A word from Forno Bistro
Anchoring Saratoga's vibrant downtown Forno Bistro is a family-owned bistro that offers a variety of rustic, Tuscan-style food rooted in tradition. Our chef's use only the freshest seasonal ingredients to prepare dishes with respect to their flavors, appearance and aroma. The menu is sophisticated but approachable, expressing the sense of hearth and home that defines the Tuscan style of life. Forno Bistro's rustic, Tuscan-style food is hearty and unpretentious with sophisticated flavors rooted in tradition and always open to new interpretations and adaptations. Many of our dishes are greatly influenced by the use of the wood-fired oven: homemade pizzas, sautéed calamari, and wood-fired towers of vegetables. The oven is always the inspiration.Continued

  • "Everything was delicious! My whole family went out to dinner and we had no issues! The wait staff is amazing everyone works together great and the bussers always keep your water glass full! I recommend this for all ages and they have excellent specials everyday!"

  • "Forno Bistro! I have been there twice and was satisfied both times, as was all members of the party I dined with. I was a little worried about them advertising that everything was under $30 and that they had a large menu. However any doubt was put to rest when the food came. Excellent food with a fair price. The atmosphere is very nice, would be fine to take a date or friends/family. My only complaint is that the dinning room is very crowded."

  • "We love DZ Restaurants, and especially enjoy Boca's tapas bar. Forno has a great style and we have eaten at the bar and enjoyed the warm staff and the food…the eggplant is amazing! The only problem is the noise level, and even though we requested a quiet table, we were seated where the acoustics of the space make the conversations reverberate and dialogue at your own table hard to share. I remember this restaurant when it was converted from the firehouse, and although it's been altered greatly, I still enjoy the space and look."

  • "This was out third visit to Forno Bistro. Maître d' was great - our reservation was handled beautifully. Food was very good as a usual - a great value. The atmosphere was lively as it was restaurant week and hence our waitress perhaps a bit less attentive than would have made us happy. But overall, a good evening - we'd recommend a visit."

  • "Astonishing Service and atmosphere. My wife and I will be coming often. The food was unreal. Every bite was better then the next."

  • "The food is always prepared well and the servers tend to be knowledgeable (one in particular who has been there for a while is our favorite). I asked for a special to be modified, which was done willingly, though the kitchen forgot to add the chicken. The server remediated this immediately. Great atmosphere, though the sunken dining room gets an awful draft every time the door opens."

  • "Pasta was cooked just right. Flavors and portions were good. The other two members of our group also enjoyed their meal. Wait staff knew what to do and when. Overall a good value. Forno has stepped up their game from a year ago."

  • "Our party of 4 was looking forward to a return visit after several years. Two of us ordered a Caesar salad and lasagna. I am sorry to have to say that the Caesar salad was the worst I have ever had: the lettuce was pale yellow to white, the dressing bore no resemblance to any Caesar dressing I've ever had, there was no grated cheese offered or on the table, and it was truly tasteless. The lasagna was dense with heavy pasta, and again not much flavor. HOWEVER, the wait staff were stellar - professional, personable and gracious. For atmosphere and service, great. Alas, our food was not."

  • "the service was well enough, the waitress was personable and attentive. the food was not what i recall however. it was by no means bad but not anything to write home about. the atmosphere was crowded due to the holiday and everyone seemed very frazzled all in all id give it 5 out of 10"

  • "Overall it was a very good experience. The Antipast was awesome with a nice variety. My main meal, the Frutti de Mare was very good with a good amount of seafood and a nice spicy taste. My wifes pasta special was kind of bland and the portion size was small. The Creme Brulee was very good as well. Our servers, Amy and Alex were awesome and very attentive."

  • "The atmosphere and service at Forno was fantastic. At the door, my date was given a rose, which was a nice touch. The food was excellent, and was served in a timely manner, especially considering how busy the restaurant was that night. The only downside is that Forno Bistro doesn't take Discover, which provided an awkward end to an otherwise nice night. Knowing now that credit won't be an option for me makes this a one time issue, however, and I will very likely be a repeat customer."

