didn't think to say anything or offer a substitute until I asked about the missing peas. They finally substituted broccoli rabe which was so tough and stringy I near choked. Terrible that a cook in and Italiam restaurant didn't know how to prepare broccoli rabe properly."

Only issue we had was I asked for spaghetti instead of rigatoni on a dish and was told the chef does not like substitutions. He then added that the spaghetti would not pick up the flavor of the sauce very well. I ate the rigatoni but next time I will force the issue."

  • "I ate here last war for the first time and enjoyed it, so we went back. Unfortunately, this meal was horrible. From the appetizer with the smallest amount of crab I've ever seen to the seafood pescatore, which was bland and smelled more like seafood than it tasted. We tried to make up for it with the chocolate espresso flan for dessert but that was a bust too. Perhaps we ordered wrong, but at their prices, there shouldn't be such a thing."

  • "Frescos is one of our favorite restaurants in Cape May. We have a summer home in Cape May and have been dining at Frescos for years. The food and service are always good to great. Our experience Saturday 6/7 was somewhat disappointing. Restaurant Week was 6/1-6/8 and Frescos was participating; we made a 7:15 reservation for $25 price fixed 3 course meal through Open Table but when we got to Frescos our server informed us that the restaurant week menu ended at 6:15pm which was not on website or printed menu. Frescos honored the priced fixe menu after we protested but manager was not happy about it as other diners were also protesting."
