A word from Frank's Americana Revival
Frank's is a classic neighborhood restaurant, with big city appeal. With a recognized reputation for memorabe food and great service, the "Americana Revival menu features locally sourced fruits and vegetables, along with fresh Gulf seafood, Try the chicken fried steak! It has been highlighted by multiple food critics as "the best" in the State of Texas. The highly acclaimed Fried Chicken and Maple Brined Pork Chop are just as good.

The steaks are all Certified Angus and come with generous sides on the same plate, and the salads are almost legendary.

Frank's is a place where you can meet your friends in the bar, dine there, or experience the full menu in the dining room.

  • "I knew Frank's Americana Revival scores high for others. I thought the food was "good enough," and did not sense "culinary soul." Grillades & Grits: Described as short ribs. I had ONE. 3/4 meat, 1/4 fat. Sadly, best thing on my plate was the jus - rich, beefy, well-seasoned, imparted the only flavor in the dish. Jalapeno cheese grits: gelatinous, barely discernable jalapeno and cheese. Balsamic-roasted carrots: hint o' balsamic. Pearl onions: Two, and too minuscule to spread flavor. Pan roasted chicken: My partner described as "good." Wine list: Outstanding selection, market prices. Ambience? Dark woods, nice upholstery, etc. A ton of tables/booths crammed in one, big, undivided box. No privacy and, definitely, no 'romantic' corners."

Our service was great - our server was very enthusiastic. We ordered pork chops, shrimp & grits, and the sticky toffee dessert - all rich & delicious! Drinks were wine, the Hummingbird (ok, just some liquer & seltzer), & the Indian Scout (yum!)."

  • "We arrived at 7 and were all geared up for the Monday special of liver and onions........the waiter was in over his head as they "had not expected so many people" and did not have enough help plus...oh yes, no more liver and onions!. I had the fried oyster salad and the oysters were inedible. I didn't know that you could do that to an oyster.....whatever it was that they had done! Altogether not the best experience dining there we have ever had. Perhaps they should also not tell the guests they hadn't counted on so many patrons showing up!"

  • "Our first opportunity to dine at Frank's. Had read and heard multiple positive reviews. Extremely hospitable staff from hostess to waiter and dining room assistants. The owner/manager came by our table, introduced himself, welcomed us and invited us back. They also have 1/2 priced bottles of wine on Sundays! Pasta with braised beef and pork was very rich in flavor. Salads were excellent, and they house smoke beef that was added to a salad. Local restaurant with comfortable middle of the road pricing. Very warm decor. On a Saturday evening appeared to be mostly an older local crowd. Looking forward to going back, especially on a Sunday for the wine."

The food was fabulous and so was the service. It was quiet enough that our table of 7 could all talk and hear each other well. The special of the day was very good with a nice presentation.   • "6 of us enjoyed fine cocktails, wines, and great food. Five of us loved our choices - one had to send his filet back because it was too done. They should use a thicker cut rather than a piece that looks good-size on the plate but, at only an inch thick, overcooks too easily. The appetizer pork ribs and accompanying cole slaw were both outstanding as was the slow cooked short rib. Seafood choices were equally enjoyed by the others. All in all the restaurant is great - the perfect size, cozy and attractively decorated - with a good bar. The only real drawback for the center tables is the noise level that makes it nearly impossible to talk to someone across the table. We'll be back but reserve earlier for a quiet booth or back corner!"

  • "We went to Frank's to see a server that we'd become friends with at another restaurant. Don't let the location in a nondescript strip center fool you. Noise level is enough to feel interesting but not enough to drown us out. The owners took the time to get to know us. Salads were fresh and the bacon balsamic dressing was so flavorful I dipped leftover bread in it. The market vegetables were so colorful your mother would approve. The cauliflower puree was decadent. We ate every bite of the blackberry cornmeal cobbler. My only suggestion would be to add a few more interesting martini choices and serve the otherwise delicious sangria with a little more panache. These are trivial issues so go, ask to be seated at Ivan's table and have fun."

  • "The waiter handled our no-salt request with skill and made excellent suggestions for rearranging the menu a bit to accommodate our medically required request. We had tried the store under the earlier ownership and did not have as good an experience. The new owner is very committed to excellence and several times offered service beyond the ordinary. Our coats were handled by the owner, and if one of us looked around for our waiter who was in the kitchen, the owner would rush over to take care of our request. The food was excellent and the store had a lively energy. We will be back ... and often!"

The food: Ahi Tuna Tartare - fresh and well prepared. Not an award winner, but a solid start to our meal Stacked Romaine Salad - Excellent take on the standard wedge salad. Again, super fresh, abundant bleu cheese and bacon. Tip: more than enough to split between 2 persons Maple Glazed Pork Chop - Cooked perfectly medium, excellent flavor. Sides of mashed potatoes with corn and sauteed spinach were a little pedestrian, but tasty nonetheless Rib Eye Steak - Very flavorful, and cooked perfectly medium rare Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake - Comfort food dessert at its best"

Even the leftovers we had the next day, retained all of their appeal and yumminess. Kudos to the banana sorbet and the sticky toffee pudding desserts. A great place for comfort food!"

  • "Franks in the past has really delivered on food with excellent taste and selection. But during our last visit Frank's tried to spice things up by adding sauce to items such as the Pork Chop and Salmon. These two foods stand alone especially when cooked correctly. There is no need to add special sauces and if they do, Franks should indicate that in the description of the item in the menu."
