Dinner outside was wonderful. We chose to eat outside because inside is always VERY loud… not just noisy… LOUD. It is better upstairs and much better outside. We had a time constraint and our server, Allie, made sure we were promptly served and done in plenty of time. Food was excellent, as usual.

Why it is that so many places choose to foresake interiors and insist on hard surfaces throughout. Exposed pipes and vents are so outdated. Yet, this is exactly what FF has done to itself. The food was good enough, though the drinks and wine are way over-priced and not that notable ($12/18 for okay rose & chardonnay!!). We could not wait to exit so that our hearing and conversation would return to normal. We'll chalk this place off of our future lists.

We eat here regularly and they changes the menu so there are no longer any descriptions. At most restaurants this isn't a problem, but founding often add new twists to their plates. For example, my husband and I each had a hash for brunch. I order the beef goat cheese. It was cooked perfectly and was very good except it was topped with a sauce that had a lot of Mustard and I HATE mustard. My husband also hates mustard so we would have ordered differently if we had known. Otherwise we enjoy FF and take our out of town guests there.

Had a great breakfast with part of the family (wife and son). The steak and eggs were fantastic. The scrambled eggs were the best eggs ever. I am sure they had a lot of butter in them to get them that good. the steak along with the eggs was prepared perfectly. The eggs dragged thru the garden was also excellent and my wife's french toast was very good too. Of course we had the Begnets(sp?) and they were great. Andy our server was also outstanding. Thorough. Pleasant. Top Notch.

Although the building has underground parking, there's no entrance into the restaurant from the lobby or an awning you can walk under. It was pouring when we arrived, and we got soaked running from the lobby to the restaurant entrance. Service was a little slow; however, our mood improved when our delicious food arrived.

The food was terrific if you could wait for service from a very disinterested staff. The $12 Bloody Marys were sold as pepper infused Vodka... but reality is that it was loaded with cracked pepper which made it undrinkable without swallowing a pile of pepper. I was a bartender in my past and I would never make them this poorly.... terrible.... and for $12? SO disappointed that they wouldn't refund me. In any case... go for the food... drinking there is pricey and not worth it... but the food is comfort style fresh food...

Bottom line: overpriced and they do not know how to cook vegetables. - way way undercooked to the point of almost being raw - and I don't like eating raw green beans. A dinner for five cost $270 which includes tip and three bears.

Nice restaurant, great service, ambiance, and good tasting food. What else can you ask for? One thing! Reuben and Corned beef need to sliced thinner. The chunks do not work. I pulled the whole meet out of the sandwich in one or two bites. Same with my lunch partner.

I've been to FF before and would say the service was not on par with the other visits. It all seemed kind of rushed. Our server never checked in on how our food was. My shrimp had pieces of shell still on it and when they're smothered in gravy/grits there was no way for me to know until I ate it. Gross. Turned me off to the dish. Overall, it's a cute restaurant but the noise level on the second floor is too much. I could hear the entire conversation of the table next to us and barely could get a sentence out without repeating myself. For the price of entrees I would want to feel less like I'm in a TGIFridays.

Many of my co-workers have been to this restaurant, but I had not previously joined them. A new director recommended this as a close-by location with great gluten-free options. They were very flexible with the "edits" I desired for my order. I was surprised it took so long for orders to come out; I expected fewer people at 2PM in the restaurant, but we did have a party of 9. I wish there were a bit more detail in the menu; I kept trying to avoid un-welcome items in my salad which were not listed. I neglected to say "no avocado," so I spent the first few minutes of my meal fishing out avocado, which I REALLY HATE. And besides wishing there were more ice in the water, I had no other regrets.

It was Labor Day at 6:00 p.m. Glad we had a reservation ... our table however was in a very noisy spot and hot ... couldn't feel the AC and we didn't get ice in our water to begin with. But our server was great and made our time there pleasant in spite of the noise level. One of the four of us had the rock fish ($29, a little overpriced) which was overcooked and the broccolini was way undercooked. Two of us had the chicken, one Southern and one Northern ... we agreed the Northern was the crispier but it was a little overdone. Fish and chips were satisfactory. Felt we were there at the wrong time on the wrong day, but weren't thrilled enough with anything to plan a return trip in the near future.