  • "Service is excellent. Went there for Valentines Day and they offered their regular menu which was a great value. Gorgeous and cozy restaurant with great food and a great wine selection. Definitely recommend it."

  • "This is worth the wait if you don't have a reservation. The food and drink menu are very good and the pasta was fresh, creamy and excellent flavor in the sauce. It's noisy but you still can have a conversation and the meal will cheer you up, definitively. A very good value and upper ranking quality."

  • "We don't get out much, but Fornos was definitely worth it. The wait staff was on their toes and the service was superb. The drinks, appetizers and entree were served in a timely manner. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Will return again."

  • "We had a wonderful array of appetizers. Our waitress was very helpful, and didn't make us feel badly that we only ordered appetizers instead of a whole meal. It was delicious. Only semi bad thing was that we had to sit near the door. Although there was a big curtain that was supposed to keep the cold out. It was a very cold night, so it didn't work the way that it should. Just wore our coats for a bit. Other than that I would highly recommend the place."

  • "I have been to Forno Bistro twice. I went once in the summer and their outdoor seating area was great. The seating is under cover and has curtains that are great for those breezy days. The next time I went in the winter and sat indoors. There is a great ambience inside as well. The food at Forno Bistro is delicious. I do think that some items have a little bit too much garlic so I will ask for less garlic next time. My only other complaint is the noise level, specifically when seated indoors. The restaurant can get crowded and when everyone is packed into the space it can be difficult to hear your waiter and the people at your table. Overall, the food, location, and ambience are great and I will definitely be going back!"

  • "From appetizers to main course, food was inventive tasty and of high quality. Atmosphere is warm and friendly. Staff, (our server was Tiffany, and she was a pleasure over and above mere service) was attentive, prompt and friendly. I would recommend Forno Bistro to any visitor to Saratoga Spring."

  • "We visited on New Years Eve. the service was pleasant and attentive, but a little slow given that the restaurant was packed. For First Night, just get there earlier than you think you need to. Steak was cooked perfectly, sauce great. Sea bass was expensive but undercooked or cold and bland - the staff was pleasant and prompt about rectifying the fish temperature. Calamari was good - not overly crisp, and a great texture. Good food, comfortable, casual welcoming atmosphere, but the food is average for the price you pay. Good for our 7 year old."

  • "We had a party of 6. We shared a large appetizer for the table and a pizza. Then we had our entree. I had scallops which were in a vodka sauce with asparagus over pasta. The asparagus was diced and cooked to a perfect crunch in comparison with the flavorful scallops. The wine was not overpriced and also was delicious. The only thing I would change are the chairs. They were bait uncomfortable."

  • "years but remembered Il Forno as having a casual but sophisticated ambiance. That remains, but food was uninspired. The calamari appetizer was excellent, lightly crisped rings served with a tangy marinara dipping sauce. The main courses that followed were not. I had the pasta special, basically a dish of spaghetti scattered with some steamed broccoli, and few red peppers, and about two ounces of "grilled" chicken. No grill marks, very little of the sauce that was supposed to be garlic/wine, but tasted of neither. My friend's Involtini di Vitello was better, the asparagus in the veal rolls was nice and crisp, but the veal itself had little flavor and neither the prociutto nor mozzarella were ample enough to enliven the dish."

  • "Usually an enjoyable experience having visited this restaurant on many occasions. However, tonight the service left us unimpressed during a family holiday get together. The diners should never be rushed as we were. The food was good although cold due to the serving of the entrée while still consuming the salad. Hopefully, this was just an off night for Forno."

  • "Perfect variety on menu, standard and specialty items, but not overwhelming. perfectly timed service, and you can't beat the ambiance."
    Dined on 12/21/2013
  • "Food was excellent, not too much and appetizers were large enough for sharing. My wife's salad was very large and it was the first time she ever brought home the extra salad, so that tells you how good it was."
