A word from Francesca's at the Promenade
Francesca's at the Promenade opened its doors to quests in August of 2009, becoming the 19th restaurant to join The Francesca's Restaurant Group. This west-suburban outpost offers guests “simple rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices,” which has been the winning recipe at all Francesca’s locations since 1992. An eclectic wine list and one-of-a-kind martinis are the perfect accompaniment to an outstanding dining experience.

About The Francesca’s Restaurant Group: Founded in 1992 by Restaurateur Scott Harris, Francesca’s Restaurant Group has grown from a small, welcoming Italian restaurant on Chicago’s North Clark Street to a restaurant group of three concepts across 33 locations and four states. Based in Chicago, Francesca’s Restaurant Group currently owns and operates 23 Francesca’s Restaurants, five Davanti Enoteca, and five Glazed and Infused locations.

The food was Good & priced well! The portion size was also excellent. The service was so so. When I walked in my guest was running 10 minutes late. Instead of seating me the lady told me to come back when my guest arrived. I was seated immediately after my guest arrived but would have appreciated being seated or shown the direction to the bar.

Service was the star of the show here. Food was very good but not outstanding (could just be what I chose). My wife's Cesar salad was very large (2 could split easily) and very good. I did see a few things I would like to try but just a note that you won't see some of the typical Italian entrees. So if you have someone who is looking for spaghetti & meatballs or lasagna they may be disappointed. I thought the for what I paid it was certainly very worth it.

Had another great meal here. Had burrata cheese appetizer for the table with grilled peaches. Yummy! Delicious grouper for my entree. The lava cake with berries & raspberry sauce for dessert. Only issue was the waiter rushing us. It was also pretty noisy, but not enough to make me not want to return.

Food was excellent, this being the third time we have visited Francesca's. A really nice feature is that the menu is constantly changing with new items to try. You never get bored by the same menu. I had the Seafood Pasta in a spicy marinara, and my wife chose a pasta with seashell pasta, peas, mushrooms, and prosciutto in a creamy cheese based sauce. Both were outstanding!

Our group of five was given a table in a small alcove right off the entrance and it turned out to be great. Very conversation friendly. Our server was excellent and actually had a sense of humor. All the food was delicious, the only criticism were that the portion sizes were enormous -- not what we really wanted but we all took some home with us. All in all a good experience.

Our server was very nice but we had to ask for things 2 and 3 times. Never did our server bring us our food, it was always a bus boy or food runner and we were missing something we needed in order to begin enjoying of food. I even went to the bar to get a drink, the bartender saw me, nodded at me and walked away to help someone not in the bar and didn't return. We asked for the check, said we were unhappy, the manager took off our $9 appetizer on our $150+ bill- thanks :( and never came to see us. I stood at the front to speak to the manager but she never appeared. Three guests waiting to be seated asked why we were unhappy, and ended up leaving with us since there was no one to seat them. A very poor showing, I don't think we will be back

My husband and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary at our most favorite neighborhood restaurant, Francesca's at the Promenade. Hubby opted for the Steak with Blue Cheese and I had their Tilapia special. One thing we both enjoy about Francesca's is the continual high quality and consistency of their food. They go out of their way to create a special atmosphere and have a thoughtful wait staff. Thank you for the blueberry sponge cake and ice cream for dessert! It was delicious. We'll be back again soon!

Once again service was great Their gluten free menus is extraordinary, but this is the third time I ordered their Veal Medallions only to find out they did not have them. The Veal Scaloppini was a substitute and it was nothing more than a breaded piece of veal fried with little unrecognizable sauce. All in all everything else was great from the warm bread to the appetizer and dessert made up for the short coming of the chef. Everyone should try the peach tort .

My family had a special occasion dinner at Francesca's. The food was nice and overall we had a good time. Our main server was friendly and made good recommendations. However, the staff in charge of bringing the plates, water, and clearing the table was 'rough'. Plates clanked as they were dropped down and were cleared before we were really finished. They were efficient but as a guest I felt more rushed to leave than invited to stay and have dessert. It felt more like the army than a nice restaurant. We had a nice dinner, but a gentler table service would have made a difference.

We have been to several of the Francesca's Restaurants, from the Frankfort location to both of the Naperville locations. This one, by far, had the most spacious interior of them all. Instead of being cramped into a small table in between many other busy tables, we had a nice big booth for our party of 4, and we had enough table room for our water glasses, wine glasses, AND our food! And the food was amazing, as usual for a Francesca's!

This location just does not stack up to the other locations. The risotto was under cooked, the onions were almost raw and it had no creaminess too it. Would rather have waited 10 more minutes to have it cooked properly. Waiter was friendly and very attentive.

My husband and I have been to the Francesca's at the Promenade several times and every time we leave, we both say to each other that we "never have a bad meal here." The food is consistently great and the service is very good. We prefer to eat in the bar area (which is raised and has a great view of the restaurant). We will certainly be back with more friends.

Needed a quote dinner and the wife needed to carbo load before running her triathalon the next day. Francesca's at the Promenade always is easy to get into and the food is always good enough. I didn't love my ravioli with truffle oil, but it was okay. The wife had spagetti and it was good from what she told me. We'll be back, but I won't be going with the truffle oil dish next time.

My wife and I are huge supporters of the Mia Francesca group of restaurants. We have dined in at least ten of them through the years. We enjoy the food tremendously, it's freshness and competitive pricing. Unfortunately, the restaurant at the Promenade in Bolingbrook does not seem maintain Mia Francesca standards. The evening we were there, the floor was full of food crumbs, the bartender was absent and the waitresses were making drinks and the overall experience seemed to be just blah. The food lacked the freshness I have come to expect. The dishes seemed to have spent to much time on a shelf and they came almost dried out. The evening was far from busy so, there was little excuse for this type of food presentation.

My wife had stuffed ravioli and only had about 5 ravioli The food was all excellent, but for the price would have expected to get more of what is good The Calamari appetizer was very good The fire alarm did sound, but the staff said it happens all the time, which has to be annoying The staff was very good, attentive

Booked on OpenTable and it never stated the restaurant would close at 8:00pm. Reservation was for 7:15 but had the option of a 8:00. Once we arrived we were a little rushed into ordering and finally told us the kitchen staff leaves at 8:00. Nobody told us the entire restaurant closed at 8:00pm upon our arrival or booking online. Kinda rushed our dinner plans with friends, which was disappointing. I do love the food and will always return. Beware of booking online however!!

Francesca's at the Promenade has been my favorite restaurant for years but I am sad to say the food and service is declining and no longer competes with other local restaurants, including the nearby Ted's Montana Grill, which has tastier food and superior service. I had roasted trout with fresh sauteed spinach. The trout was decent but the spinach was completely uncooked, not even warm. My husband had the pork shoulder with risotto. The meat portion was tiny and I do mean tiny. The risotto was tasteless. He filled up on bread. I was surprised at how long it took the wait staff to initially come to the table because the restaurant was empty at 5 pm. Our last few visits to Francesca's have been disappointing. I can no longer recommend it.

There are many Italian restaurants in the neighborhood of this Francescas but we had never been to this one. One of the main reasons we chose this restaurant is that they had Gluten Free choices as my wife has celiac. We went for mothers day with a reservation and did not wait. Ordered three different meals and all picked off of each others plates, at one point we even all rotated our dishes clockwise for the next person to finish. The portions were good and the food very well made. The restaurant itself is very well decorated and noise level was at a low murmur, very easy to hold a conversation at your table.
