Diner Reviews
  • "Frankie bones was a very nice spot for dinner with my family. We were seated on time and our server was great. I had calamari appetizer and it was quite good. All in all the entire family enjoyed their meal and we would definitely go if you're again."

  • "This is a great find in the hilton head area. The atmosphere was unique old school cool. The bar area was great the food came out as ordered and was delicious. This is at top of our list to return to when we go back next spring."

  • "The food was excellent and the service was great. We had reservations so there was only a 5 minute wait time. However, in the past, we have never been able to eat there due to the high volume and 1-2 hr wait for a table. Learning from past experience, we will never show up without a dinner reservation."

  • "We read the reviews and were a little skeptical because of some comments. However, we were very pleased with our experience. Will was our server and he did a great job. Our dinners were nicely prepared. We ordered dessert, but be prepared for their generous portions (which we happily ate every bit of). We will return."

  • "We loved the ambience and feel of Frankie Bones. Every part of the meal was superb. The seafood mushrooms were so delicious with an incredible filling. The veal parm is old school Italian, pounded thin and pan-fried like my husbands Mother made. It was absolutely delicious. Lobster Mac n cheese had a homemade sauce that was decadently rich and full of perfectly cooked lobster. The dessert sampler was an excellent choice with Tiramisu, a cannoli and carrot cake. All made in house and as good as any New York bakery. If we lived in HHI, we would eat here once a week. We left with the feeling of having a wonderful dining experience. This was our best meal on HHI."

  • "We've been to Frankie Bones several times and we love it . Great food and atmosphere!"

  • "been here many times, never disappoints. went 2 nights ago and it was again awesome. menu might be biggest and most varied on island of Hilton Head...great seafood selections, steak selections, pasta selections, chicken & veal selections, over a dozen great appetizers, and wonderful desserts including the S'Mores, which are cooked by YOU over the table-brought miniature hibachi. This time I had the Veal Saltimbocca and it was perfection. Also love the Lobster Mac & Cheese or Broiled Seafood Trio. Wife and grad-school kids also adore this place. Great ambiance, maroon leather high-back booths and low-light club-like atmosphere. Very romantic, yet fun. Fantastic service, especially if you get Carr, long-time member of wait staff. Go, enjoy."

  • "Frankie Bones is consistently very good. Great place to dine. And very kid friendly. I would highly recommend it to everyone."

  • "Came here on our last visit to HHI four years ago so we thought we would come back. It was great then and even better now."
    Dined on 8/12/2014
  • "Very accommodating to a variety of requests - minor changes to meals - this was a very good experience overall and all six of us left feeling we had been treated extremely well in a restaurant that was quite busy!"
    Dined on 8/12/2014
  • "Good service at this restaurant. Good variety of things on the menu but the food was just average."
    Dined on 8/9/2014
  • "Had the early bird menu, which we always enjoy. Filet this time, however, was extremely small."
    Dined on 8/9/2014
  • "Had the best meal here by far. Great gluten free menu. Knowledgable staff. Friendly. Do make reservations, it's busy!"

  • "My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Frankie Bones. The food was good. The service was good. Timing between courses was perfect. Will return here."
    Dined on 8/3/2014
  • "Staff was not very friendly but everything else was great."
    Dined on 8/2/2014
  • "We discovered Frankie's about 5 years ago. It has never been a disappointment. The food always tastes fresh, and cooked as ordered. The selection is diverse, there is wine for every taste, the atmosphere is relaxed but not too casual. Great for any event."

  • "Unknowingly we got there with our party of 6 in time for "early dining" menu. There were many entrees on this menu for $14 and $15 dollars that included beverage (small up charge for wine) and salad/soup. Great price, menu, service and atmosphere! Highly recommend."

  • "We joined them for Early Bird dining and that menu was extensive, as was their regular menu. I think you get great value regardless of which you order from. Food was fresh and tasty, maybe arriving a tad too quick, but I am sure they have to cycle people through during peak season. Skip the house Happy Hour wine if you like wine, and I should have known better. If wine is just something you drink on occasion, you should be fine. Antipasto plate to share was enough for 4 as an appetizer and that was very nicely done. Waitress was attentive and pleasant. We will return as the whole family (adults and kids) enjoyed it."

