This time we had a new waiter and the owner came by after dinner for our personal feedback on the service. This attention to customer satisfaction is one of the reasons we are regulars. The other is the food. Frankie's always has different daily specials that make it hard to choose which to order, seafood, meat, risotto, and pastas that the chef creates. This is a local gem that I hope lasts a long time.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a Hidden GemFrankie's is new for us. We have been there twice so far. We LOVE it - the owners are wonderful and friendly. They stroll from table to table making sure we are completely pleased! Besides the menus, their specials are the best and I advise them. We had Red Snapper, uniquely prepared, Stuffed Peppers, Chicken Vesuvio and Chicken Marsala to date. We will be trying much more in the near future and we will have every special occasions there. My parent are elderly and the only thing I would recommend is the lighting is very low , so bring flashlights. We love great bread - Frankie's does need help in this area. But, that is not imporant in the big scheme of things. We rate this our Number 2 restaurant of all our current Italaian Restaurants!!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!!!!!Let me just start by saying I'm such a foodie. This place is outstanding. I live in Frankfort about 15 min away & came here for the 1st time & was not disappointed! My girlfriend & I split the seafood risotto for an appetizer, which was out of this world. Then for entree, I had the sea bass which was not fishy at all & tasted so good! My friend had the pappardelle pasta in a cream black truffle sauce which was one of the best pasta dishes she ever had. We were so full for dessert so we just had coffee, but I'm sure they are wonderful also. A young man was going around to all the tables asking about their dining & was very personable. Later finding out that it was Frankie himself. We will return!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat!!!Our evening here was wonderful! The staff is exceptional & the food is phenomenal! My husband had the Osso Buco & I had homemade rigatoni with a wild boar bolognese which were both outstanding! We had the grilled octopus for appetizer & it was so tender & good. We had tiramisu which is different from typical but very good! Frankie the owner came to our table to make sure our experience was good & it was! The food is delicious and the nightly specials are different from the menu and are always good. The food was delicious. I had the alligator raviolli special. It was marvelous! They always have some type of exotic special, besides their great regular Italian menu items. I love the decor in this place, it reminded me of Tuscany. Our server was outstanding in recommending everything. We had the mussels & app special to start off (best mussels I've ever had) we both had the Frankie's salad. My husband had the short ribs over risotto & I had the seabass. Both out of this world. We were both greeted at the table by the owner who seems to make his way to all the tables which was very nice. Been there several times and have never been disappointed. TIP... If you want a quiet meal, don't go on Wednesday night unless you call ahead to confirm. We went on a Wednesday and did not know it was 2 for 1 pasta night. Great deal for young families, but we would have chosen a different night . More kids and babies than usual and it was quite loud. There was also live music which was nice if not for the expressive young children near our table. We will definitely be returning for the excellent food and table service..... just not on Wednesdays! The buona sera when you walk in, to the Italian server who served us! We started with the clams & mussels which both were GREAT. For our entree my wife got the seabass which she said was best she ever had. I had the short ribs with the risotto. EXCELLENT! We finished of with a créme brûlée & tiramisu. Loved it all! I had the risotto & my wife had the homemade lobster ravioli. We had the burrata appetizer which was outstanding. We split a Frankie's salad which was very fresh & light! We had the tiramisu which was served different but good. The owner who is a young man walks around to all the tables making sure everyone's dining experience is great! Such a nice young man he is. It was very busy in there, so I suggestion making a resv (hence me using OT). Our server was very attentive & made every special sound delightful. It sure was!
