The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the waitstaff were all prompt and friendly. The meals were good, but overpriced. For instance, I had the pasta with asparagus and the bowl of pasta was large, but the asparagus was very limited, maybe 2 stalks in all. The place was hopping (which we like). Chic decor (the ceiling is beautiful with rolling dark wooden beams and soft fabric, I think?). By 8:30, plenty of room (typical for Lake Forest). Very small bar area, but excellent martinis as we waited briefly for our table. Food was great. Francesca's salad is just right. I had shrimp and pancetta ravioli and my husband had veal medallions. Both excellent. Coconut cake was special. Cappuccino excellent. Our server was attentive and quietly friendly. Will definitely return. Ideal for groups of 4 or less. A bit noisyWhen we first arrived at the restaurant it was a bit wierd. We could not find a place to park because the parking lot adjacent to the spot was for another business and had very threatening looking signs around it that my wife and I decided we did not want to test. So, we had to go down the street and around the corner to park. It was raining and we had to therefore walk through the rain to get to this restaurant. So not a good start to what turned out to be a very pleasant meal. When we walked in the hostess very sweetly said, "good evening!" So that was nice. We ordered wine and the waiteress was excellent at giving us some time - not too much - to order our food. The meal came and was VERY good. They change their menu quite often, but if you have a favorite item that is not on the menu they will gladly make it for you. The pasta is always delicious and the prices are very reasonable. This visit we tried the garlic spinach appetizer, which was very good. My husband had the rigatoni with sausage and I had the cavatelli with mushrooms and artichokes. Both were quite good. Order always perfect. It's nice to be recognized and greeted at the door. Many others i have referred are loving this place wihtout a doubt.
