A word from Frankie Bones Restaurant and Lounge
n the late 50’s and early 60’s there was a Carefree time in America known as Camelot, when the Rat Pack ruled and Swanky was the lifestyle. In the Big Cities and Casino towns there were American-Italian restaurants with Subway tile floors, highback leather booths and Blacked Out windows called Joints. They celebrated Big food, big Wine, hand shaken Martinis and sounds to make you Swing. Welcome to Frankie Bones. A Classic American-Italian Restaurant and Lounge. A Menu inspired by the big cities. Chicago, Vegas, St. Louis and New York. An Atmosphere harkening back to the bustling symphony of a time past, but Not Forgotten. An Experience to be shared with Family and Friends.Continued

  • "We go to FB quite often and found the service great this time around. Would recommend to anyone who likes a casual place for any occasion."

  • "Frankie Bones is our go-to neighborhood favorite dining spot. My husband couldn't stop raving about his cioppino; my beef tenderloin medallions were melt-in-your mouth tender and oh-so-flavorful! Both manager and hostess set a friendly tone for the entire experience."

  • "This a restaurant we really like . Our previous experiences have been great. We did have a new server , we usually have Shawn who is fantastic. I understand everyone has to learn, so I dont want to complain too much. However, we would have enjoyed the experience more had we had a more experienced server. Yes, we will definitely go back, but, we will choose to sit where Shawn is serving next time. The food was excellent as always."

  • "First time visit. Good and interesting food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Met owner and he was very nice too. We will be back on next trip to Ashville. Highly recommend to others."

  • "The lighting was a little to dark. I would like to be able to see my food and the menu without using a flashlight."

  • "I love Frankie Bones! What a great chef and wait staff. Local ingredients and fresh food is always on the special menu. I will continue dining here as long as I live in town!"

  • "Service was adequate at best, food was not tasty and menu too big. One of helpers laughed at me when I filled out the comment card so I can guess where that went. Won't go back soon!"

  • "We normally visit Asheville once a year and have Frankie Bones on our "to-do" list. This year we visited on a Thursday night and were pleasantly surprised to find that they had added 2 date-night specials - one a three course meal and the other a four course offering (you can add a bottle of wine to either offering for $8!). If I had a complaint it would be that there were too many choices: the regular menu, the special menu and then two date-night menus! We finally chose from the 3-course option. The food, as usual, was delicious, the service was very attentive, prompt and professional. All in all, a most enjoyable experience."

  • "Ryan was a great server. Our kids roasted S'mores table side and had a great time. The Gorgonzola dip was amazing! Old fashioned feeling in the ambiance. Would make a great romantic date night spot too."

  • "This restaurant consistently delivers great tasting food! Service is friendly, if a little slow to follow up on this visit. We like the ambience in the bar area rather than the large dining room. Prices are quite fair for the ample portions and quality."

  • "Everything went well until 3 of the 4 diners ordered wine to go with their entrees. First, we were told the bartender was backed up. Then we had to ask the manager where was the wine. Then the wine came in warm glasses, because they had run out of wine glasses and thes were fresh from the dishwasher. So the wine actually showed up when the entrees were nearly finished. Really? You run out of wine glasses?"

  • "Travis was our waitstaff and he was nice but seemed to have too many tables, didn't seem organized. My water was only refilled 1 time. I noticed other tables having to wait a good bit to get their orders taken etc. Also one at the table had the wedge salad and it was just too large to have as a side salad. There were 2 full wedges, please consider a side salad portion. Travis did warn it was large but we had no idea how large."

  • "The food was great and there was a wide variety for everyone to choose from. Great and personable service. Fun decor also."

  • "We had an 11 o'clock rez and the staff was just getting organized. I can understand things happen but if you say you're open at 11 you should be prepared. We'll eat here again but will make a later rez. My partner ordered a shrimp cocktail and it probably took 20 minutes for it to arrive. His crab cake benedict had very little hollandaise on it. We did ask for more but it wasn't the amount one usually gets in other places. Food wasn't up to their standard. I think it was just an off start, and not their usual."

  • "We had a large group and the food and service were exceptional. Thanks to Paul and Shawne for a fun and memorable dining experience."

  • "Great place to visit! Food is terrific, especially the grilled salmon. The service is great. Be sure to make a reservation if you want a better dining experience. Wonderful selection of music and good tribute to Frankie and the gang with the decore. I love Frankie Bones and it is always the go to for me and my best girl!"

  • "Very good food Mreat service from Amanda meatballs are very tasty Mussels are excellent I particularly liked the blind wine tasting in the 3 glass setup followed by the glass of wine that you choose; all for 10 bucks! Price fixed menu looks like a steal but we will try that next time."

