A word from Francesca's Bellezza
Nestled in the quaint downtown shopping district of the Village of La Grange, Francesca's Bellezza opened its doors to guests in March of 2009. As the 17th addition to the Chicago-based Francesca’s Restaurants group, Francesca’s Bellezza offers guests “simple rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices”; a winning recipe for Francesca’s since 1992. Their menu features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. A carefully chosen collective of wines and several signature martini’s make the perfect accompaniment to an outstanding dining experience.

Italian for beauty, Francesca's Bellezza lives up to its name featuring an intricately designed bar, lofty ceilings and a quaint trattoria feel. Striking photographs of rural Italian life by Paul Elledge line the walls to create a comfortable, urban setting throughout.

Diner Reviews
  • "This Francesca has a lot going for it in terms of location, service and ambiance. What could be improved is food quality. I had the Farfalle with the vodka sauce, salmon and asparagus, priced at 14.99. What I got was a big bowl of farfalle decorated with lovely green herbs and bits of red pepper, but disappointingly small portions of the salmon and asparagus. For the price I suggest much more of the "main attractions"--surely doubling the salmon and even tripling the asparagus would not be cost prohibitive and would make the dish more substantial. As an aside, three of us had this dish and three of us gave it a "ho hum" in terms of thrill value."

  • "The asparagus/bleu cheese/tomato salad was wonderful! A nice balance of flavors and textures, the dish was visually appealing and a great way to start the meal. My pasta, however, was merely adequate. I ordered ravioli tartufati with great anticipation. The sauce, while rich and velvety, had no garlic flavor. The pasta dough was thinner than your average ravioli and because it was slightly overcooked, melded into the sauce and the filling resulting in little flavor and a disappointing mouth feel. I would, however, give Francesca's another try. The staff was friendly and attentive, the beer list included some lesser-known breweries, and the prices were less than I expected."

  • "Great for a date night! Our waitress was friendly and personable and gave good recommendations. There was live music as well. We will be going back!"

  • "Wait staff wasn't very responsive. For example, we asked for more bread when the entrées were brought out and it never came. Also was not offered seconds on our drinks. Food was good though."

  • "We met with a group of relatives including a one year old and we had a very enjoyable evening for dinner. The service was wonderful, very attentive and the quiet atmosphere allowed us to converse and share conversation without straining which is too common these days. We had a pleasant evening!"

  • "We scheduled an important dinner meeting only to find ourselves unable to hear one another"

  • "I have thought this for a while. The food used to be excellent and a treat, when the company was smaller. But not mass production has it just marginal. I have experienced this at many of their locations. I keep going back because I think it should or would be better but it is not. I have a gift card to use and once that is done, I will move on to another spot."

  • "I always enjoy the different Francesca 's and this was the first time to the Lagrange location. Very nice, similar to the others and we were able to take our time and the food was great. "

  • "Dined recently for lunch with good friends. Service was terrific. Chicken marsala is not on the menu, but a great little secret is that Francesca's will do their best to accommodate requests. Friend who ordered it was thrilled with it. We had the Wed. luncheon special, which includes soup or salad, entree, a little bruschetta, and dessert. Salad was a bit ordinary, but the rest of the food was really nice. Would highly recommend the Francesca restaurants for small and large groups."

  • "My mom. And sister enjoyed. The brunch buffet. They were able to try offerings they may. Not have ordered otherwise"

  • "We went for a pre-mother's day dinner and had a good time. The food and wine were excellent, but I cannot say the same for our waiter. We had to ask the bus-boy to find our waiter three times (since he never came to check on us). The few times he did come to the table he was rude and/or forgot our drinks. Again, great food and atmosphere, but the service was a huge disappointment. "

  • " We come here fairly often and are never ever disappointed in the service or the food. I have been to other Francesca restaurants, but this one is the best. La Grange has quite a few restaurants from which to choose and for those seeking Italian, there is no better choice."

  • "We enjoyed dinner at Francesca's Saturday night. The Salmon with Calamari was very good as was the Minestrone soup. Lava cake dessert was excellent but a very small portion for the price."

  • "Return visit after a five year absence was a great experience. Ambience and food offerings have improved. Will be returning in months rather than years. Try the Chicken/Pasta combos - always winners."

  • "Service was extremely poor today. Waitress asked for our drink order two times before anyone was seated, as I sat down and shortly after that. Sat in a corner where we all had to read names left by kids, we hope, in crayon on the bricks around our table. At the end of the evening our waitress was hard to find. Other wait staff and hostess were much better."

