Four Winds SteakhouseAbsolutely Wonderful!Best steak I've ever had. We go to Four Winds Steakhouse when we're in the area. It's a little remote, but well worth the trip. Not really a quiet romantic get away, but the beef is always perfectly cooked and the sides are plenty to share with at least 4. My husband was impressed with the IBC float for desert. The scenery is peaceful and it just gets better. The service is wonderful and we always love our server, J.B.! The creamed spinach is a must to try! The steaks are always cooked to perfection. My personal favorite is the filet mignon. It almost melts in your mouth. To wrap the night up, try their bread pudding. You get the sense he is only interested in "regulars" and when I asked for a Michelob Ultra I was told that he does not offer that in a very haughty tone. I didn't realize Wills Point was so uppity and the question is why don't they offer that beer it is very popular especially among women. Anyway, that is the only downside. I thought it was probably me being sensitive, but when we left the other three people dining with me commented on our servers attitude and specifically how he spoke to me about the beer. We arrived, hosted was seated at desk, remained seated, informed her of our name and reservation, she kept her head involved in her reservation books, flipped a guest check up on the menus, she sat a little longer, conversed with another server who stopped at desk, and then arose, grabbed menus and escorted us to our table. Sitting behind a desk can be understood, but when the hostess does not present a hearty greeting, that is poor service. If she would have communicated what was transpiring, example: folks your table is almost ready", or anything verbal. The food came perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection and tender and juicy. Nice selection of appetizers and salads and above average selection of desserts. The settings is beautiful and very romantic. Service, both in the bar and at the table, was knowledgeable and always with a smile. First off, we were an hour late arriving for our reservation due to bad GPS directions. The restaurant was very thoughtful when we arrived though and never made us feel bad about our GPS nightmare. For all others this place is 1 block off of I-20 exit 517. :-)
The food was incredible. The steak is like butter and ohhhhh sooooo good! Our table ordered 2 filets, Turbot (fish specialty for the evening) and pork chops. All were EXCELLENT! Next time (and yes there will be a next time) I will order the biggest filet they have. Oh and don't let me forget to tell you that you HAVE to order the creamed corn. To die for!!!

That room would be more suitable for large groups as there is no view like there is in the main dining room. That's the reason why the ambience is rated low on this review. The only critique we had was the hostess sitting at the door was not friendly and looked bored. She barely addressed us when she seated us .. we weren't sure if she was talking to us when she took off for our table. She also didn't speak when we left. She needs to be reminded that she is the restaurants first and last impression. Also--our waitress was very sweet but we felt like she forgot about us half way through our dinner service;she recognized it as well as she comped our dessert (we didn't ask her to do that - but that was nice). Overall this restaurant is our favorite...Love Love Love the food and atmosphere/views.
