  • "We went for the southern fried chicken - we got one order of wings and they were fantastic. In the future we will go for more wings :)"

  • "Generaly a very good restaurant. If you are seated upstairs it will be very uncomfortable-- just too hot. Also in the upstairs section you will loose any ambiance -- it is like being stashed away in a banquet room. Most of the food was excellent but one meal was just not good. The restaurant was wonderful in taking care of this matter. Maybe just a bad night."

  • "I like this location better than the downtown location. The food and service was great. I can't wait to go back for brunch."

  • "We treated a close family friend to lunch after years of hard work and dedication invested in the community. Founding Farmer's was the perfect place to unwind, to share a couple of laughs, and to indulge in reinvented dishes. From the attentive servers, to the large tables, and the beautiful layout, this restaurant offers a refreshing experience for family members and friends to share together."

  • "Hair in my stuffed french toast was not my idea of a great brunch, however the bartender pours a nice peach bellini."

  • "The food at FF was a very creative twist of traditional food that was refreshing and delicious. The IPA was very good and the hand-made gingerale was out of this world! There was a long line though even though we had a reservation."

  • "I live this restaurant. But my recent experience was disappointing. I made an 8:15 reservation for dinner saturday night, only to arrive early at 7:50 or so to find they were running 30 minutes behind on seating reservations. My friend and I got a drink at the bar while we waited, and at 8:10 I checked with the host, to find they were still running 30 min behind. My friend and I ended up grabbing seats at the bar instead of waiting until 8:45 to be seated for my 8:15 reservation. Seriously, disappointing. Why make reservations if they don't mean anything?"

  • "We had to wait over 30 minutes with a reservation. The food was great."

  • "Fabulous and creative dishes. All six people in our party were delighted with their entees. We even shared so everyone could taste all the deliciousness. Only down-side was the beverage service. We had to repeatedly ask the waitress for our " bar" drinks. Don't know if they were short- handed at the bar or what. Can wait to go again."

  • "So I have heard how great founding farmers was from all of my co-workers. I took my fiance on a saturday around 1:30 and the wait wasn't very long. But our server was not attentive at all. After leaving us for about 18 minutes after bringing us our drinks I started to get abit irritated. Then the appetizer that we ordered was forgotten and another server brought our food out. He grabbed a manager for us who was about to comp our appetizer but we declined. The atmosphere was very nice and the decor suited the food very well. My fiance had the honey mustard chicken salad which was quite good. I should have chosen that instead of the Joe's chili burger which was mediocre at best. It will be quite a while before we try dining in again."

  • "Dinner was a success. Always hard to finish meals, portions are huge. Good food."

  • "The location and food quality is becoming that of a family restaurant. There are kids everywhere, and families treat it like their own living room. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork, it was over cooked and dry. My friend ordered the Shrimp and grits, the shrimp was average and tasted like it was from a frozen shrimp pack from Costco. Costco frozen shrimp is good, but I expected more from Founding Farmers. I would not recommend going at around 6:30pm. Perhaps around 8 would be better as most of the families with small children have already eaten and gone home. However, that does not change that the food quality seems to be going down. The place needs to be cleaned as well. The walls and ceiling are noticeably browner with stains."

  • "My husband, 3 kids in their twenties, and I were there for a family birthday dinner celebration. The food was outstanding. The server was polite, friendly, and knew the menu. We all enjoyed our food and drinks. We had already ordered a whole red velvet cake to take home. Not only was the cake beautiful, it is the best tasting cake any of us has ever had! Truly a blue ribbon winner. We will be back!"

  • "I had a 7:15 reservation to eat here and had to wait until 7:55 to be seated. Otherwise, the outdoor tables are pleasant on a nice summer night, and salads are very good."

  • "I can always count on Founding Farmers to give me the best experience (food and service-wise), which is why I always bring friends and family there. Our server was upbeat and very attentive. And the food was awesome, especially the black pepper wings! This will always be my go-to restaurant."

  • "Came here with some colleagues from work the other day. The food and service were great, but the noise level from the bar was high. Would recommend requesting seating away from the bar or upstairs if you want to have an easier time talking with the people around you."

  • "Received reservation confirmation for party of 10 at 10:30 a.m. When we arrived, they didn't have reservation listed. Fortunately, a large group was leaving and they were able to reset table for us. Service was not as good as usual."

  • "I've been to Farmers in the past and loved it. I went on a rainy night with a friend, and we were consequently 9 minutes late. It was obvious our table had been given away and the servers had to scramble to find us a spot. When we sat down, our server treated us like children and asked us if we "wanted to know about the sodas," laugh included. I don't know about anyone else, underage or not, being treated like a child is never an enjoyable experience. I ordered the Four Cheese and Wild Mushroom Ravioli... More of an okay taste than anything. Came out luke warm, not hot."

  • "Usually I have an amazing experience each time I go to Founding Farmers. However, this time I went on Sunday during brunch. The place was packed and our server was very inattentive. The food took 45 minutes to come out (which, for eggs and a waffle, shouldn't be nearly that long). By the time we received our food, it was cold, and the sides that we requested did not come out. Not sure I'll go to this location for brunch again."

