Diner Reviews
  • "We have dined at Franck's for special occasions in the past and was very excited to receive notices about "Tasting Tuesday". We were able to make reservations easily and ordered the Tuesday menu with suggested wine pairings. Everything was perfect and we enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere of Franck's so much that we did not want to leave."

  • "The brussel sprouts appetizer was to die for(I sure would like the recipe) We didn't care for the meat loaf, it looked like tuna fish, flavor was good, I think we were used to our family recipe, potatoes were good and the squash too. The creme brulae ? was not smooth and creamy, kinda grainy, but tasted good. The pasta dish was excellent, the server was great, very attentive. We appreciate you remembering Ben's B-day."

  • "We went to Franck's with another couple, and had a wonderful time. Our server was very attentive without being intrusive, and made some great recommendations to us. Everything about our experience was great, with one small exception. The kitchen/wait staff would periodically open the door outside the kitchen, and the smell of cigarette smoke would permeate the restaurant for a few minutes after that. If Franck's could have their staff not smoke anywhere near that door, I would have zero complaints about this restaurant. The food, wine, and service was wonderful - just get rid of the side of smoke and it's all good!"

  • "Everything we ordered was so delicious....wagyu beef, seabass, got cheese, brussel sprouts....all amazing. Prob the best restaurant in Utah"

  • "Great date night with my husband. Great food and service."

  • "Truly amazing. I almost felt almost like applauding after the meal was over. Can't believe I haven't been here before. Food, Lindsey our waitress, even the valet watched us stand up and had our car waiting when we walked out the door. Way beyond my expectations. Just wish they had a Sunday brunch but will manage."

  • "White chocolate infused beet soup, quail in adobo sauce, real sea bass (not cod) - the food was interesting and excellent. The casual environment is nice and the restaurant, though full, was not too noisy. We have put it on the list."

  • "The Tuesday Tasting Menu is excellent, with good food pairings, reasonable price, great service. Never had a bad meal there."

  • "Franck's departure from his namesake restaurant SHOULD be a problem...but it isn't. Everything this evening was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection by Franck's 'replacement'!. Think you don't like Brussel sprouts? You haven't tried these. The goat cheese crème brûlée and beet starter was almost too gorgeous to eat....but we're glad we did. The creamed soup with celery and blue cheese makes my mouth water as I write this and the sea bass main was perfection. A warm comfortable setting and excellent table service capped off a memorable evening."

  • "We went to Franck's because it's nearby, French cuisine oriented, and had good reviews. So far, so good. What we were not prepared for was how really GOOD the food was. Beautiful presentation, too, that matched the interesting flavors and excellent execution. It was clearly the best meal we've had in a long time - and we like to try different restaurants, including some that are a lot more expensive than this one. Franck's is not exactly cheap, but we felt more than pleased with what we got for the money. Can't comment on the wine list, because we don't drink. However, we'll be back. I also intend to come to Franck's the next time I host a business dinner. The ambiance was nice and it was quiet enough for conversation."

  • "I've heard about Francks from many of my friends and co-workers who are more accustomed to eating at higher end and more expensive locales. I was originally looking for somewhere that would highlight the flavors of the food and not mask it in overly decorative plating or loud atmosphere. I wanted my money's worth for something out of the ordinary for a couple of middle class folks who don't eat anywhere super special. While I didn't fall in love with the meatloaf (the sweet and savory combination isn't something I'm used to) I could appreciate the attention to detail, (the Brussels sprouts were amazing and worth going back). I would go back again because I enjoyed trying something different. Also, our waiter Brian was wonderful!"

  • "First dining experience at Franck's. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The service was excellent, and the food and wine were superb. We had the pork tenderloin and the meat loaf. Would highly recommend a night out at Franck's."

  • "The wine list was amazing. As well as the appetizer, we had the mushroom tart. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection. Everything was wonderful."

  • "Franck's always keeps us guess what the menu will be, But it's never a disappointment. And if your not up for tasting new stuff there is alway the Meatloaf and mouth watering Country style chicken( Just not the way your mom makes it "BETTER") The service is the best in town."

  • "Been wanting to go for some time but no special occasions have worked out to choose. Came across the tasting menu on Facebook and was very intrigued. Decided to go on a girls night and I loved it. The Brussels sprouts dish was incredible in fact I am still thinking about it. Will definitely be back and not just wait for a special occasion."

  • "I was never a great fan of brussel sprouts - until my wife and I ate them as an appetizer at Franck's. That dinner changed my opinion of that vegetable forever. The rest of the meal was as delicious, too. This was our second visit to Franck's. We will be back soon."

  • "Each dish was inventive and exquisite, fitting the bill for my foodie date and me. Our server was charming and knowledgable, and the ambiance was upbeat and elegant without being overdone or stately. Loved it!!"

  • "The fondue started us off. One order was plenty for four. Excellent. The scallops and meatloaf Were great but the very best was the sirloin. I will be back for that."

  • "Great dining experience. Frank's meatloaf & the Waygu steak were mouth watering choices. Brian the waiter was very attentive to our needs. Cheese plate, Malbec wine, entrees and Miso Pot DeCreme dessert...you definitely will get your money's worth. Highly recommended!"

