We had the octopus risotto,
halibut and duck which were all flavorful without being too rich. A bit disappointed with the bread pudding and sorbet which had way too much sugar."

Great restaurant, service was ok
and food was good. I enjoyed what i ordered, but was disappointed by the limited menu. I had hoped to find a menu with a wide selection of Italian items but that was not the case. There were only 2 pasta items."
Dined on 4/10/2014
The food sounded good but was far
below average. The gnocchi was grainy, the risotto wasn't really risotto and the rice was under cooked, and the bread pudding was dry and crumbly. I will not be back!"
Dined on 4/7/2014
Frascati never disappoints. Great
food, cable cars gliding by, sidewalk tables on a warm evening; this is San Francisco!"
Dined on 4/7/2014
great neighborhood restaurant.
Extremely difficult parking. They need to provide Valet parking or go to Walmart at corner of Polk and Vaness. Excellent main course and desserts. Appetizers mostly outstanding-grilled sardines highly average."

This was my third time here. Very
good food. The bruschetta was amazing. I had the halibut which was very very good. My daughter had the duck salad which she loved. She also had the prime rib which was very good. We were seated next to a small very loud table. Service was very good until they changed our waitress. Waitress number two was not that attentive. Would definetly recommend."

We had a great dinner for four.
Our server was attentive and fun. The food was well prepared and serving sizes were generous. Their recipes were interesting and we all thought our meals were very tasty. Good wine list."

We went here to celebrate it
anniversary and it was perfect"
Dined on 3/25/2014
Not a traditional "scenic" view,
but the occasional cable car rumbling by is a lovely sight. The food, service and ambiance all work together for a special evening."
Dined on 3/23/2014
This place is a wonderful spot
with great food. The menu has a variety of items. My only complaint was that the wine pour was extremely small."

This was our first visit in SF. We
were a group of four celebrating a milestone birthday. We were looking for a restaurant with a special atmosphere out of the heavy tourist areas. All of us were delighted by Frascati. Upon our arrival, the maitre d'hotel was polite and friendly. He took into account the special request that we mentioned in the reservation. The food was very good. Wine was great. The service was efficient, with lots of attention but not too familiar. Can't wait for our next visit in SF !"

This was our 2nd visit in our week
long visit to the Bay area, it was that good!! Do try the choc. bread pudding dessert."
Dined on 3/16/2014
For $110 we had 4 glasses of very
good wine to accent a Pappardelle with beef and a succulent filet mignon, both worthy of five stars. The"view" is of cable cars rattling to and fro on Hyde Street, and that's part of what we came to see. It was a memorable evening."
Dined on 3/16/2014
Frascati is a chic little spot! We
got a window table and enjoyed the cheese plate, the lamb risotto, and the duck. The cheese plate featured a few really outstanding cheeses, especially the ashes brie (or other soft cheese - can't remember). All I know is that it was smokey and cheesy and simply delicious! The risotto was very good and so was the duck! I can only give it four stars though because it wasn't the #1 on my list of restaurants in SF. Outstanding, yes, but not the creme-de-la-creme. Still totally worth going to, though!!"

I was looking forward to a
fantastic experience but was disappointed. The food was so-so (gnocchi, mushroom bruschetta, salad, ravioli). Our server seemed miffed that she had to take our order. We got the impression she was peeved at having to show up for work. I do understand what it's like being in the service industry, which is exactly why restaurants might make sure their servers are service-oriented people. Patrons ought to feel as if they are welcome, not a bother. At any rate, even if it was great service/food, the noise level here isn't for me. I prefer talking over shouting."

Used to live in Bay Area, and this
was my favorite SF restaurant. Moved away several years ago, came back for a visit, and was thrilled to find Frascati just as wonderful as I remembered: creative menu, top-notch food, gracious service, terrific wine list."

Absolutely great dinning
experience. Book ahead for reservations- take the Hyde St cable car to their front door and step inside for a fantastic dinner,"
Dined on 2/25/2014
We went with our friends and
shared all the entrees with each other. The baked chicken, lamp risotto and pork chop were absolutely amazing. Will definitely go back again. The wine list is one of the best we've seen. Great Russian Hill restaurant."
Dined on 2/24/2014
Beautiful food, fantastic
selection of wines and great service. The dark and white chocolate bread and butter pudding in particular is just incredible. I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years from when I lived just around the corner to now, whenever I get to visit San Francisco, and it never disappoints."
Dined on 1/4/2014
What a great spot. The food was
tremendous. Try the Halibut! They were very attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely return"
Dined on 2/14/2014
Great little place. Risotto with
house made sausage was excellent. Service was very good as well. No complaints at all"

