Foundry On ElmFun atmosphere and great foodVibrant atmosphere, and creative and delicious menu options. Service was excellent. There was a full crowd on a Sunday night, and noise level was high, but we were still able to enjoy a lively conversation at our table for six.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Meal in BostonEach and every time we visit the meal is better than the previous visit...and the first time was incredible. I have yet to be disappointed in a single bite or sip. The "Devils on Horseback" are to die for, simply the best bite of food I've ever had. The Beef Bourguignon is the best entree I've ever had.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food, open air, hot staffWide open windows to the busy street. Great Sunday brunch including buffet and non buffet items. Good service, good beer/libations selection. Nothing missing.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent food and serviceThe had an amazing selection of craft beer and some innovative drinks and dishes. Vibrant atmosphere. Not too loud but energetic.
Great place to celebrate with a group.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific Dining in Davis SquareFound this spot on Open Table for last minute reservation and it was fantastic. Great energy and nice ambiance with open windows to sidewalk and a great bar scene. Mostly young, urban crowd- college students, professionals, pre movie diners and date-nighters. I only saw one young family leaving as we arrived for a 7:30 reservation. Dined with my husband and son on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly and found the menu to have a great variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. An interesting variety of standard fare with unique preparations and unusual dishes but not too fussy. Huge beer list and unusual cocktail menu offerings. The food was outstanding and the service was friendly. I will be back for lunch and brunch.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellent. The service was excellent. We had one person in our party of four who uses a wheelchair. The restaurant is accessible and the staff was extremely flexible in helping us figure out which table would be most comfortable. This person also has severe food allergies and again the waiter was patient and respectful. He discussed with us at length the ingredients in various dishes, inquired in the kitchen when he didn't know the answer, made intelligent suggestions and in the end they created a custom-made serving to accommodate her needs. All of the food was delicious and appealing.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA neighborhood favorite. FriendlyA neighborhood favorite. Friendly and attentive service at the bar. Tasty food. Wonderful how the big windows are open during fair weather. The bartender who took care of me and my friend was great.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWent here with friends beforeWent here with friends before a concert and had a great meal. Mussels were delish and all my companions were happy with their meals -- pork chop, gnocchi, salads. Bread is yum too. Our waiter was fantastic. Cheerful, helpful, quick when necessary, and always appeared when we needed something. Will definitely be going back.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner, drinks, or for anyDinner, drinks, or for any outing at all - The Foundry always is perfect!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWent with a couple of girlfriendsWent with a couple of girlfriends for dinner on a Saturday night. Had a reservation but still waited about 10 minutes to be seated, however considering it was peak busy time, we didn't mind. The food was delicious-- I had the wild mushroom pizza. Friends had the pork belly sandwich and apple/endive salad and they both enjoyed it. Pricing was fair based on quality. Great for a good casual bar atmosphere without the typical gross bar food. Would definitely go back again.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent spot for a pleasantExcellent spot for a pleasant Easter brunch. French toast was amazing! The only downside is that there was a terrible scraping/squeaking noise coming from the buffet area every few minutes - I think it was one of the lids opening and closing. It made us cringe every time! Otherwise, delightful!!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHigh caliber service and foodI've been to Foundry on Elm a few times & each time, I have had a quality experience. Professional waitstaff, which in a college town, is a rarity. I had leg of duck, which is easy to overcook, but this was spot on, tender and succulent. Solid wine list (Pauillac for $65!) is great. The manager came over to discuss some of the menu items, and then quietly, after learning that it was our anniversary, sent dessert and a glass of champagne for us. Also: the 'French picnic' appetizer with charcuterie and cheeses was beautifully assembled with choice tasty bits, local cheese, housemade pickles, etc. And this evening happened on a very busy night, when a couple large parties of 12 or more came in at the same time. Go eat there3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a lovely night at Foundry. We had a lovely night at Foundry. Our table was ready right on time despite the restaurant being absolutely packed. We had a delightful waiter, just enough attention but no hovering. The rainbow trout was amazing and the calamari app not to be missed. The waiter even had the bartender concoct a special drink for us with our favorite ingredients. Love the cushy deep booths- the front of the restaurant is definitely more lively but might be too noisy for dinner conversation.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. The best stickyExcellent food. The best sticky toffee we have ever had!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had dinner here after seeingWe had dinner here after seeing a show at the Davis Square Theater. The food was fantastic and although the restaraunt was croweded, the food arrived in a timely fashion. We had a wonderful experience.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived slightly afterWe arrived slightly after our reservation but we were promptly greeted warmly and escorted to our table. A large mirror behind our table allowed me to take in the energetic atmosphere. Our waitress was professional throughout dinner and made sure our food and drinks were delivered correctly and quickly. All of the food, including the appetizer we tried and our entrees were outstanding. We were very happy we tried the bacon gravy fries. The menu also featured a number of beer and wine offerings that were nice accompaniments to our meal. Overall, a very energetic restaurant in the middle of Davis Square that is one of the better offerings in the area, a great place for dinner or a casual drink at the bar. Would love to dine here again!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic neighborhood restaurant,Fantastic neighborhood restaurant, imaginative menu, great wine list. The space is nicely done, lots of high top seating. Music can be loud for the tastes of aging baby-boomers.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper serviceUpbeat, youthful atmosphere in which to enjoy creative menu offerings and a terrific bar.