  • "Founding Farmers struggle with large crowds. Like many restaurants with just ok food, they focus on quantity. So, crowds should be expected, but you leave bloated but not satisfied."

  • "Founding Farmers - Montgomery County is my wife's and my go-to for guests or friends who are new in town. Outstanding service with an unbelievable bang-for-your-buck menu makes this place an instant beloved destination for all we've shared meals with here."

  • "FF-MC offers a broad array of well-prepared and innovative food choices. It is the only thing that draws me back. Beyond the menu itself, the restaurant is unpleasantly noisy throughout the day and evening (upstairs seating is strongly recommended). The waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly, but can disappear for long stretches of time."

  • "The food here is great, but make sure to come with a huge appetite! I came for brunch and ordered the stuffed French toast, but there was delay so the manager kindly offered us free beignets or biscuits. We chose the beignets, which was delicious as was the French toast when it finally arrived. However, the food is extremely heavy and the portions are quite large so it was difficult to finish everything. Another negative: the restaurant is extremely noisy and very busy - don't come without a reservation. Overall a nice experience, but could not imagine eating here too often."

  • "This restaurant is a perfect example of how places, even in the DC area, can deliver excellent food at such a great value. Seriously, nothing here will remotely break the bank. Except maybe the drinks, but at least the serving/pour size is generous. You also get enormous portions so plan on ordering a box or making this your only meal of the day."

  • "Food was great as usual, though the pickled veggie and goat cheese tartines seemed over-soaked with balsalmic vinegar. Twin guests at the table were celebrating birthdays, which was noted on the reservation. Even after several hints to the waiter, no effort to recognize the birthdays. It turned out that the birthdays guests didn't want dessert anyway, but it seemed like an odd oversight."

  • "good place. A little bit noisy. despite of all the kind service from the waiters, service was a little bit problematic. It appears that there is lack of coordination( food became before the knifes, forks, etc). But it was a good dinner at all!"

  • "Very good food and service. Menu gave quite an extensive assortment of items to order. The oven baked chicken was delicious with a very interesting glaze. Everything sounded good so it was hard to choose what I wanted; I'll be back soon to try some other choices."

  • "This is my second time at this restaurant. All of the food is high quality. It is a farm to table place. The pot roast, chicken and waffles, and goat cheese ravioli were our favorite entrees. We weren't thrilled with appetizers. Nothing was wrong with them, just didn't love. One person in our party really liked the tater tots that came with the Lolli's and tots. The roasted nuts were a little spicy for our liking. Each person could handle one or two at a time, but not a handful. We were very happy with the desserts. I think everyone's favorite was the apple crisp. So good! We also really liked the fruit crisp and the cookies. I want to mention that soft drinks are not refillable. You get 1 can for $3!"

  • "The food at Founding Farms is incredible. The service was the worst I have experienced at a highly recommended restaurant. We ate dinner at 6pm on Saturday. One of our party received the wrong sides (yes, both sides were wrong) with her entree. The waitress never offered to refill our drinks. Two in our party shared a bottle of wine. One drank a draught beer and was never offered another beer. I asked for a second Arnold Palmer and what I received was a drink with alcohol in it (That mistake is compounded by the fact that I do not drink and have not had a drink in 25 years!!!!). When we ordered dessert, I received the wrong item and the coffee arrived late and luke warm! Our waitress obviouly did not care about what she was doing."

  • "Terrible customer service, no follow up from wait staff after being seated. The water glass were dirty with stuff floating in the water!"

  • "I had the chicken and waffles for breakfast which was really good. The waffle was fluffy and the chicken crispy. Both were flavorful and delicious together. The white gravy, honey butter and syrup were all good too. The service, however, was not so good. We waited 20 minutes before someone took our drink order. During breakfast, we had to wave down other wait staff as our waiter kept disappearing. I had requested a well-lit booth, but we were taken to a very dark booth. This has happened all 3 times I've eaten there. Thankfully, we were able to move to a half booth by the window."

  • "I dont often write opentable reviews, but we had another great dinner at Founding Farmers MoCo. We had a large group of 8, and last minute had to an extra person... we just showed up with 9 people and they were more than accommodating. The food as always was amazing. For apps we had the bacon lollies, deviled egg combo, cornbread, brie and onion jam flatbread, pesto flatbread, pistachio flatbread, the dates, and the bread, chips and crisps. All of them were awesome, and if you've never had the bacon or the brien and onion jam flatbread, you're really missing out. For drinks, I highly recommend the White Star, the Bone, the Cucumber Delight and whatever the Phosphate of the day is, mixed with vodka. Entrees were amazing as well. Love it"

  • "Food was good and appreciate the mission; we support local farmers and businesses; wine list average; beers of the week, nothing spectacular (expected a bit more variety); waitstaff - too scripted about the mission -- had already done my research so it was a bit "over the top" in terms of selling the place. My sense is the young man was still in training which I completely understand. The restaurant manager took over our table, which was great. Biggest reason for not coming back would be the noise level. Not sure there's much that can be done about it, but the noise left us both with ears ringing. No private conversations to be had. Everything was heard at the table next to us. Positive note -- love the mailbox for the check. Nice touch!"