It was an excellent atmosphere and
experience at Frascati and one that I will never forget."
Dined on 2/8/2014
The service was very professional
but not too affected. The menu was interesting, and perfectly prepared. It's been 3 days and I've already recommended it 4 times!"
Dined on 2/7/2014
Thank you for a wonderful, very
special birthday dinner overall at Frascati. Food, service and ambience impeccable. Extremely friendly, professional, very knowledgeable and generous service. Top of my list for a special occasion."
Dined on 2/5/2014
The food, service and ambience of
this restauarant are outstanding. The food and service were excellent on this last visit. The menu changes on a regular basis so they are always different things to try. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone."
Dined on 2/5/2014
A gem with high standards. The
server was VERY knowledgeable and knew the subtleties of all the offered wines. Dishes were perfect. Steak tartar didn't grab me but was pleasant. All else was perfect. $250 including tip for 3 diners, with wine and a desert."

Although parking is always an
"adventure", Frascati never fails to have a great variety of entrees, wine selection for all palates and budgets, topped by their attentive, yet unobtrusive servers and charming casual ambience."
Dined on 1/28/2014
And they do it well. Tucked into a
Russian Hill corner, this friendly man and wife operation serves superb food and serves it well. We thoroughly enjoyed our sautéed sardines and breast of duck dishes and hope to return to this enjoyable and obviously well-managed restaurant as soon as we can."

Owner's Rebecca and Jon truly know
what it means to provide impeccable service to their clientele. From the ambiance to the food, everything was well coordinated and made us feel like we were there only patrons (when the restaurant was full). Jon gave us a great table on the second floor overlooking the first floor / kitchen. Best seats in the house as the kitchen is open and you get to see the chefs in action. They had a very reasonable corkage fee as well as prix fix menu. Our waitress made great recommendations throughout the night and we left with a full stomach and a big smile on our faces. The gift bag at the end of the night was also a very nice touch. Thanks gain Rebecca and Jon!"

This was a great dining
experience. The staff was just perfectly tuned -- attentive but not hovering. My date and I split an appetizer and salad and then each had an entree -- everything was wonderful. In particular, their roast chicken rocked. Our table was in the window and we could easy converse and be heard without distraction. It was a lovely night."

We come in town once a year but
haven't been here for awhile. it was as good as we remember. Had a great little table in the room upstairs, food was a good as we remember"

I’ve been going to Frascati for
over 7 years. The food and the service have been consistently very good. You will not be disappointed. It will be a memorable dining experience"
Dined on 1/16/2014
Frascati has lovely, attentive,
helpful, gracious service staff. Food is always delicious. Nothing outrageous, pretentious, goofy. Just straight-up, well-prepared food you can count on. Plus you can talk: you can hear and be heard. Never disappointed."

Good food, great service, and
special attention to detail. We will go again and take friends."

We had the filet which was cooked
perfectly and enjoyed a bottle of wine recommended by the server. The hostess and host were welcoming as we entered and we were seated at the table requested."

One of the best local restaurants
in SF. The staff and the food were excellent!"

The restaurant is located at the corner of Hyde st. and Green st. It is easy to access because Cable car Hyde Line stops in front. It is not so large; however, atmosphere is good with semi-formal style at home. All staffs are very kind and friendly. We ordered a couple of kinds of a glass wine the staff recommended, which were all tasty and fantastic.Main dishes were also and good alright as beyond challenge. If your stomach is not so large, we recommend cheese plate with four kinds of excellenｔ."

We booked Frascati after reading
other reviews on Open Table. Very lovely neighborhood restaurant. We sat upstairs - it was fine but would be nicer to be on street level. We are out-of-towners, but if we returned I would request that (if possible). We had the pork ravioli appetizer, and the scallops and pork chop for entrees. Everything was delicious. The service was very good. Overall we were very pleased with our meal and experience."

Reservations were made early in
December for a "meet the families dinner" before my daughter's New Year's Eve wedding. Everyone was from out of town and I relied upon the rave reviews I found online when chosing Frascati's. They are well deserved. The day of the dinner we had to make a last minute change in our reservation time due to a family emergency. They were able to make the change despite our large group of 11 people - Thank you! Our server Laura was wonderful to work with. She was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The food was excellent ! We must have tried almost everything on the menu and it was all wonderful :) I loved that Frascati's had a comfortable yet fine dining vibe. I can't wait to visit again someday."

We booked this restaurant based on
Trip Advisor Reviews and we were looking for something away from the touristy areas. We were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is in a lovely neighborhood where we greatly enjoyed our walk home after a big meal. The ambience is second to none, very cosy, very european. The service was excellent and the food offered on the menu was different. My husband had ordered the fresh pasta with rabbit sausage- not something you see on many menus- and it was delicious. I myself had ordered the risotto- which is hard to go wrong with - and the pomegranate provided nice bursts of flavour. The appetizers were outstanding and again, different from the usual fare. We will definitely be back"
