Frankie's Ristorantebest Italian food in any suburbWhen my wife and I arrived we were greeted warmly by the hostess who than proceeded to sit us at our desired location .our server Giovanni was fantastic and the food was as good if not better than any Italian restaurant I have been to in Chicago or New York.the ambiance was old school with frank Sinatra playing in the background.the owner Frank was fantastic and we can't say more about our experience there.we went back immediately after our first night just to try other items on the menu that we were dying to try the previous night.I would recommend Frankies to anyone looking for a wonderful night out.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service was fabulous.Servers were on-spot, not too much yet always present to swoop in take care of matters, timing was perfect. All our food was excellent, everyone thought theirs was the best and wanted to share with others. My Sea Bass was delicate, light, tasty, truly the best I have ever had. We split desserts for a great sampling, I never had such great crème brulee. Reasonably priced and definitely worth returning. We had the grilled octopus & sausage & peppers for an app & it was superb. I had the frutti di mare (pasta w/seafood) & my wife had the sea bass special & she said it was the best she ever had. Frankie the owner walks around & greets all his patrons. He is a nice young man. I was shock to see this young man as the owner of this environment. We will be back for sure!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Atmosphere and Very Good FoodI visited this restaurant for my 6th wedding anniversary; The atmosphere and service were great and romantic. However, it was pricy IMHO. My wife had the Linguini sea food mix and I had the rabbet stuffed pasta for entree; we had the octopus for appetizer; non of which I think were great but very good non the less. The desert, however, was excellent and tasted great.

This time we had a new waiter and the owner came by after dinner for our personal feedback on the service. This attention to customer satisfaction is one of the reasons we are regulars. The other is the food. Frankie's always has different daily specials that make it hard to choose which to order, seafood, meat, risotto, and pastas that the chef creates. This is a local gem that I hope lasts a long time.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a Hidden GemFrankie's is new for us. We have been there twice so far. We LOVE it - the owners are wonderful and friendly. They stroll from table to table making sure we are completely pleased! Besides the menus, their specials are the best and I advise them. We had Red Snapper, uniquely prepared, Stuffed Peppers, Chicken Vesuvio and Chicken Marsala to date. We will be trying much more in the near future and we will have every special occasions there. My parent are elderly and the only thing I would recommend is the lighting is very low , so bring flashlights. We love great bread - Frankie's does need help in this area. But, that is not imporant in the big scheme of things. We rate this our Number 2 restaurant of all our current Italaian Restaurants!!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!!!!!Let me just start by saying I'm such a foodie. This place is outstanding. I live in Frankfort about 15 min away & came here for the 1st time & was not disappointed! My girlfriend & I split the seafood risotto for an appetizer, which was out of this world. Then for entree, I had the sea bass which was not fishy at all & tasted so good! My friend had the pappardelle pasta in a cream black truffle sauce which was one of the best pasta dishes she ever had. We were so full for dessert so we just had coffee, but I'm sure they are wonderful also. A young man was going around to all the tables asking about their dining & was very personable. The food was delicious. I had the alligator raviolli special. It was marvelous! They always have some type of exotic special, besides their great regular Italian menu items. The service was very knowledgable and friendly. The owner and staff were very friendly! The marsala sauce did not have the ususal sweetness accociated with the dish. While the veal was tender, it lacked a marsala flovor.
My wife's lasagna was also bland. It had a lot of tomato sauce but overall it was unremarkable.

I love the decor in this place, it reminded me of Tuscany. Our server was outstanding in recommending everything. We had the mussels & app special to start off (best mussels I've ever had) we both had the Frankie's salad. My husband had the short ribs over risotto & I had the seabass. Both out of this world. We were both greeted at the table by the owner who seems to make his way to all the tables which was very nice. The buona sera when you walk in, to the Italian server who served us! We started with the clams & mussels which both were GREAT.
