A word from Francesca's Campagna
Francesca’s Campagna opened in February 2000 and is the 7th restaurant in "The Family of Francesca Restaurants," bringing downtown West Dundee a restaurant with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, good, rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices. The menu features the zesty earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio.

Located in downtown West Dundee, the restaurant is poised to become "the restaurant" to dine at in the Western Suburbs. The design features a rolled-mesh ceiling, warm woods, colorful slate and geometric light fixtures. Striking black and white photographs of rural Italian life by Paul Elledge line the walls to create a comfortable, decidedly urban setting.

Diner Reviews
  • "Very disappointed with the lunch menu and limited choices...geez I couldn't even get lasagna..."
    Dined on 4/17/2014
  • "I have wanted to eat at this restaurant for some time, and finally got the chance last week. It was stupendous! The food was amazing, and the service was certainly outstanding. We cannot wait to come back and bring our spouses!"

  • "Food was great as always and the service was top notch. Our servers name was Jessica and she was a pleasure!"

  • "I went to Francesca's with 2 others for a celebratory dinner. We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. We ordered a round of drinks, and an appetizer. The appetizer was asparagus and carmelized onion bruschetta, and was amazingly delicious! Our entrees were brought in a timely fashion and were outstanding as well. We each ordered different items. One ordered salmon, another ordered mussels diavalo, and penne with vodka sauce. Everything was fantastic! Matter of fact, we ate every bite and left empty plates behind. I have been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed."

  • "This place is very small, and although the food is good, I feel crammed into a small space. Barely room to get in and out of a seat."
    Dined on 5/11/2013
  • "Very special little place with great daily menus with varied selections. If you don't see something that looks appealing - ask for something else. They will do their best to accommodate your preference. Good wine choices and friendly, attentive service. This is must for any business trip to the area for me."

  • "The Italian food is plentiful and fresh, changes seasonally and plenty of options for both carnivores and vegans. The staff is attentive and everyone gets welcomed by the manager at some point during their visit. Even when it's crowded we never feel rushed. Save room for dessert, the pistachio gelato-served on its own or in a flaky pasty is one of my all time favorites."

  • "Dined on a Sunday early evening.. Service was fantastic from our waitress and also the front of house manager was very helpful and hands on! Recommend the risotto as an app. Filet & salmon were cooked perfectly, with excellent flavors. We will return again when en route to Chicago!"

  • "I thought food was very good, but the $ was a little high."

  • "This is the forth time that we have eaten at this Francesca's and each time we hope for the quality to improve, but it hasn't. We eat at the Francesca's in St Charles and the food is very good and consistent there, however all four of our meals were okay, but not worth the money. Our waiter forgot to get the bread, messed up the drink order, didn't offer cheese for the oil and overall was poor at attending to us.. Had it not been for the water boy/dish remover, we may not have seen the waiter. Any future meals at Francesca's will be in St Charles."

  • "Francesca's is a staple - reliable delicious food and a wonderful staff and atmosphere. Highly recommended!"

  • "Always some reliable favorites AND something new. I took a chance on the roasted tilapia. It was fantastic. I am still thinking about it and trying to figure out how to make it myself."

  • "The food was delicious, our server was very friendly and we had a very nice time."

  • "We have dined here prior to this visit. Even though we sat at a table near the bar, the noise was not very loud. You can actually hold a conversation without straining to hear the other person. The entire staff, from the hostess, the waitress, the buss-boys, and even the manager, were very friendly. Very good sized portions, and the food was delicious. I would have no problem recommending this place to have a nice dinner."

  • "We ate here to celebrate Valentine's Day. The food was great and the service was excellent."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "We felt like the food prices were expensive for what you received. In one entree the spaghetti was not cooked through. We just ate the shrimp and skipped the noodles. A salad should come with the entree for the price that you pay. We will not be returning since there are restaurants just as good that give you more for your money. The service was very good."

  • "This is a great place in a homey location. There was a movie called Road To Perdition with Tom Hanks that was filmed on that block. Food was great, service was professional and the price was right. Very quiet in there loved that. White linen table cloths loved that."

  • "Loved this place. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We will definitely be back again!"

  • "We had a great time. We were celebrating our daughter's recent promotion. They had martini specials that tasted wonderful and service was quick and friendly. I checked out the menu ahead of time and found they have a wonderful gluten-free menu. Several items to choose from that were similar to the standard menu so I didn't feel out-of-place. The food was awesome!"

  • "Wonderful Italian Food. Fantastic Drinks. Great Servers very personable without being over bearing."

  • "After checking in, we were taken to the "rock star" table, the front window table. Our server, Dan, was very pleasant and met our requests in a timely manner. I ordered the Dundee martini, and he was kind enough to inform me that they were out of one of the liqueurs and had to substitute. I appreciated him ensuring that it met my taste - it was perfect! It was a quiet Sunday evening in the restaurant which added to a nice atmosphere. The only reason I marked down the service was that the entree was slow coming out of the kitchen but, it was a delicious! As with other Francesaca's I frequent, it was another great dining experience - this time at Campagna. Thank you!"

