The food was outstanding, the presentation, incredible. I especially like that you could buy wine by the glass for each course instead of having to buy a bottle and trying to match it with seafood and meat. The sommelier was knowledgeable and recommended wonderful wines. Everyone who worked here paid attention to the littlest detail. And, they were always paying attention to all the diners, not just their own tables. We probably had 6 different people helping us during our meal. They didn't "hound" you, but a nod or a wave would bring whoever was closest to the table. We never had to wait for "our waiter/waitress" in order to get something or to have a question answered. We can't wait to go back to Philly and to this fabulous restaurant.

There is an energy at Fork. The service is friendly and welcoming. The wine list is varied and impressive. But you go to Fork for the food. The multi course meal came with a variety of small surprising tastes from the chef. Every dish we had was beautifully presented with unusual combinations of ingredients that delight the eye and the palate. We had an extraordinary meal there. While I do not think any restaurant is worth a special trip to a particular town, Fork is a restaurant that is a must visit when one is in Philadelphia. There cannot be three restaurants better than Fork in the city. I just don't see how that would be possible.

This was our fourth meal at Fork over the past five years. Somehow the food never lives up to our expectations. The black and white pici pasta with seafood was creatively conceived and good but not inspiring. The fennel papparadelle was ordinary. The wait staff at our table was terrific but we had a terrible experience with the maitre d'. We arrived on time for our 7:30 pm reservation, and there were several four top tables available and ready but he would not seat us for almost 15 minutes because "the kitchen wasn't ready for the 7:30 pm tables to be seated". Overall, another disappointing experiernce; I think we've learned our lesson.

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time, in every way -- but especially the rather unique dishes on the menu. I took some well-traveled business colleagues there for dinner and they said the same thing. We all tried different things, and each raved about how good their choice was. The place was lively and the table next to us was fairly loud, but we could still carry on a conversation.

I hadn't been to Fork for a while. It is better than ever and should definitely be on everyone's list to try right away. The aperol and sparkling wine combo is the perfect way to start your meal. Then, we shared the very free form lasagna. It is out of this world - strong flavors but we mopped up the sauce with bread to get every last bite of it. We opted for the duck four ways for our entree. It takes some time to prepare but is well worth the wait. Beautifully roasted duck breast, salads with duck hearts & prosciutto, and duck confit, and amazing duck meatballs...with a wonderful duck jus for the breasts...just superb! We didn't make it to dessert with all that food. I cannot wait to return. BTW, the restaurant also looks amazing and the staff is super friendly and attentive.

We loved Fork while living in Lower Merion for 16 yrs. It was one of our favorite restaurants downtown. We choose it to go for a brunch after back to Philly area after spending some time in Chicago North Shore suburbs. The meal and ambiance did not meet our expectations; we had to move twice to get a warm place table; the place was quite cold around the front door and the bar. The restaurant was not even busy. The food portions were quite small, butternut soup was lukewarm, pasta - spinach pappardele's sauce was too salty; and the choice of desserts was not great. Gluten free options on the menu were small; wine list is fine but expensive. Overall we were very disappointed.

The atmosphere is great. Warm, simple, seasonal decor had us feeling cozy. The service was polite and attentive but...awkward. I don't know how else to describe it. The hosts and servers just didn't seem comfortable, hesitant to speak, and it just made us feel weird, not at all at ease during our meal. The bartender was the only chill one. The food was decent. Not amazing, not at all bad. Just pretty good. VERY SALTY. So so so salty. Everything was salty. But presentation was great, it was very fancy, and the portions were not unreasonable. Overall, not a bad meal but I would not go back. Been there, done that.

Fork's four course house menu offers a true culinary adventure. In addition to your choice of starter, pasta and dessert, the kitchen sends out an array of exotic nibbles. On the evening I dined, we were served items such as heirloom carrot crusted with seaweed, alongside a cordial glass of celery juice and I believe, hibiscus; a local sampler plate with bialy and cream cheese, and cheese stuffed pretzel bites; and before dessert, chocolate and cherry soda. Even the bread course was unique, with squid ink bread and seaweed dusted butter. Overall, the creativity, attention to detail and execution of the Fork kitchen staff is phenomenal. Beyond that, the staff is very welcoming and the owner even stopped by to chat with us before we left.

Restaurant is quiet by today's standards and pleasant elegance. Staff was attentive without being intrusive. All were friendly and clearly it mattered that we enjoy our meal. We did. My husband and I went to Fork to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The customer service was excellent. The host greeted us right away and got us seated at the bar while we waited for our table. The bar tender was friendly and recommended a mixed drink for my husband and a red wine for myself. Our reservation was on time and we were seated within 10 minutes. The service from the wait staff was impeccable. They were extremely attentive. All dishes were explained when brought to the table. The food was very good. I would however, expect a bit more considering the prices, however it was still very delightful. The entire experience was great and I would recommend Fork to anyone looking for somewhere different to go.

The menu and ambiance of this restaurant are top notch. The creativity in the kitchen is enormous but doesn't always hit the plate just right. I do admire the effort and would recommend this restaurant to any foodie/gastronome. We had a cream cheese that had an added hint of hay. Yes, hay - I found out hay and clover are "siblings" so then it made more sense. Well worth the dining experience as it creates wonderful conversation as well as tingles the palate.