  • "The Corner Kitchen is definitely one of our favorite restaurants here in Asheville. We've been often and will go again soon."

  • "Food was great as usual but service was poor. Server said we were not seated in his section but would serve us anyway. He was pleasant but not attentive at all. Other server had to refill our water and after waiting 30 minutes for our bill we had to go ask for it ourselves."
    Dined on 6/16/2013
  • "Everything was great and our waiter, Shawn, couldn't have been more accommodating. He gets an A+++ as a waiter. They take reservations and actually schedule them so you don't have to wait. It will become a regular for movie night!"

  • "Food is fantastic. The menu is very extensive. Try the S'mores dessert, so much fun. We had a great time and will return next time we are in Asheville."

  • "Great service & food plus they went the extra mile recognizing our anniversary with free champaign & chocolate covered strawberries. A truly excellent restaurant with friendly & efficient staff!"

  • "My fiance and I are planning to have our wedding in Asheville so we are making several trips to the area for "research." Frankie Bones was not our first restaurant to try out but it has by far been the best so far (in its price range). We ordered portobello fries that were to die for!! Then our entrees followed. He had the special herb crusted pork chops and I had the shnitzel. Everything was FANTASTIC all the way down to the herb butter. I would definitely go back."

  • "Relaxing evening. Music in background was PERFECT!!! We appreciated the level of it...not obtrusive......just adding to our dining experience."
    Dined on 5/25/2013
  • "Although our waiter tried his best, the service was poor (he continually concentrated his service on a small group at a booth next to us, that was seated after we were), we requested items that were never brought or that we had to go get ourselves (i.e. a second menu (there were 3 of us, but only 1 regular menu was left with us), sugar packets, and there were no spoons for the coffee, etc. My eggs were over-cooked (even though I asked for them to be left on the very soft, loose side), and our coffee wasn't refilled or warmed up until we tracked someone down and asked several times for it to be done. We realize that it was a busy day and cut them some slack, but this isn't the first time we've been there, and it tends to be a trend..."

  • "My family and friends were in Asheville for a dance competition and were looking for a decent meal afterward... What a treat it was to dine at Frankie Bones! The food was tasty, the prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. Will definitely make a point to dine there again..."

  • "It was our first time at FB and we were pleasantly surprised. With the name Frankie Bones we thought the menu might be laden with BBQ and rib stuff. It actually had none of that but did have a nice cosmopolitan menu and a 50's supper club atmosphere. The food and service were both spot on. I ordered the large prime rib steak and my wife the sirloin tip medallions and we’d order both again. The restaurant did a great job seating everyone on a very busy and special night. It was prom night for West Henderson High School and the place was loaded with young sweethearts. It was fun seeing all the different dresses and tuxedos and students acting on their best behavior."

  • "Consistently festive and filling, Frankie Bones combines a fun retro atmosphere with good, hearty Italian food. Start with a delicious cocktail served in your own individual shaker (often with extra) and a tasty appetizer. Continue with any of a number of nice salad choices and excellent entrees. I had the beef tenderloins, cooked perfectly rare, which I find is increasingly difficult to come by. Come hungry--they like to feed you at Frankie Bones. But you won't be disappointed."

  • "Frankie Bones is our GO TO spot. It never disappoints. The service was exceptional (as usual) and the food was great. Tonight we had the Filet Mignon and Grilled Atlantic Salmon. Both were prepared to perfection. But the greatest part was the Strawberry Lemon Bar for dessert. That was amazing! Would love to see that become part of the regular menu. Compliments to the chef!"

  • "Food was good, but the service was wonderful and the attitude of the entire staff makes you glad you came. The noise levels can be high in the back of the restaurant, but they do have a small room for small groups."

  • "As always, our experience at Frankie Bones was wonderful! We live about 45 minutes away, but it is worth the drive for the wonderful food and awesome staff. Stephanie was a great server and we hope to have her again."

  • "Food and service is very good. Waiter knowledgeable on entrees offered and their ingredients. If one prefers to be away from the hub bub of the bar and restaurant, outdoor dining on the patio is available. Patio overlooks main road but high enough above it to not be bothersome. Steaks and Italian food offerings are reasonably priced for the quality and quantity provided."

  • "We had an early dinner on Easter Sunday at 4:30pm in a nice placed booth. The Brunch crowd which we were told was about 300 were gone and we felt special since the restaurant was not crowded. It was divine. thanks to the incredible servers and the food was amazing as always."
