The menu features the zesty earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio.

About The Francesca’s Restaurant Group: Founded in 1992 by Restaurateur Scott Harris, Francesca’s Restaurant Group has grown from a small, welcoming Italian restaurant on Chicago’s North Clark Street to a restaurant group of three concepts across 33 locations and four states. I've been to this Mia location many times and had great meals, but not for a while. The food was good, I had the salmon and it was served "warm", not hot. The flavor was good, but nothing that exceptional. Our server was rushed and we could barely understand what he was saying. No mention of specials, just what do you want to drink and eat. My friends felt the same way. I will go back, but this visit was more of a miss than a hit for me.

I went with two others to enjoy their $4 pasta entrees. We started with the complimentary bread and olive oil, ordered an arugala pizza as an appetizer and then we each chose a different pasta from among the five featured for $4. All were quite good and the portions were surprisingly large for that price! Our total bill was delightfully small. We were seated right by the host station which elevated the noise level as they had to speak up for some of the incoming guests to hear them over the noise of the restaurant. But, we were able to focus on our table conversation and ignore those distractions. Our server was very attentive although he appeared disappointed when we declined to order dessert. We were just too full.

A great date night destination for my wife and me. Atmosphere is cozy/casual and romantic. Service was great and the food was delicious. We went on a Saturday night a little after 9 and it wasn't crowded at all. However, I think that had there been a theater performance in the neighborhood that would not be the case. Wine selection was very good and reasonably priced.

Francesca's was a good choice because of the quality of their menu with a large range of Italian food and wines. The ambiance and the service were really good. I'd suggest this restaurant for especial occasions, family meetings and romantic dates. Overall, it's worth in terms of quality-price. I'll visit it again for sure. It's one of the best options in the Edge Water neighborhood.

This just isn't as good as it once was. Our ceasar salad had very little dressing (was there any?) with croutons with very little seasoning. The romaine lettuce however was fresh and crisp. Our pizza was good, but it could have been cooked longer.....It didn't have that 'burnt oven' look or taste. Neither of these items were on the brunch menu (what, really?). It was our server who persuaded the kitchen to make them. The kitchen did so but the server said they were working on "the large party in the back". We didn't feel appreciated.

It isn't exactly fair to rate the noise level since we had an early thing to get to and were therefore the first (and for a while, the only) people there for dinner. Nevertheless, service was impeccable and the food was so delicious! I love Francesca's, but had never been to this location. Really, couldn't have been better!

The Francesca menu is very reliable. The specials menu is fairly extensive, which is nice. My only criticism is that there are not enough non-meat pasta choices. I believe there was only one, which I find rather odd. I am not vegetarian but I do not eat a lot of beef and pork, so some variety along these lines would be welcome.

My husband's family were Italian, from Taylor Street, and there were many great cooks among them. So when we go out for Italian food, he has high standards indeed! We recently met friends at Francesca's on Bryn Mawr for dinner, and it was absolutely wonderful. The salmon was perfectly cooked. The pasta dishes were fresh, vibrantly spiced, just outstanding. The tiramisu was to-die-for. Our dinner companions will be visiting Francesca's on Taylor Street soon, now that they have experienced the Bryn Mawr location. We are relocating to Denver next week - when will Francesca's open a Denver location?! We will be back for dinner again, when we visit our friends in this great city of Chicago.

The carpaccio appetizer -- with avocado, capers, tomatoes and shaved Parmesan -- was very tasty. Each of the four of us got a fish entree, and we all cleaned our plates. The portions weren't huge -- you really do need an appetizer or salad to make a full meal -- but the preparations were thoughtful and complimented, without overpowering, the taste of the fish.

Before going to Edgewater's amazing RedTwist Theatre, we make a point of going to Francesca's on Bryn Mawr. We are able to walk or take the bus there but Francesca's offers valet that's good during the show and is also a dining partner with the theatre, so you can get 15% off your restaurant bill, too. I had a special salad-like dish - wonderful cubes of juicy watermelon on a bed of prosciutto and drizzled with balsamic. OUTSTANDING. then a small pizza with eggplant and anchovy fabulous. had to take 1/2 the pizza with me but it's a terrific "leftover pizza", too! Other diners had calamari, a special roasted corn summer salad, a chicken dish for one and a risotto for the other ... We were quite satisfied. Service GREAT!!

That's on Thursdays. And they remind you that you can take home any remainder. And on a daily basis, things are very well priced and the portions are very nice. Some of the best presented carpaccio. Pastas are excellent with many fresh ingredients. They are a little light handed with the seasoning but fresh pepper and Parmesan are offered liberally and there's a salt shaker. Nice cocktail list, great desserts. Pizzas are well priced and there are many DIY combos. Very friendly service at all levels. Dessert list tempts most everyone. Great place to snack or dine regularly.

We have gone to Francesca's Bryn Mawr several times and usually prefer it to the other locations of Francesca's, because it is quieter and less crowded. Two non dairy eaters ordered what they thought was the perfect item on the menu: ravioli stuffed with vegetables. It listed all of the ingredients and no cheese was in it. The server confirmed there was no cheese. When it came filled with cheese, the server apologized and said it would be replaced immediately. It took forever, and the rest of us had finished. It was a fiasco. Server offered free dessert but there was nothing dairy free. A manager should have gotten involved and taken their dinner off of the bill. We will not return to this Francesca's.

and the service is gracious. They really try to please. We had dinner on Father's Day, so it was a little less perfect as far as the service. We all liked our food, and took some home. My favourite Francesca's are this one, the one on Clark, and the one on Taylor. Truly a neighborhood gem at reasonable prices. Last Thursday I took my girlfriend for lunch, and we had the best red wine in the house at 50% of the price! We didn't know about this until we got there---pleasant surprise.