  • "This is our fifth Christmas Eve dining with Francesca's and each time it has been outstanding. It has become a tradition with our family. Keep up the good work."

  • "Delicious food, friendly wait staff - though I do recommend some learn better English, since a couple could barely understand us. It's a great neighborhood upscale late hour or afternoon hour little place. I wouldn't recommend it for intimate dinners, as it's too wide open, and the noise level is more the bar scene. But you can't beat the amount of food, and the quality, for the price."

  • "We were celebrating a big event. Table of four! Fantastic waiter, amazing food, drinks- we had Wine and an after dinner Martini- were excellent. Our table was beautiful. - we were thrilled with the whole experience and will be back soon."

  • "We have the opportunity to dine at Francesca's for lunch and have hosted dinners there as well. Always great food and service A wonderful find for anyone in the area!"

  • "Four of us came for dinner following a Christmas Concert on a frigid December night. The warm and cozy atmosphere was just as I remembered it from a visit years ago. Service was a bit slow, considering how early we were eating and how us crowded it was. But we were not in a hurry and were happy to have time to visit. The menu isn't huge, but they do a very nice job on what they offer. At our table, three of us had different chicken dishes and one had shrimp and pasta. Everyone gave their dinner a thumbs up and three of us had leftovers to take home. We like this particularly Francesca's over some of the others because of the smaller, quieter, cozier atmosphere."

  • "Francesca's is a small local Italian restaurant with small size tables, crowded, and busy waiters!!!!!!! Not a place for a romantic dinner......." but the food was awesome!!!!!. So fresh, menus prepared daily....I ordered the caprese salad with dinner and I can smell the aroma of fresh basil before it hit my table....if the delicious tastefull dishes don't get you.....watch out for their dangerous martini's.....I tried the Dundee Special....one martini is not enough....Definitely need reservations...... Cant wait to get back and try their risotto........West Dundee's best hidden secret......"

  • "Food was creatively prepared and well seasoned. Service was good. The only negative was that our server was visibly annoyed when we only ordered entrees with no sides or appetizers."

  • "Francesca's Campagna never disappoints! From Mike greeting you at the door, to Carlos behind the bar and Kate, David, and Jessica waiting to serve you, this restaurant serves top notch food in a very comfortable environment. Cannot wait to head back again!"

  • "We had a great meal! Food was wonderful as usual. The server was extremely friendly and very attentive. He asked about the allergy concern the first time he came to the table, which I like that I didn't have to tell him. I liked that the restaurant actually read the comments with the reservation."

  • "From the moment we walsked in and was greeted til we left our group of 8 was treated like royalty! Our server was fantastic! Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Francesca's Campagna has been a long-time favorite. The last two visits, however, revealed a marked decline in the food. The dining experience is still very good, but the entrees fail to impress. The menu no longer carries an array of beef dishes: it consists - to a large extent - of seafood, pasta, and chicken. That's a real shame, since some of the best beef I've had in the area came from Francesca's. I had the pork chops which were covered with beans (an odd accompianment, to be sure), and were over-salted. One of my dining companions was similarly disappointed. The service was sharp, friendly, and attentive. We can only hope for an update in the menu, and a bit more competence in the kitchen."

  • "My wife is gluten free, not by choice, but by necessity. The menu offers great GF options, but the waitress treated it too casually."
    Dined on 11/23/2013
  • "The food was great and the service quietly attentive. Treated like a regular and friend. It was a special occasion and they more than exceeded expectations. The management and wait staff made sure that all was ok and surprised us with some special treats. Felt like I was at a fine dining restaurant in France"

  • "We have eaten at several of the Francesca restaurants in the past. As expected, this one did not disappoint us.....great service and great food, as we've come to expect from this family of Scott Harris restaurants. They were able to prepare a meal for me which I inquired about which is sometimes on their menu, but wasn't on this particular evening...a true sign of customer service excellence! We highly recommend this restaurant, try it... you'll like it!"

  • "Host was personable and a joy to converse with. Great waitress. Food was unique and interesting. Great wines. Menu not what a meat and potatoes person would enjoy."
    Dined on 11/4/2013
  • "Everything we tasted was delicious. They offer a modest menu and a decent wine list. We were seated right by the server station so the ambiance was not as romantic as we would have liked. Our server or a bus boy/assistant stopped by very often also. Some people enjoy being constantly checked on, but at a finer dining establishment, the customers should be left to enjoy their food. Even though we ordered drinks and an appetizer, we were rushed through our meal. Luckily the food made up for this issues, everything was fresh and prepared perfectly."

  • "Quality of food was good. Menu was quite small. Tables were very close together. It was quite loud."
