Our chef's use only the freshest seasonal ingredients to prepare dishes with respect to their flavors, appearance and aroma. The menu is sophisticated but approachable, expressing the sense of hearth and home that defines the Tuscan style of life. Forno Bistro's rustic, Tuscan-style food is hearty and unpretentious with sophisticated flavors rooted in tradition and always open to new interpretations and adaptations.   • "We have been going to Forno's for several years and have always found it to be consistently good. We had a breakdown in our food service this time. We were the first customers to arrive - 5pm on a Saturday because we were going to a show. People who arrived after us were receiving their food before we did. Our waitress apologized for the delay but didn't really offer an explanation. This would not stop us from going back, unless it happens again. These things happen. We were done in plenty of time to make our show."

  • "Food was ok. Not much for the price. Two Pasta specials with a couple shrimp and scallops. Eggplant parm and a chicken dish. Expensive and everything is ala carte. Dinner for four $185.00 plus tip. We also had 2 deserts four coffee and four drinks. The atmosphere is very nice. Just more than i like to spend. Probably wont go again because of price."

  • "We love the outdoor patio dining at Forno Bistro, one of the few downtown patios uncrowded enough to enjoy a romantic dinner while you people watch. We loved the antipasto; it's ordered per person and arrives with 12 items for each diner. We were a bit surprised to find no meat items, and a choice of a mixed or vegetarian platter would be a nice option. They were tasty enough that we really didn't care. There is a nice variety of well-prepared entrees, though the addition of a risotto or two would be welcome. Mama Theresa's desserts are better than ever. The cannoli filling was exquisite---not too sweet, with a subtle, almost imperceptible tang, and the shells crispy enough to convince me that she had fried them just before filling."

  • "We visited Forno Bistro for the first time in November and had a great meal and even better service. This time around we went for my husband's birthday. We had to add salt to everything- nothing seemed seasoned, particularly our pasta. As for service, the girl was nice enough but she basically argued with me over what water to get, and for about forty minutes, forgot to bring it to me entirely! We won't go back; as people who deeply appreciate good food, there are many other places, especially in Saratoga, that offer the attention to detail that we're looking for."

  • "I made a reservation online and requested a table outside. They were able to accomodate the request and it was one of the best dining experiences ever. A beautiful summer evening in Saratoga with great food at reasonable prices, and a friendly and good natured staff. They even surprised me with a dessert complete with a candle and a moving rendition of "Happy Birthday" in Italian. It does not get any better than this!"

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants in Saratoga! However that night there appeared to have too much waitstaff on and we seemed to constantly have a lot service. But overall a fantastic place to eat and enjoy the company of friends!"

  • "My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the food. We ordered salads for appetizers, they were delicious!!! The caprese salad had tomato and mozarella plus some salad, and the arugula salad were very delicious. The fish of day was snapper, a great choice and the chicken rustica meals were outstanding. We loved the Saratoga spring water. It was refreshing!!! We had two bottles. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Definitely recommend it."

  • "The proprietor must have intended Forno Bistro to be one of those places where everyone feels the need to talk over their already loud table neighbors. The server cannot be heard and conversation can only be conducted at a high decibel level. The food was okay, but certainly not great. Asparagus appetizer was tasty: roasted, with fontina chesse, fried egg, truffle oil, and pancetta; the calamari was not coated or cooked properly-the costing was non-existent and it wasn't crisp; the Shrimp Fra Diavolo was did not measure up. The wine list was bleak; service was good considering the busy night. "

  • "We ate at this restaurant after a recent regatta in Saratoga. The food was of good quality and the restaurant was adorable, great ambience. The service was another story-our waiter was inattentive and it took quite awhile to get our order and additional drinks. Upon finding shells in his main course my husband alerted the waiter who did not seem at all disturbed by that. We did get a manager to come over and he was very apologetic and did comp a round of drinks which was very nice. Our waiter upon returning to the table never mentioned the incident or apologized. In fact he was as aloof as ever. Overall our evening was lovely with the exception of the service."

  • "My daughter & I enjoyed a fabulous meal at Forno Bistro. This was my first but certainly not my last dining experience there. We had reservations at 6:45 and were seated promptly. Our waitress was energetic and friendly but not overpowering. She let us take our time in looking at the menu and enjoying our meal. I had the scallop & mussels over linguine in a white wine sauce. It was cooked perfectly. My daughter had the chicken with a side of asparagus that was cooked perfectly as well. I will be back when I'm visiting my daughter again in Saratoga."

  • "I've eaten at Forno at couple of times in the past and the food was phenomenal. As a creature a habit, I normally order the same exact dish, Frutti di Mare, which is usually cooked to perfection - pasta al dente, seafood done but not overcooked, sauce hot and with a touch of spiciness. However, things were quite different this past weekend. The Frutti di Mare was subpar at best. The seafood was way overcooked and rubbery, the pasta way too soft, and the sauce lukewarm. I did not complain at the time because I felt so claustrophobic with all of the people stuffed into this tiny dining area that I preferred to just leave instead. Maybe the quality of the food declines in direct proportion to the number of diners on any given day. "

Isn't it rude to remove plates before a course is finished by all at a table? From the moment we sat down we felt rushed. Food was not as good as other DZ restaurants."

I was a little worried about them advertising that everything was under $30 and that they had a large menu. However any doubt was put to rest when the food came. Excellent food with a fair price. The atmosphere is very nice, would be fine to take a date or friends/family. My only complaint is that the dinning room is very crowded."

  • "We love DZ Restaurants, and especially enjoy Boca's tapas bar. Forno has a great style and we have eaten at the bar and enjoyed the warm staff and the food…the eggplant is amazing! The only problem is the noise level, and even though we requested a quiet table, we were seated where the acoustics of the space make the conversations reverberate and dialogue at your own table hard to share. I remember this restaurant when it was converted from the firehouse, and although it's been altered greatly, I still enjoy the space and look."

  • "This was out third visit to Forno Bistro. Maître d' was great - our reservation was handled beautifully. Food was very good as a usual - a great value. The atmosphere was lively as it was restaurant week and hence our waitress perhaps a bit less attentive than would have made us happy. But overall, a good evening - we'd recommend a visit."

  • "The food is always prepared well and the servers tend to be knowledgeable (one in particular who has been there for a while is our favorite). I asked for a special to be modified, which was done willingly, though the kitchen forgot to add the chicken. The server remediated this immediately. Great atmosphere, though the sunken dining room gets an awful draft every time the door opens."
