  • "Wanted to try Fred & Steve's for a while now and got to celebrate my birthday there with my family. The service was speedy and friendly, the appetizers (squash blossoms) were delicious as were the heirloom tomatoes in the caprese salad. Our steaks were fantastic both in size and in flavor. A great way to spend a birthday!! AND we got to meet Fred Smerlas too!!! Wonderful!!"

  • "Always like to have dinner at Fred & Steve's when I'm at Twin Rivers. The food has always been excellent; always cooked to your liking. The ceasar salad is large enough for two or more. The sides are large enough to share also. The desserts are wonderful; a great finish to a terriffic meal. I certainly will eat there again the next time I'm at Twin Rivers."

This was the only down fall, The food quality and portion size was great, everything was cooked to perfection. The desserts are outstanding, as if they came out of a magazine. right down to the coffee in the end."

  • "Over priced. I would expect a high priced steakhouse to properly cook a steak. I ordered a petite filet cooked medium. The waitress asked me to cut into it to assure proper cooking- it was raw in the center . It was returned to kitchen and then returned to me 5 minutes later - overcooked and dry. We suspected it had been microwaved. I had steak from BJs grilled at home last night that far exceeded the one served here."

  • "I made the ultimate mistake of ordering fish at a steak house. I love sea bass.... and it was on the menu. Ordered it and the texture was very light... it's usually firm. There were also way too many bones. Each bite was 50/50... it's not fun eating a piece of fish, then having to pull bones out of your mouth in front a a full bar. I think the food would have been better without the bones. We ordered stuffed mushrooms and that was good. Overall I was not happy, but would be willing to give it another try."

  • "I have been to Fred and Steve's many times and have always been very happy with the food and the service, but this time they outdid themselves. The food was especially well-prepared that night, both my husband's prime rib and my filet mignon were cooked perfectly. But what really set this night apart was what came at the end. We had mentioned to our server in passing that it was our anniversary, and after the dinner plates had been cleared she brought us a dessert to share that even had a lit candle in it. It was such a sweet, thoughtful gesture and really made the evening special to us."

  • "When I made the reservation, we had expectations of sitting in the Dining Room but opted for the bar, instead. Good choice as Tim and his helper were extremely friendly and hard working. The food came out on time and was excellent starting with the stuffed mushrooms thru to my prime rib and my husband's sirloin steak. The drinks were equally as good. The bartender, Tim was great to talk to as he was extremely friendly and very nice, not just to us but to everyone. Will definitely go back to Fred and Steve's, actually looking forward to our next visit!"

It looked and tasted like it just came out of a can. The mashed potato was cold. The shrimp was delicious and steak were ok and the service was awesome. Thankfully bisque and potato were taken of the bill, but for the prices at this establishment, it was a really disappointing meal over all. "

Knowing a little about steaks, it appeared to me that the tenderloin section of the steak was missing and the portion served was not as big as expected and was tough/chewy. It didn't appear that the steak portion was actually from the T-Bone - but couldn't be sure. The steak seemed more like NY strip meat? Not sure, but something wasn't right. The tailgate salad was awesome as was the bread and wine..... Expected a better steak considering the price and the restaurant...I have had better at Longhorn and Texas Road House. Should have complained but didn't. May give them a second chance before writing them off. "

  • "With our reservation we were seated right away and had a very nice booth by the window, overlooking the casino. Fred and Steve's has a great selection of appetizers, beef and seafood entrees. Several wait staff were involved in providing great service. The portions are very generous and the menu offers many choices for a big appetite. We tried the smallest size prime rib and it was delicious. We also ordered a side of asparagus and mashed potato with cheese, bacon and chives to share. We came with an appetite and savored it all. I would highly suggest Fred and Steve's if you want a relaxing, delicious meal. We were surprised when Open Table e-mailed us and said we were a no show. We promptly e-mailed them and they straightened it out."

  • "This was my 1st time there and I picked it out for my birthday dinner and it was a bad experience.. The service was awful except for the person who brought out the food and the women who was clearing our table but our servers were not there at all it took 15 mins to get our drink and that's only because we stopped some one to ask for it my crab legs were gross and seemed kinda bad but our server came way to late to find out we did not want to cause a scene so we were going to write a letter to them . This was one of the worse experiences I have had in a restaurant and this was suppose to be a fine dinning restruant .. I have to defiantly say I wouldn't recommend it to anyone... It made for a horrible birthday.."