  • "Outstanding meal! Every morsel was delicious! Calamari was perfectly prepared, not chewy at all, just right. Salad of pea pods, tomato and cucumber was delightfully fresh and crispy. Loved the prosciutto with mushrooms, tender and not too salty. Halibut was divine, all flavors outstanding. Topped it off with the chocolate lava cake, again just right, not overwhelming or heavy, just perfect! I've seldom been SO impressed by such a meal."

  • "Since we dined on Friday and it's Lent, we all had fish or a vegetarian pasta dish. The food is authentic Italian cuisine. Service was good. The place was filled. Noise level was moderate for being full."

  • "Went here for a girls night. The portions were huge so of course we ordered way too much food, we could have just had appetizers and been full. We had the calamari fritti which was good and the carpaccio tre-colore was melt in your mouth delicious, beautiful presentation and lovely tasty toppings, I'm not even a carpaccio person, although maybe I will be now. The pizza quattro stagioni was ok, crust was kind of mushy in the middle, it was much better after it sat a long time and as a left over heated back up in the oven. The chicken desperata was the best entree we ordered, it was superb, I had the salmon which was ok, a little too heavy for my liking and we had a penne pasta dish can't remember which one but it was not good at all."

  • "Fit for a nice date, to a night out with the girls, it's just a little bit pricer than your average place but well worth it for the nicer quaint dinning experience from the great food to the tasty cocktails, to the excellent service. Not your run of the mill dinner outing, so well worth it!"

  • "....food was very good....I enjoy the "Francesca's" restaurants and have been to five of them at different locations, the LaGrange location is closet and convenient ....it did take quite a while to get our cocktails-15 minutes....the excuse was - we have a new bartender-I ordered a ' brandy old fashion ' and the server brought me a brandy alexander-I sent it back and it took more time before my cocktail was correct ....server and bus staff were there for our needs...."

  • "Too many other decent Italian places in the area with good service, much better food, and far more fairly priced. Did not get first course for 45 minutes! Then, it was unimpressive..."

  • "Beware of this restaurant, unless you are a millionaire and don't mind throwing away money for questionable food, I would not recommend Francesca's. My wife and I went their for Valentines Day and I have to say that I was extremely displeased. if you are a Carnivore and like meat with your meal Francesca's is not the place for you. The only people i would recommend this restaurant to would be skinny vegetarians who are more into presentation than substance."

  • "Great New Years Day Dinner. As with any of the Francesca's, the food is great, the menu has something for everyone and reasonably priced. And don't forget the full bar."

  • "Waited 30 minutes for table even though we had reservation. Given wrong check at bar which bartender insisted was correct until other bartender who waited on us came up to correct. Felt really rushed to order, eat and leave. We had just sat down and waitress already asking if we were ready to order. One of the ladies ordered a glass of Asti which was flat when it arrived. She sent it back and got back what appeared to be her same glass but with some Prosecco added to it for bubbles. Completely different taste! Waitress asked for our entree orders at the same time we ordered appetizers. Entrees were delivered the second we had finished our appetizerswhich were very good, entrees were luke warm and tasted just OK. Not up to normal tonight!"

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at Francesa's on New Year's Eve. The staff was friendly, and we were seated promptly at our reservation time. The server was great, and they were happy to make adjustments to my order to fit my vegan diet. The food was excellent. The only negative was that the tables were spaced too close together. It felt as though we were dining with the couples on either side of us. So, it was difficult to have a private conversation. The Francesca's in Frankfort seems larger and offer more spacing and elbow room. We plan to stick with that location in the future. Oeverall, it was a good experience, and we would recommend this restaurant."

  • "went for a late lunch to tide us over til our late night dinner!!The restaurant was so warm..considering it was -3 out.The window table had a great view of the snow and we really felt like we were in a winter wonderland.Abel was our server and he suggested a bottle of wine....$10 off....that really completed the day. My sister-in-law and husband usually go to the location in Bolingbrook, which they like..but now La Grange is their favorite location! They can'y wait to come back on a Thurs night for live jazz."

  • "If you like to try unusual preparations that you won't find at other Italian restaurants, this restaurant will appeal to you. Even if you're palate is more "steak and potatoes", you can still choose and enjoy one of their pizza selections (as I did). The service is their strong suit. Staff are friendly and attentive; service is prompt. Warm food is served warm and is presented well. We happened to visit on a Monday evening, which is "Magic Monday". A magician moves from one table to the next, performing several magic tricks. He had us completely baffled. My family and I have visited this restaurant several times, and have always had a good dining experience. We'll be back."
