Frank's Chop House is a neighborhood restaurant and for the last three years has gained a reputation for great food and professional service. Frank Crapitto serves his own homegrown tomatoes and sells the excess to his customers. All other vegetables are locally sourced as is the local Gulf seafood.… The chicken fried steak has been written up by two food writers as the best CFS in the State of Texas. The highly acclaimed fried chicken is just as good. The steaks are all Certified Angus and come with generous sides on the same plate. Frank's is a place where you will meet your friends and either in the bar or the dining room you can carry on a conversation and be easily heard by everyone at your table. Reservations are recommended but not required. Come see what Chef Albert Estrada is creating with just good local ingredients.Continued

"Generally speaking, our food was very good, from the apps through the main courses. The only exception was the Friday night special prime rib, which tasted very strongly of bacon, as though it had been smoked in a bacon grease fire. It was cooked properly (i.e., on the rare side), but the flavor was very off-putting.

Service was decent, but was ruined every time our server came to our booth, as he reeked of tobacco smoke, which ruined the dining experience.

This place still has the best CFS in town!"

"6 of us had dinner there on Saturday evening and as always, everything was fantastic. The food was exceptional. The service was great. And did I mention the food was fantastic? A few of us had the specials and some ordered off the menu. Everything came out in a timely fashion and I can’t say enough about the taste. Everything was great. This was our 4th or 5th time there and this was the first time we brought our friends. They couldn’t have been happier. The only issue we had was that they forgot our appetizers. But they eventually brought them out and didn’t charge us for them, and they comped a bottle of wine for us. But we were all having such a good time that it was no big deal.

I always recommend Frank's!"

"Food/ambiance was good and very suitable for business entertainment. Conveniently situated for inner loop entertainment. Service though was quite perfunctory and wait staff below par. Will try it again to see if we were just unlucky with the waiter."

"My only complaint was that my waiter forgot to bring the glass of wine I ordered to have with my entree. When I was finished with my meal he finally remembered! At that point it was too late."
