Diner Reviews
  • "The atmosphere of the dining room hidden in the trees, the charm of the "French inspired" herb garden, the outstanding service and of course the must have fondue all make this perfect for a summer evening."

  • "Upon arrival, we were graciously welcomed by our attentive valet. As we strolled up the beautifully landscaped pathway, we were met by our lovely hostess who was kind enough to honor our request to be seated on the patio. We were immediately intrigued with the menu & house specials beginning with their signature cocktails. Our wonderful waitress took the time to introduce & recommend her personal favorites; very impressed by the Brussel sprouts--talk about a twist! Our entrees were out-of-this-world! We can't wait to go back."

  • "My wife and I chose to eat at Frank's for a special dinner. The food and service were great. We enjoyed the quiet environment and ambiance. It was a wonderful experience and we have already recommended the restaurant to friends."

  • "I have had the pleasure of dining at many of the other highly-acclaimed restaurants in the SLC area, and I have to say they do not touch what Franck's offers. A friend told me about Franck's and I decided it was time to try it. My girlfriend and I sat outside on the patio (which I have to say is THE nicest patio in town) and had a beautiful evening with great weather and even greater food. We were greeted by the manager who was very friendly and our server Felicia treated us like she has known us for a long time. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts appetizer which was so good that it was a conversation stopper (we had no room for words). The rest of the meal was truly perfect with the amazing dishes and the unbeatable service."

  • "We went to Franck's for our anniversary. First time. It was lovely out on patio under the large shady trees. The staff was really nice and gave great recommendations (though everything is amazing) and even gave us a tour of their small herb garden. You can't go wrong with the food. The brussell sprouts and porcini soup were spectacular. The entres were beautifully displayed and tasted amazing!"

  • "All around one of the best in Utah - off the main scene of downtown, but well worth the drive - a place we will be going again and again"

  • "This was our first trip to Franck's. The food was outstanding as was the service. I would highly recommend it."

  • "We went to Franck's, our second time, to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. Franck's meatloaf is my husband's favorite. He considers himself a meatloaf aficionado. Franck's, as they do with most entrees, does their own gourmet twist on the meatloaf. I had their new special, Veal Loin Milanese on Risotto with heirloom tomatoes and blackberries. It was delicious and the flavors made my mouth happy. We both cleaned our plates. The salad was crisp with a coconut dressing and French cheese that made it unique and full of flavor. They gave us a special dessert to share as we celebrated a special birthday. I highly recommend Franck's."

  • "I have never been a soup fan other than chicken noodle. So when I say the soups are fantastic I mean it! Who would ever eat a soup made with banana pudding, weird? Yes. Every time I come to Franks I am amazed at the extraordinary creativity with the soups!"

  • "I savored each bite of food that was put before me. The wait staff seemed to work together to make sure all my needs where met. I felt relaxed and taken care of."

  • "Our third time there, this time for my wife's birthday. Server Tricia was knowledgeable, always there but very quiet, just great service. Food was outstanding, as it has been every time. We will continue to go there for special occasions."

  • "My husband and I decided to try something new for our 10 year anniversary and I am so glad we did! Franck's was amazing! We had the cheese and fruit platter with honeycomb to start. The combo was very good and had a lot on the platter. It would be better for a group of 4 people. Then we had a watermelon soup and a salad that was really good. The soup had a bit of spice to it which I really liked. For yhe main course we ordered the famous meatloaf (3 kinds of meat) with blackberry sauce and the fried chicken with grits and hot sauce. They were both excellent and thr portions were HUGE! They even gave us extras for our celebration and I would highly recommend the sirloin and carrot cake flan if you can! We will be back very soon!"

  • "The food, service and suggested wine pairings were fantastic! The food is a work of art and has so many wonderful flavors. The combinations are very creative and really work. The service was one of the best experience we have ever had. The waitress was so knowledgeable and her suggestions were right on. We will be returning with our friends."

  • "Best fine dining in Utah! We were a little early for the reservation and the manager personally escorted us to the bar to enjoy a beverage prior to dinner. The entire staff in both restaurants is overly accommodating & friendly. The manager returned to the bar to escort us to our table early. The waiter was very attentive & personable! The most amazing part of the dining experience is the food! It's an explosion of incredible flavors and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the Gazpacho, Meatloaf and Rack of Lamb. Upon our departure the chef personally greeted us and asked us if we enjoyed the meal? How can you not enjoy perfection? To top it off...even the Valet remembered our car and retrieved it before we gave him our claim ticket."

  • "I brought my mother to Franck's for a late Mother's Day dinner and I couldn't believe how amazing the experience was. I knew of their reputation, but was completely blown away by the flavors, presentation and passion behind the food. We started with Crispy Brussel Sprouts; Flash fried in peanut oil, sweetened with an apple cider vinegar reduction, parm cheese and almonds. I wanted to lick the plate! We tried the soup of the evening, Passion fruit seafood chowder. Wow! Savory, hearty and sweet. For dinner, Pork Cheek Gnocchi, Sou Vide Waygu Sirloin and Southern Fried Chicken with cheesy grits and a spicy coconut sauce!! Unbelievable food! Thank you Franck's for a very memorable experience! YOU ARE TRUE ARTISTS!!!"

