Fresca - FillmoreAmazing food, service, and night!Fresca was had incredible food, awesome service, and the overall vibe of the place was really fun and made me want to go back very soon! If you're wanting a nice dessert street following the yummy main course, the tres leche cake was to die for! Can't wait to go back.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful dinner for twoThe mood was just the right amount of lively and relaxed for an evening out with your significant other/small party of 4 - it might be a little too busy on Saturdays though as there were enough people waiting to be seated on a Sunday evening. We were seated close to a family with a baby, so you can say it is pretty kid-friendly. The food was delicious and while the appetizer menu is a little heavier on the seafood side (we didn't order any entrees), there was enough variety in meat/poultry/salad/etc (please note only 1 or 2 vegetarian dishes). Portion-price ratio was appropriate & befitting of a mid-scaled restaurant in the Fillmore. Service was great as they refilled our water regularly and managed to give us our space to enjoy our meal.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest (cooked) fish I've had in SFEverything was great, but the whole dorade was unbelievable! the Yucca chips were also perfect. Ask for aioli with them. The servers were attentive and charming, as well as well informed.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMgood Peruvian food!place seemed pretty busy and packed so the service was not that great. Papa la huancaina was not on the menu but I love trying that dish at each peruvian restaurant I visit so i asked! Luckily they still had the sauce to make it so we shared it! it was pretty good. One of my friends have never tried it and he thought it was pretty good! I ate the aji de gallina and my friend had the lomo saltado. both were pretty awesome. The chicha morada drink is not alcoholic but for some reason it is not listed under the non-alcoholic beverages. I thought the chicha morada tasted kinda funny...not limey enough. the sangria drinks were pretty weak. I would definitely go back and try other dishes!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGood peruvian stylePeruvian flavour with à taste of us californian. This restaurant is certainly of one best restaurant of neighborhood in sfo. Not oo expensive, large portions, staff friendly5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBest ceviche in townI have been to this restaurant multiple times and I have never been disappointed by food nor service
This time I must comment on my visit on May 17th in evening
I arrived and was greeted by a young blond hostess. She was very unprofessional, disengenious, and quite rude in the manner she addressed our inquiry about seating options. I believe her name was Annie and if I was not so impressed with my previous experiences, I would have found another dining option that evening.
This evening my guest and I ordered ceviche, lomo saltado, tequenos, and mussels. I wish I could eat more food but I'll return again. For dessert I ordered chocolate lava cake and it was fantastic.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFun, pleasant dinner spotPleasant, warm ambiance. We enjoyed sharing the ceviche trio, a few small plates & daily special (sea bass with homemade ravioli). Tasty food and a fun experience. Service felt slightly rushed at times, but I guess that's what you get in a busy restaurant.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA great place to dine, butA great place to dine, but the noise level is very high, making it hard to have a conversation.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen to different locationsBeen to different locations of Fresca. This is my second visit to the one on Fillmore. The food was very good--the pork was cooked to perfection--tender and not dry. It was very hard to have conversations at the table because of the noise level of the other tables. Also, I had made reservations through Open Table for 3 at 8:30pm but still, had to wait for about half-hour, to which the hostess said she would offer us free sangria but that did not follow through; however, the food was so tasty, we were forgiving on these issues. I might try the other locations again, instead of this one.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband loved the TequenosMy husband loved the Tequenos (crab and cream cheese won tons) but we were not as excited about the Platanos Fritos. I ordered mussels for appetizer and the portion was so large that I made it my entire meal. The mussels were great and there was plenty of sauce for mopping up with extra toasted bread. My husband also loved his Corvina (bass) fish on spinach on rice cake. We were enjoying ourselves so much that we ordered dessert. The Alfajores consisted of 2 shortbread cookies with caramel filling, ice cream and strawberries and whipped cream. The portions were just right and I ate the whole thing! My husband liked the sugary Picarones (beignets). The Illy decaf was the best coffee I've had at a restaurant in years! The service was O.K.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBe sure to ask for the waiterBe sure to ask for the waiter named, Jonathan, if possible. He's the best there is!!! Literally MADE our dinner experience at Fresca.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTotes AmazeOne of my fav spots in the city! Get a sangria, ceviche and llomo saltado.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took out of town guestsWe took out of town guests and they raved about it. The cerviche can't be beat. Entrees: Ahi Tuna, Chicken Stew, Salmon all fantastic.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was incredible. The food was incredible. The smells, as we walked into the restaurant, were intoxicating and we were very excited to find that the food was as good. the chicken stew was outstanding but the ceviche was the treasure. I will definitely go back.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBoth the food and the serviceBoth the food and the service at Fresca are wonderful. A great place for a relaxing meal with a friend or date,a little noisy because of it's popularity though.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I came hereMy husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. The food was delicious. We definitely want to come back for lunch and brunch.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI was new to the restaurant,I was new to the restaurant, having chosen it based on Open Table reviews. The food was first rate, favorable and well presented.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI always have a great experienceI always have a great experience at Fresca, and love bringing people there for their first trip. We had a big group, and their staff did a great job having things prepared for us, with quick service for the whole group. Food as always was delicious.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good food and serviceI have been a long time fan of Fresca. Been to this and the Noe Valley locations many times and always had delicious, flavorful food and friendly service.
Today, I had to change my reservation within 30mins of my original reservation. They accommodated my request only if I could agree to finish the meal in 1.5 hrs. Since it was just my friend and me, I thought that was no problem. However, dessert came a little slower than expected, so we went over our time limit. But the hostess did not push us. I saw her kindly keep the next couple talking and waiting patiently at the door until we were finished, about 15 minutes late. My dinner date was new to the city and to Fresca and she is now a fan of the restaurant.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe waitress recommended theThe waitress recommended the Sea Bass and it was excellent. As was the sangria, and my friends all enjoyed their meals as well!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was phenomenal. The foodIt was phenomenal.
