A word from Fraticelli's Italian Grill - Appleby
Fraticelli's Italian Grill and Bar is driven by one simple principle… create a great Italian impression. Or as the Italians often say… "fare una bella figura."
Like our 13 provinces and territories, Italy has 20 wonderful regions, each one more adamant than the other that they have the best food in the country. Our menu at Fraticelli's is to serve you the best of the best from these wonderful regions. Our steaks are cooked over a high heat wood-fire grill made famous in Tuscany. Our pastas are fresh and our sauces are homemade ranging from the classic northern dish Pappardelle Bolognese to the southern Sicilian style seafood pasta, Spaghetti Pescatore. The pizzas are served Napoletana; style, thin crust and stone baked at 750 degrees. All made with the freshest ingredients available, authenticated with imported Italian plum tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, and the best grated cheeses.

We took some friends here for dinner, we had a most enjoyable evening, good company, good wine, and mostly good food. I ordered chicken piccata, which for me was a very heavy ! That said, I am not a big eater, I felt it was quite a strong flavoured dish, not one I would order again. My husband ordered a medium steak which was in actual fact "rare" and not very warm by the time it reached our table. Our friends opted for the specials, swordfish for the gentleman and a very small pasta serving for the lady, they were happy with their choices. The bread on our table was delicious, as was our starters, mussels and bruschetta. Only one of us ordered desert which I tested, not keen on the flourless chocolate hazelnut cake, way too dry for me.

Was hoping to be impressed after driving by the restaurant on numerous occasions and seeing it was always busy. Unfortunately, nothing really stood out for "us". The Crab Arancini was tasty but had more risotto than crab. The Papardelle was bland and the Penne Arrabbiata was a bit too spicy (for me). The flourless Hazelnut cake was dry even with the berry compote. I would not order any of those dishes again - but sadly, my first impression of the restaurant won't be bringing me back any time soon. Complimentary dinner bread was a delicious filler. Our server was attentive.

We had dinner here on the weekend and were very disappointed in the entire experience. The server seemed to care less to be there and was very blunt and rude when asked about menu items. Our food took almost an hour and no manager ever came over to check on us and let us know it was coming. When it finally arrived it was cold and dried out. Perhaps from sitting in the window for so long? Maybe the staff was too busy talking about their plans after work to run our food? Overall the food quality, service and atmosphere were very disappointing. It was so bright and you could barely hear music. Just noise from the kitchen and staff talking. I had much higher expectations and instead got an sub par experience with cold food and poor service.

I have been to Fraticelli's a few times, and it's always been great. Our last visit the food was excellent, but the waitress we had was not. Long stretches without coming to check on us, We had to ask about specials because she never told us. We tried to order appetizers twice, but she left the table with the words coming out of our mouths. We finally had to flag her down and ask to order appetizers. We did not feel like a priority to her at all. (medium length blond hair, not young) Oh and when we arrived, it took them well over a minute to 'find' our reservation on Open Table, and almost treated me like I was lying about having a reservation. We did NOT feel very welcome. We will go back because the food is worth it.

Very disapponted...had read some reviews but gave it a shot for 7 of us dining for bday dinner. Service was not good. Waitress barely came around so almost impossible to fill our drinks. Food was not good infact had to send pizza back as it was so cold. All food was way too salty even the ice cream desert came melted. Very disapointed at least we had good company.

Waiter was not attentive, forgot our drinks and forgot to bring bread. Our booth was right by the kitchen and the chefs uniforms were filthy and the floor was covered in garbage. My pasta was still extremely hard and uncooked. Overall a bad experience with terrible ambience - extremely dead for a Friday night. Also made reservations for 4 people (had an email confirmation) and the girl who seated us insisted we only made it for 2 people.

Decent restaurant with moderate food. The food came out too fast. Only half way through my salad and my entrée arrived. I had the beet salad which was delicious and a veal dish wish is listed in their specialties. The veal was tough in spots (which was very disappointing for veal) and the orzo pasta side was hard and sticking together in spots. Their celebrating my anniversary which I noted on the reservation and no one even mentioned it. The menu had mostly a good selection, but orzo pasta (which I am not a big lover of) was the side on almost every dish. Would have liked to see a risotto side or gnocchi or ANYTHING else. My wife did enjoy her food and lobster menu. Potion sizes were surprising. The lobster risotto was huge but veal small

Location is not what we were expecting driving in from Toronto; had we known it was in a strip mall, we would have save the hassle; it took forever to get served; we had specifically gone for the Taste of Burlington and were not given a menu, we had to ask for it; the selection for this was boring. We ordered from the main menu; it took forever for our food to come; when we complained to our waitress, she didn't even acknowledge it, she just responded "I will get the Manager"; Manager indicated the kitchen had fallen behind; our main dishes were comp'd; would never go again nor would we recommend it; food was nothing special

Third time going to this location with different people. Went on a Sunday around 5pm not busy at all. Again decor inside restaurant is up scale and the dishes that we have tried have all been outstanding. The service needs to be picked up a notch. It would be nice if your server would introduce themselves to you so you have their name at least. To either call them if you need something or when filling out the restaurant servey. It seems that a lot of them are just flipping their tables and can't wait for you to leave to get the 15-20% TIP !! that a lot don't deserve.

First time visit, celebrating our anniversary. Although the food was very tasty, well prepared and fairly sized, the noise level was very high, and my wife and I had to almost yell at each other to be heard. The open kitchen adds to the modern feel of the layout, and to the noise. Might return during the week when not so crowded, and never for a romantic occasion.

This was our second time in a week at Fraticelli's. We tried different items this time and we loved our main dishes. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, amazing tasting food, but I have to say that the service is a little slow. If your out with family or friends and are not in a rush it's totally fine. If your on a tight schedule you might find the service slow. We had the manager come to our table to bring our meals and we had to ask him if he was the restaurant manager. He didn't introduce himself at any point. I think for a new restaurant the manager should be out working as many tables as possible to speak to customers and create repeat clients. Beside that it's got great tasting italian dishes.

Asked hostess why time was blocked, she responded that management thought they would have a rush at the regular time for dinner. Suggested I call the restaurant to confirm what times were available. Not much use having online reservations available, if I still need to call restaurant.

A new venture for my family and I, Enjoyed the homemade pasta and in particular the portion sizes: perfect size - I was not stuffed but felt satisfied after each course. The only criticism was the choice of presentation of the starter salads. The convex bowl made it awkward to eat and many times I knocked salad on the floor in attempting to eat it. Also the shape of the bowl made it impossible to mix the salad properly and most of the lightly applied dressing was found at the bottom of the bowl. Will go again, just maybe next time I'll order soup as a starter.

My friend and I shared the roasted beet salad which was ok although we wondered why the info stated hothouse tomatoes. These were cut in very large slices. I had roasted chicken rotolo. It appeared very dry but inside was moist and tasty. My friend had veal picata and said it was delicious. Only disappointment was bread didn't arrive until after main course had been served. Would have been nice to have while sipping on our wine. Pleasant surroundings but noise level is a bit much for us older folks. Staff were very pleasant
