Italian food that runs very light on the red sauce- it is always a pleasure to see what the chef will have to offer us. They have a beautiful outdoor patio when the weather is nice. Otherwise, the size of the restaurant is tiny but cozy. My impression is that there is a new chef and the results are very good. Most of the items on the March 31, 2013 menu were new to us. We had two of the pastas which were both unique and very yummy. The new (to us) wine list was also terrific. All in all, we look forward to our next visit to SLC for more than powder skiing. The restaurant has attempted to ameliorate the noise level by adding canvas panels to the ceiling, but the space is rather small so the tables are close together. On this visit the server spoke very clearly so we could hear the description of the specials. Also, neighboring parties spoke in conversational tones, so the noise level was moe acceptable than on a previous visit. It wasWhat a great place. It was our first time and we found the restaurant on Open Table. The location is excellent and only a few minutes from the U of Utah theater. The menu is great with a selection of Italian entrees not commonly found. The Pici was excellent as was the nightly special. There is an excellent selection of drinks and wine too. The space is small which created an intimate feel for just the 2 of us but also had the downside that we could clearly hear the full details of the conversation at the next table.
