"We are foodies and bravely took our 8 year-old and 11 month-old for an early dinner the other night. The restaurant/staff couldn't have been more accommodating/helpful. Our waiter's drink suggestion came with the caveat that if I didn't like it he would drink it himself. He didn't stand a chance - I LOVED the cocktail and ordered a 2nd. The owner stopped by our table to marvel at the fact that we had ventured out with the little ones. We are big believers in children sharing adventurous culinary experiences from an early age. Our son loved the pizza - as did we! The crust rivals Pizzeria Mozza. What a great evening - such a treat. And the location is so close to the beach and the promenade - which makes for a fun family night out."

"I always love Fraiche. I had the pork chops this time, which was divine. My husband had the ... dang I can't remember, I was so obsessed with my pork chop. HAHA. Anyways I barely paid a attention since I was in a pork chop haze. I still think the lamb papperdelle is my favorite and I kind of wish I'd gotten a plate of that to go cause now I'm thinking about it and getting hungry. And of course dessert was the trio of creme brulees which you'd have to be crazy not to get... in fact all six of the tables closest to us ordered the same dessert. Not sure if it was my very loud "Hellzz Yeah" when our waiter asked if we'd be having dessert or just the fact that everyone knows it's divine. Great place. We'll be back."

"We had a lovely dinner at Fraiche on a Wednesday night. We were seated promptly and had an outstanding, attentive waiter. The mussel appetizer was outstanding, served with toasted bread. Both the monkfish and the rib eye steak were very good. The chocolate "package" dessert was terrific. In our experience, the service at Fraiche has been variable -- from unacceptable to outstanding. Perhaps the restaurant is making a strong effort to improve. We had an excellent experience."

"Have not been to Fraiche for quite sometime. Last night, the food was surprisingly good. The monkfish was cooked to perfection. Simply delicious! The prime flatiron steak was tender and tasty. Pizza with pesto sauce and Italian sausage was intensely flavored and crust had a nice texture. Passion fruit cheesecake was delicious and very fresh. The waiter made good recommendations (monkfish and cheesecake) but didn't come around to check our food until just about finishing the last bites. When I had started to compliment his recommendations, he already turned and walked away without paying any attention. Also, the pizza (appetizer) came a few minutes after the entres were served. All over, we enjoyed our dinners."

"We used to really like this restaurant and have been there 4-5 times in the past two years. However, what started out as a really great place with wonderful food is now an ok place with somewhat overpriced, perfectly fine food. They need to put the effort back in."

"Fraiche in Santa Monica has always been one of my favorites. The food is excellent and the happy hour is great....and Carlos is probably the best waiter in town. They are going through some changes now so it is not as smooth as it was in the past. Hopefully the new manager will get things on an even keel once again."