Those 4 stars next to Fork's name in the restaurant listings -- they're there for a good reason. The food and service were excellent but the restaurant is overpriced and not by a little, i.e., be prepared to pay between $200-300 for dinner for two (including tip) from either their ala carte or pre-fixe menu, $14 to $20 for a glass of wine (one-third full), few wines under $50 a bottle, and supplemental charges for the best items on the pre-fixe menu. Portions are moderately sized. Food is very nicely presented, imaginative, and the flavors are generally superb. The staff are all young but well trained and accommodating.

My husband, daughter and I had a special occasion and chose Fork through Open Table reviews. It was super. We had the tasting menu which was full of little tasty surprises. My daughter had the lamb , my husband the swordfish and I had the rib eye steak. Sometimes with tasting menus you are locked in but we were able to chose the main items. The service was friendly and attentive. It was busy that night with a lively bar scene going on but we were able to talk even so. I think most foodies would be pleased with the variety and quality of choices. The presentation of courses were inventive but not too crazy- the food took front stage. I would certainly recommend this for a special occasion.

Fresh ingredients. Lots of Italian and subtle Asian influences. The Chef's Tasting meal was a fairly good value; paying $75 includes extra bits of food and drink with your appetizer, entree, and dessert. Food is prepared from scratch with love. A pretzel bite filled with cheese wiz and mustard let us know that food there is meant to taste good above any sort of culinary pretentiousness. The chicken entree lacked seasoning and flair, but it was cooked extremely well. I guess that's what we get for ordering something boring. The coconut custard had a ginger sauce topping that reminded me of a Chinese dessert that includes warm ginger sauce and fresh hot soft tofu. Maybe an Ellen Yin influence? We'll be back another season!

We arrived on time for our reservation, the restaurant was half empty. The hostess greeted us, said she would be with us in a few minutes, and disappeared. Another hostess came and stood with us and made small talk. The first one finally came back to us after a good 10-15 minutes, and sat us next to the empty table we had been standing next to the whole time. It was really strange and annoying. We opted for the tasting menu. The "clam bread" and "pretzel cheese" bread were both tasteless and dry. Apps were very good, pastas were good. The $48 NY strip, ordered medium rare was rare, blue with white strips of raw fat and inedible. Swordfish was unpleasant tasting. Disappointing evening from many aspects.

We have always loved the Fork. It was our go-to place when we went to the Ritz Theaters. Then it went more upscale. There was always good food, now it is showier, costlier. Last Monday night after Birdman, 4 of us went. My friends liked their branzino, but I had a weird swordfish, cut into pyramids, covered with black spices and ?? mushrooms? I would have preferred something less "special". Sides were delicious. Salads were creative, but lovely. My oysters were fresh and sweet. Wine list is sufficient to one's desires. The desserts are so complex and special, it is hard to imagine wanting one. I like the decor, feeling of the place. We will always go there, although the price tag keeps rising.

Fork was definitely worth the visit...if you are a foodie with and an adventurous palate. Each course was extremely small but the flavors were exquisite! We thought we ordered the fennel pappardelle but the gnudi was brought to our table instead, but it was fabulous. The main course was ridiculously small. The cocktails were mediocre. Again, this is for foodies, not for those who are super hungry and/or on a tight budget.

And I have been to Keller, Bocuse... The Chef is very creative and produced original food without loosing his common sense. I could taste everything and I knew what it was. It was well cooked and presented. No cream sauce on everything. We had the $75 tasting menu (u still choose appy, pasta, entree ,dessert), all good size. A festival of subtle tastes. Service very professional but not pompous nor pushy. Just very minor gauche moves from the waiter's aide. All in all, this is 6 stars on the food and 5 on everything else, because very few restaurants in the world have served food this enjoyable all through dinner. Highly recommend the sweetbreads and the lamb, especially the belly cut served along neck and loin. A superb treat!

We were in Philadelphia for a couple days and chose Fork as one of our dining destinations and were not disappointed. Didn't have the best table location (they never pay attention to "notes" on opentable). I hate being seated by the kitchen or some odd spot because there are only two of us. Anyway, we had a great server and our food selections were wonderful. The wine list is quite unusual with very few California wines. The waiter worked hard to find me a white that I would like, took 4 or 5 tasters! This is not a large restaurant so be sure to reserve in advance.

Every aspect of the dining experience was superb. Highly attentive service, with just the right balance of respectfulness and friendliness. Every single dish was outstanding. Most memorable (for me, at least, if not for my wife) was the grilled sweetbreads appetizer. It's hard to find sweetbreads on menus these days, and these were the best. As was the bronzini, lobster, burrata, and pastas. Can't wait to get back to Fork.

First time here...no disappointments. The food was fabulous, our waitress was also super, and other than having a slight allergy to the juniper burning to smoke a dish, all was fantastic. Actually, an assistant to our waitress mixed me up some wasabe and horseradish and that worked like a charm to clear me up. Fabulous place!