  • "My children and grandchildren dined with you our last night in HHI. Both daughters are vegetarian and they were very pleased with their selections. The grandchildren especially enjoyed the S'mores dessert!! Wonderful to be able to make reservations during this very busy season!! Will be back our next trip to HHI!!"

  • "When we were seated, we waited quite a while for someone to even greet us. When the waitress finally did, she was so rushed I felt like we were being an inconvenience. Without us even asking, she's was like "what to you want to drink"...no mention of where we would even start looking for a drink menu. So we ordered. At the same time she rushed through the soups/salads and then handed us a specials menu. Didn't have time to tell us about them. We then waited 25 minutes for our 2 beers! Unacceptable. The night was ruined from that moment and from then on it took too long for the food and drinks. We are local and have been here multiple times. Worst by far."

  • "We had a wonderful meal and great service. Very friendly staff who kept checking on us to be sure we were being taken care of. We could have made a meal from the appetizer list. Drinks were overpriced but the food was great."

  • "We go to Hilton Head every year and have never eaten at Frankie Bones. Glad we tried it this year! Great food and we loved the ambience. Kids enjoyed their dinners and so did we. I would highly recommend making a reservation during the season."

  • "My wife and I frequent this restaurant when we come to HHI. This time did not dissapoint us the meals were excellent and the service was the same. Make sure you make a reservation as the place gets crowded fast"

  • "great time, service was a bit slow but place was hopping and food was good. Selection was huge but would have liked a few more healthier options."
    Dined on 7/27/2014
  • "We were a party of 6- and somehow got a private room which was nice since we were visiting with some locals we only get to see once a year. The strawberry walnut salad was very good. The ribs were just okay- I usually like a sweeter rib- this had a dry rub and sauce put on after cooking. The sauce was mildly spicy. It was served with a delicious mashed potato scoop that had cheese melted in (twice baked taken out of the shell). The pizza was just okay, nothing special. Key lime pie for dessert was very good."

  • "Frankie Bones never disappoints and this visit was no exception. The food and sevice was out of this world. My wife and I love this place. If you are going to visit HHI this is a must stop for dinner."

  • "We were early diners (5:30pm). The service and food were excellent and we enjoyed the Main Street area of Hilton Head."

  • "Service was excellent. Food was disappointing. Bacon wrapped shrimp was not deveined. Kids pizza inedible. Expected more from reading reviews."

  • "Love everything about this place! So glad we were able to make a reservation for our party of 6. Most places on the island don't take reservations in the summer. We had NO WAIT! The food was EXCELLENT!! We will definately return."

  • "Best spaghetti and meatballs ever and the Lobster Mac & Cheese was incredible!"
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "We've had some very good meals at Frankie Bones, but nothing extraordinary. Most recently, the crab cake appetizer was delicious, but they really need to up their game in the salad dept. Our Caesar salad was just plain boring. Bacon wrapped shrimp was very good, too. Soups are generally spot on. Service can range from attentive to not-quite-enough. We're locals, and - all said - one of the better places to eat on the island."

  • "We go to Frankie Bones frequently and it is always good food and great service. That is why they are always busy. Make your reservation early!!"

  • "We've been going to HHI for years and somehow never discovered this place until this visit. By far the best meal we ate all week, and the atmosphere was just right. Highly recommend!"

  • "This restaurant needs work on good quality. It's not a comment when the mashed potatoes are better than the New York strip steak. No flavor in the steak. The cannelloni sauce is bland like from a Prego bottle; not what I expected with three meats described to flavor. Perhaps a lesson in preparing a good meat sauce is in order for the kitchen staff. Too bad this restaurant is way out paced and out performed by it's sister and neighbor Wiseguys. Lots of potential for a great place here but kitchen is lagging now."

  • "Go here every summer at the beach and will continue to come back. Very very good."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "Our recent visit to Frankie Bones was probably the worst service ever. Our food orders were not taken properly. One person received the wrong soup and another the wrong size pasta. Our son had to wait 10 minutes for his kids steak entree after our 4 other dinners arrived. No attention to details such as asking for drink refills, cheese for pasta and more bread. We will definitely try other restaurants as it seems a shame to pay $140 for a meal and have poor service! Recommend to friends with the disclaimer that the service is poor."