  • "Franck's is one of the most reliable restaurants in Salt Lake - probably in the country! The dinner there this time, though, was way over the top excellent even by Franck's standards. Not only was the food delicious (I had the Snake River Farms hamburger, which is to burgers what Ferrari is to automobiles - trust me!), but our waiter (a positively delightful woman) was as charming and attentive as any I've ever had wait on my table."

  • "I brought my wife to Franck's for her birthday. We had both moved to Utah from Los Angeles, and we are on the hunt for great places to eat for special occasions. The presentation of the food was probably the most beautiful and artistic that I've seen. The flavors were amazing too. My wife's sirloin strip was the most tender steak I've ever tasted. My own short ribs were great too though a touch salty. We had a soup which combined celery, blue cheese and a touch of hot sauce to recreate the flavors of hot wings. It totally worked and was delicious. Our dessert was a Pot de Creme. It combined guava preserves with a layer of creme freche, peanut brittle, and finally a topping of Green Tea crumble. It all tasted amazing! "

  • "We tried the tasting menu as a Mothers' Day treat. Sometimes it's fun just to let somebody else choose the menu, and this trip to Franck's completely justified that idea. The meal was terrific, maybe a little challenging for lazy palates - in short, an experience to be savored and remembered. Unlike their regular menu, these portions were not too large (a plus, in my opinion), but left us complete satisfied. In fact, beyond the posted menu, we were served an extra soup course that was a raspberry miso - a soup for adults that featured an interesting mix of sweet and sour. And the frozen butterscotch soufflé with pistachio brittle for dessert was exquisite! The meal overall seemed to be a glimpse of a good culinary mind at play. "

  • "Dined with a party of 6. The appetizers (5 of 6) were terrific, particularly the mushroom tart and brussel sprouts. The salads were undistinguished except for the excessive amount of sugar in the dressing. Of the entrees, the short ribs were great. But the meatloaf came in a serving fit for 4 people--overwhelming, to say the least. The burger was delicious but so tall that getting a mouth around it was very difficult. The fried chicken dish had enough sugar in it to make it a dessert--really? grits with sugar?--as did the sauce on the meatloaf. Dishes that could have been fabulous ruined by a heavy hand with the sugar. A fluke, perhaps. But will I go back to find out? Probably not."

  • "My husband & I received a gift card to Franck's from our daughter. We had previously dined there & loved it. Our experience was wonderful. We had a delightful, attentive server who made suggestions to try some items we wouldn't have normally tried. The split pea soup was delicious as were the brussel sprouts. Triple chocolate dessert was magnificent! "

  • "I was there for Mother's Day brunch and the menu was unique but certainly not great. The "Surprise" course of cheddar grit soup was quite good but way too sweet. Compressed watermelon was interesting but not that enjoyable. The main course was ok but not what I would expect for $55/plate and the desert was just awful. Once again, nicely plated but that last as far as the first bite for me. It was not love at first bite. "

  • "Mothers Day brunch was fantastic. We had amazing food and the service was exceptional. This has been our experience numerous times for dinner, but wondered how things would stack up on a busy holiday with a lot of groups. Our expectations were exceeded and we had a fabulous time. The food is always unique and the combinations intriguing - so much better than the other high end restaurants that have become a bit predictable. Presentation is beautiful. Always leave saying that the soup was the best I have ever had. Loved the short rib."

  • "Small cozy restaurant in a secluded neighborhood. A limited menu but an extensive wine list. The Sirloin steak was presented very well and tasted delicious. Best dish on the menu. My Pork Cheeks dish was just O.K. The Cream Tapioca Pot of Miso/peanut brittle over white cake was absolutely amazing. Service was punctual and polite."

  • "Food is very unique and delicious. The pairings the chef comes up with may sound strange at first but are incredible. Would highly recommend Franck's for fine dining, special occasions, or if you just want a great meal. The fondue is epic but easy to over due at the expense of finishing your meal!"

  • "Great day for outdoor brunch. The 4 course selection containing of a salad, salmon, NY strip steak and dessert was exceptional. The beginning surprise "fifth" course of soup and croissants was the start of a very pleasant experience. Again the overall hospitality, service and food were great."

  • "I had heard this was THE French restaurant to go to. I was not very French at all. A little too nouveau - interesting combinations in flavors and textures, but when you are looking for classic or even new French cuisine this was a disappointment. No bread or butter on the tables? May seem little, but that IS France. Noise level was quiet because it was empty at 9pm on a Friday. Not sure how the room would be if it was full."
    Dined on 4/18/2014
  • "The food is always excellent no matter what you order. The service is always very good. My only negative comment would be the corkage fee which I feel is excessive. Most restaurants charge $10 and some (like the New Yorker) don't charge one at all. Frank's charges $15."

  • "Never have you had traditional fare like meatloaf or fried chicken like they serve at Franck's The creative combinations of foods and flavors leave your mouth begging for more. The value for the quality is the best part, very reasonable price."
