The wait staff was very professional yet friendly. When you compare the pricing with Capital Grille on Broad Street , or The Prime Rib - the lower noise level and the great staff at the Fountain are playing in a different league. I was a bit dissapointed however. The good was good but it wasn't great and I don't think lived up to the prices. It was only small things such as the fish being slightly overcooked and vegetables underdone but to be honet I expected better. We went at lunchtime so it may have been a different shift in the kitchen. It did not disappoint. The service was attentive and helpful, the food was delicious and filling, and the atmosphere was romantic and luxurious. As a final treat, we were given complimentary chocolates and a box of truffles upon leaving. As one might expect, the meal was fairly expensive, and I ended up spending $200 after tax and tip for the two of us, although you could certainly eat for $60-70 per person if you don't want to break the bank. When the staff saw that we had exchanged gifts, they brought us complimentary desserts with candles and their chocolate Happy Birthday script. Then, they thanked us for allowing them to host ou celebration! He has been there 30 years...and his service was excellent. the food was wonderful. What a great restaurant! and across the street was the logan circle and fountain. The Squab was delicious and I would have thoroughly enjoyed a larger serving. I have been out of the area for the past 3 years and almost forgot what true elegant dining was all about until Saturday night. My wife who is a fairly picky eater with multiple food allergies was treated extremely well and she enjoyed all the chef's preparations. DinnerDoctor had her favorite: oysters, which were magnificent Cape May versions, with three balanced sauces. The crab meat cocktail was by far the best we've ever had. MrSeriousFoodie had the roasted Virginia Squab and Foie Gras au Poivre which was a nicely balance dish, with the game bird done perfectly. Wine by the glass, albeit much too expensive, were matched well with each course.