  • "It's been 2 days since we dined at Fanck's and we are still talking about the wonderful evening . The fondue, the brussel sprouts, salad, meat loaf, steak, fish, and quail were DELICIOUS! The wine list and suggested pairings on the menu made for perfect matches. The staff was attentive, professional, and courteous. To top it off, the valet had the cars pulled to the driveway and turned on when we were finished. A lovely evening was had by the entire group of 5 and we'd dine again at Franck's in a heartbeat!"

  • "Franck's was suggested to me by a friend. I was looking for someplace new to go for my birthday. The service could not have been better. In fact it was because of the server that I tried and loved the quail. The food was as pretty as it was delicious."

  • "On Monday evenings, the tasting menu is offered with three courses not normally on the menu. The creativity of the courses is deliciously intriguing. During my latest visit, the first course was a chorizo-calamari dish, with bread and butter pickles and popcorn. Popcorn! Not something I would have thought of, let alone imagined, but I loved the textures and flavors. The soup--garbanzo bean and maple--was amazing. It is such a pleasure eating at Franck's because the food so well presented, tastes incredible, and leaves me feeling like I have truly tried something new."

  • "As always, our dinner was excellent and our service was outstanding. We brought in 2 friends who are serious foodies and they just kept gushing over the creative menu, the presenation, and of course the quality of the food. Our server was great as well. Thanks for taking such good care of us, Felicia!"

  • "Staff was excellent. Ambience was great for date night. Brussel sprouts appetizer is a must order. Salad and soup were equally great. We ordered the scallops and sirloin entrees and they were very good but just short of great. Both entrees lacked a distinguished "taste" to them. You could literally cut the sirloin with your fork but I'm uncertain if it was ever seasoned. Scallops were also good but lacking a real defined taste to them. Presentation of all meals was impressive and very unique. I'd go again but might ask my waiter/waitress to ask the chef for a pinch more seasoning for my entree."

  • "I was concerned when I walked in and it smelled of vinegar (they were doing some reductions). It turned out to be an excellent meal and our waitress was terrific. A couple of us showed up an hour before our reservation (because we had nothing else to do). They were very accomodating and made us feel right at home! I will be back."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at Franck's on New Year's Eve, the perfect spot for a special occasion. We loved every course, each of which had something totally new--whether an unusual food, preparation or combination. Every bite was was a unique experience. The service, is amazing. There was only one thing we would have wanted to change. At the end of the meal, we were still hungry! Now we are not folks who need enormous portions.. But the courses were each so small, that we didn't get close to satisfied. At $95 per person, we would have hoped for a little more--not a lot more, but maybe another scallop, a little more soup, more potatoes, some bread or rolls. We will be back, but hope you'll hear us and make a bit of a change."

  • "Had a party of 9 for dinner. Service was timely and unobtrusive. Food was phenomenal. All the meals presented beautifully and tasted as good as they looked. The soup was excellent. . All of the entrees were spot on. The wagyu beef was as advertised and mouth watering. The scallops were to die for! Dessert wonderful. One of our guests commented that they felt like they "were eating art". Had not been to Franck's in a long time but I will be back as often as possible. The only downside was a very loud woman's laugh in another group. I think she annoyed everyone in the restaurant, but that was not Franck's fault! For the effort in presentation, service and sheer taste, this is well worth the money, which I thought was reasonable."

  • "I enjoyed the experience. The service was kind of slow, but that is to be expected in a small restaurant like this. We were with some friends and we had a great time. The food was great, albeit a little different. I had the chocolate pasta. I liked it but didn't love it. My wife had the beef, and it was fantastic."

  • "I am not sure how Franck's delivers without their namesake Chef, but they do. The fondue was wonderful as always. In fact our French guest declared it the best fondue she has ever tasted. The pesto treatment of the escargot was a nice change as well. Crispy brussels sprouts was tasty and enjoyed by all - different from other brussels. The Tomato molasses soup was the only quibble for us in that the molasses was too sweet and overpowering for the tomato for us. Entrees - braised pork belly is for those that LOVE pork. I noticed one other table with a young one that received a hamburger and fries that my 10 yo would have enjoyed more than the meatloaf on the menu. So just remember to ask for kid friendly options. Very good dinner!"

  • "Wow! Amazing food. The soup - a tomato lobster bisque with molasses - has ruined all future lobster bisque for me. Very impressive presentation - the kind of food you photograph before you eat it and send the pictures to your friends to make them jealous. But it's not intimidating because of the warm atmosphere and friendly service. The dining room is small and yellow, with funky art and a big fireplace, and a big-screen tv giving you a live look into the kitchen. The service is super-attentive, and they make you feel like they know you - the valet had our car ready when we came outside. Book Franck's for your next anniversary. and order the soup!"

  • "We went on New Year's eve with a fixed menu so this review is specific to that experience. Still, Franck's food never disappoints. The courses were rich and delicious. The service was friendly but VERY disorganized. A disappointing turn of events for a very small place with limited dining options. Inexcusable really. However, I have been to Franks many times before and like this time, the food is the star anyway. I would go back again tomorrow and highly recommend it."
