Raining the night we went, so no outdoor seating, which is such a bonus at Fresco. Regardless, had a charming waiter and very good food. I chose the too expensive swordfish special (who eats it anymore, what a treat!) and it was perfectly prepared and over an excellent, fresh tricolor salad, so no appetizer needed. My friend's dish was prepared exactly to her liking, and she's picky! Have been there before and will go again for attentive service and very good (reliable, sounds so boring but true) Italian fare.

Good great. Decor dark and music loud and annoying. Not sure what style they are going for but it was like being in a club at 2am. Not upbeat or what we wanted for a weekday dinner. Won't go back unless we can sit outside

Our two salads were very fresh with interesting tastes (one was a corn salad with mushrooms and goat cheese). Our pasta courses could not be more Italian -- pasta was freshly made and the sauces authentic. The portions were right-sized, we both took home left=overs. We sat outside which was quite nice but the service was uneven. The interior decor is a bit funky.

Fresco is a nice addition to the Montclair dining scene, however, it is not my scene. Service was unenthusiastic, bordering on reluctant (and this applies to the waiter, not the support, bus boys, servers). The pasta dishes were delicious, but the appetizer we chose was not. In fact, we couldn't eat it, and while they voluntarily took it off our bill, they were clearly offended, not gracious.

Went to Fresco's on a Thursday evening for dinner with my boyfriend. Was a few minutes late for the reservation, due to parking in Montclair, but the hostess was so kind and still accommodated us for outdoor seating. Our service came quickly, opened our bottle of wine (BYOB!) and got us a nice bucket. Food was great! Did a pizza which are personal size for an appetizer, followed by an entree which the portions were HUGE. I will def be back, I really enjoyed my evening at Fresco. Oh only negative, burned the double expresso! But hey it happens to the best of us.

We had to dine insides, due to weather....outside area looked lovely. Inside, looks like a run down night club that lost its liquor license. There is a very large screen television, very noisy (restaurant was not filled), staff was dressed terrible...pushy to turn a table....if you are looking for a good pizza place for lunch on a nice day, ok....otherwise don't bother! We had salads with salmon...portions small, price high

Took my husband to Fresco for Fathers day. As we walked in, the host greeted us and promptly informed us that unfortunately, they weren't able to take our order until 4:30pm (it was 4:00pm). We were shocked to say the least because there were MORE empty tables than occupied, so this was very confusing, and we were hungry! Not a good start, but we said fine. 5 minutes later our waiter come over to take our order. What happened to the half hour delay? After propping up our uneven table with their specials menu, I have the chicken Francese which was average and my husband had the fish - which he first had to peel the skin from before eating. Skipped dessert. Beautiful area, nice restaurant, poor service, average food. $80 bill.

The waiter was very familiar with the menu and always there when we needed something . The food was ok I ordered the linguine with clams and they were super sandy where I only ate couple bites and couldn't eat anymore . Salad was good and so was the calamari we ordered for appetizer . I would love to go back and try something else though.

I have been at this restaurant a few times and it is great. This time the waiter accidently spilled a glass of our wine all over my dress and our table and feet. Although, he apologized we were in a loss of a glass of wine and when I asked if they served drinks he said no and that we can buy more wine at a liquor store down the street. I thought he would offer us some kind of discount for ruining our dinner, but he could care less.

It's great to have another outdoor venue on Church Street, however it loses something being next to the line of parked valet cars. Really, people can't park in the deck a half a block away? Also, service is a little more mixed up and slower on the street, but if it's a great evening, one puts up with a lot more quirkiness to dine al fresco. Regardless the food has now become consistently very good: muscles were tender in an interesting sauce with prosciutto, broccoli rabe was done to the right tenderness, and the roasted corn salad was satisfyingly smokey and seasoned well. No question will return and recommend.

I had dinner here with a group of friends. We originally went there so we could dine outside since it was finally warm enough to do so. It was raining so we couldn't, but the inside was just as nice. The food was good but the portions were small!! I'm not a big eater to begin with so that normally wouldn't bother me, but one of my friends plates, i felt they should've been embarrassed to even serve it to her because there was barely anything on the plate!! No joke!! So basically if you're looking for a big meal then either order a lot of apps or 2 entrees. Great food, service and ambiance though. I also really liked that they have valet parking, in Montclair that's definately a plus : )

My first complaint is that we were seated outside and my wife and I didn't want to sit there. The hostess claimed that there parties inside. No one told me about that the day prior when they called to confirm the reservation which I made weeks prior. The food (eggplant appetizer ) was loaded with oil an the Chicken giambotti was very dry with and no flavor at all. Two small pieces of chicken and more potatoes then peppers. One long hot pepper . The Veal Milanese was also oily with little flavor. Very poor quality for the money.

Fresco is striving to be, in our waiter's own words, "very Italian," but begs the point. Odd pairings at brunch - soft shell crabs Eggs Benedict - seem anything but Italian. Scrambled eggs with mozzarella were overdone (but tasted okay), and did not come with toast. Pancetta was oddly vinegary. When we asked if we could get a traditional Eggs Benedict, our waiter responded, "sure, without hollandaise?" The price was certainly reasonable and ambience very nice. Pizza at other tables looked wonderful. Worth a repeat trip.

This restaurant is great apparently if you're going through a midlife crisis and want to act like a teenager. We were surrounded by 3 large tables of people over the age of 50 that were acting like it was their first night of college. One table had multiple bottles of vodka handles that had a large dent (at 8pm), and the others were sharing a bottle of fireball whiskey. Seriously? They were screaming so loud and at one point even stood up on their chairs to initiate the restaurant in a round of "YMCA". I really wish I was kidding. The music in the restaurant was also blasting the entire time. Which forced me to scream if I wanted even a chance of letting my friends hear what I was saying. It was ridiculous. Never going back again.