Founding Farmers is a great restaurant in Montgomery County off of 270. I visit this restaurant a lot and every time I visit I always have a pleasant experience. As Founding Farmers becomes more popular, its becoming harder to get in even with a reservation however, once you get it, its worth the wait! My favorite is the Shrimp and Grits and the Ultimate Seafood dish. You cannot go wrong with either of these two dishes. Also, the home made Ice Cream and Cakes are excellent! My only regret is I wish they had a loyalty card because I eat there at least 6 times a month.

I've been to this Founding Farmers location before and have always come away a happy customer - and this visit followed the same pattern. Because it was Labor Day around noon, the restaurant was understandably very crowded. Due to the crowd, our server didn't come by the table as quickly or as frequently as usual, but he tended to our needs very well and stopped by enough to refill our water and coffee. The food was as good as always - I ordered the farmers breakfast with the applewood smoked bacon (so good!) My girlfriend got the Beets and Goat Cheese hash - which was great, except for the fact that they didn't put any goat cheese in it...big bummer, but it still tasted good.

I have heard nothing but great reviews about this restaurant so I was quite excited to try out their brunch. Unfortunately, I will not be going back. The service was very bad. Our party of four was ignored and our sides (that came with our meal) never showed up to our table. Additionally, the server brought us the wrong check and because of the infrequent visits to our table, we ate our meals without water or refills. The food was tasty though. I would like to purchase the cookbook.

We love Founding Farmers - MoCo as the food is always excellent and the servers are extra helpful and friendly. Our complaint is that you always (and I do mean always in our experience of going there many times) have to wait for a table despite showing up on time for your reservation. In this most recent experience the wait was 25 minutes after arriving right on time for a reservation made several weeks in advance to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. Yes, we love the place and yes, we will no doubt come back again, but just be prepared to grow irritable while you wait as Founding Farmers has some serious flaws with their models for calculating table turnover.

We went there for dinner - as usual, great food. I had forgotten that the menu is sparse in terms of descriptions, so we had ordered sides that we didn't really need - our entrees came with sides that weren't listed on the menu. So my suggestion is to ask the server more about entrees you're interested in ordering. Also, our server was great, but he wasn't getting the back up he needed in terms of beverages so it took a long time to get our drinks. It was very crowded.

We live nearby Founding Farmers Montgomery and it is always a treat to go. Sometimes we take the kids for breakfast and sometimes we'll break away in the evening and sit at the bar for apps and drinks. I've been to some nice restaurants but the service at FF is the best I've experienced. Whoever does their hiring knows what they are doing. The place is "fancy" but not stuffy. It's a cool place.

I've had good food at Founding Farmers and food that was so-so. This experience was mostly so-so. The chicken cutlet with the goat cheese ravioli had no taste. The cutlet was small and overbreaded and unseasoned. It sat atop a bed of mashed butternut squash with several ravioli around it. The squash was also flavorless but the ravioli were a nice touch. The restaurant was loud but it didn't interfere with our ability to hear each other. The service was fine. Not sure if I'll return because I'm beginning to think the food may be prepared by people who feel their job is to get out dishes according to spec (and spec is generically bland) rather than by people who take pride in their work.

Everything was excellent. The popcorn appetizer was quite a pleasant surprise, and the cornbread was the best I've ever had. The trout was particularly good, and was the mac & cheese. And the prices were very reasonable.

I just made my third trip to Founding Farmers I Montgomery County, Maryland. It was probably my last unless I just go for drinks and appetizers. The Black Pepper Wings are outstanding as are most of the other appetizers on the menu. My experience with the entrees has been disappointing. I've had the Yankee Pot Roast, Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp & Grits in my visits. The shrimp was probably the best of the three but just okay. They use an inexpensive tri-tip cut of beef for their pot roast. Great for corned beef but a poor choice for pot roast. The chicken & waffles was very greasy and just didn't agree with my taste buds. I guess my selections weren't the best as the place is always very busy and, in spite of nightmare parking, thrives.
