Diner Reviews
  • "We had to come to Boisefor a business trip & always seek out the best local restaurants. Fork should be at the top of the list for Boise as it is by far and away some of the best food we've eaten outSide of Seattle. We started with Asparagus fries, which were done to perfection (and actually eaten by our asparagus averse boys). Husband got a burger recommended by the waitstaff & says it was the best he's had. I had the fish tacos and cannot remember ever having a better one (despite living in Seattle for 5 years). We finished with the highly recommended butter cake and were not disappointed. I am eager to return to Boise simply to eat there again!"

  • "Fork was recommended by a tour guide from Boise State and she was right about a great restaurant. The food is fresh and the menu is your typical American flair but with so much flavor. I had the Apple Barrel Chicken with mashed potatoes. I usually do not buy chicken in a restaurant, but I made an excellent choice. My daughter had the prime rib dip (slices not the processed stuff). We shared the Warm Butter Cake. I don't know what they put in it, but it is moist and delicious (served with ice cream). The wait staff is excellent, great knowledge of the menu and history of the building (used to be a bank). Go downstairs and visit the vault!!"

  • "I have had dinner before at the Fork. This time I did not think it was up to par. My salmon was dry and the noise level was nuts!"

  • "I was very gracious guest but disappointed by my seating at the restaurant. I had made a reservation for one and was seated by a central pillar, a sort of bar atmosphere with other parties unknown to me. The plates and accouterments for dining of the couple seated next to me were in the space of an already limited dining platform. When I asked if it was typical to seat one with a reservation at such a space, they eventually offered me a table for four, which would have been impolite to take. I feel I should have at least been comped a glass of wine or dessert. On the other hand, the bar manager and GM politely made rounds and asked patrons if they had questions and took the time to answer with great knowledge. I will return to try again."

  • "I enjoyed the casual atmosphere for a midweek lunch with friends. The menu has enough variety - chicken salad, mushroom ravioli and spare ribs all wonderful and portions not too large. The burgers and chips at the next table looked delicious too. Chocolate trio was good, with ice cream being excellent. Would go back for more."

  • "5 of us dined Sunday evening. We were surprised with how busy the restaurant was for a Sunday evening. Orders were for sandwiches and burgers except for Jim who ordered the Beef Stroganoff, offered as a special. It was loaded with moist delicious beef, a much higher ratio of beef to pasta than is normally found. Sandwiches (chicken sliders) were very good with consistent quality. Burger was great, although the portion size seems to have gotten smaller since my last visit. All,in all, a very good meal."

  • "We have been there several times, this time for lunch. The service and ambience was as usual good but the food this time was just average, in fact the French dip sandwich was bad. I will go back but will not do the sandwich again."

  • "The food and service were excellent. The noise level makes it a little hard to talk. This is not a quiet romantic Resturant."

  • "AMAZING butter cake for dessert! We always have a great experience at Fork, but make reservations, its always busy and can be difficult to get a table. The best place for great service in Boise!"

  • "I had a reservation for four and when I asked upon entering the restaurant if there were a quieter section, I was immediately accommodated. The service was reasonably quick and the food very good. The food was also unusual to the extent that I was unable to identify some of what I ate. Nice to come across something new and delicious."

  • "i had the 7 oz fillet rare after an amazing appetizer of bbq shrimp. the shrimp was fantastic! it came with 6 shrimp and 3 slices of bread and a sauce worth dying for for $9. a little pricey, but worth it. the sauce indescribable. then the fillet was worth dying for also!!! i could've cut it with my fork it was that tender!! it came with a mushroom sauce that blew my tastebuds.the mushrooms were the best I've had ever. overall, an amazing dinner."

  • "One of my favorites whenever I visit Boise. Chicken and waffles off the charts good, but one in our party had the lamb chops and they were terrible. Almost like they were boiled. Inedible."

  • "Something for everybody. Typically I have the rainbow trout over kale, healthy and tasty....these time I tried the Tuesday night fried chicken over waffle with fresh maple syrup...OMG. Amazing. Plus they have a wide selection of tapped beers and fabulous deserts. Try the cake or binyets"

  • "Interesting that when you swap out fries for a salad they charge you $2.00 and the salad is literally served in a tiny ramekin. For a restaurant that is pushing healthy, local foods, which is absolutely great, its weird they charge you to swap out for a more healthy alternative."

  • "Have eaten here quite a few times. Food is normally excellent and for the most part, was on this last visit. The surprising thing about this last visit is that for a place that takes such great pride in it's food, they should not be serving dishes that feature avacao with avacado that has turned brown/black. Pretty much ruined my entre. Appetizers were excellent however."

  • "Overall I love this place and service is top notch. At my most recent lunch experience, one of the guests with me ordered fish tacos. They came with asparagus that was terribly stringy. And, it was intermixed with jalapeno which was too hot and hard to distinguish from the tiny asparagus spears. I had great trout and kale, which I would definitely order again."

  • "Very friendly, great food and wines but way too noisy for quiet conversation. We were greeted quickly and seated fast even though we were early for our reservation. The food was very well prepared and presented and the wine list was very good. We chose a local wine. Unfortunately, the brick walls and wood floors of an old bank building provide for a very noisy occasion. Overall, 8/10."

  • "All items that we ordered were delicious. My brother was visiting from out of town and this is where I took him. We had the signature dessert. He exclaimed that it was so good he felt guilty he was eating it without his wife!"

  • "I've been to Fork and recommended it so many times I've lost count. And every time it makes me happy. The food and service are consistently great and I will continue to recommend it any chance I get. I really hope Fork is here for a very long time."

  • "I absolutely love the menu options and the servers are very relaxed and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion. They made my Valentine's date absolutely perfect."

  • "We had asked for slightly more intimate seating - realizing too that the restaurant was often full and lively. It took a couple of tries to find the right spot but we were comfy at the bar until our table was ready…. and it was perfect. We loved the food, the staff was present and gracious at all of the appropriate moments. It was a delightful evening."

  • "This was the first time I went to Fork on a Tuesday for their famous Chicken and Waffles (they only serve those on Tuesday's). All three of us (my dad and one of my friends) had it and we all loved it. Great atmosphere and service as usual. Fork is perfect for any meal of the day and I love their commitment to local food."

  • "Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Our food was served quickly. All 5 in our party ordered something different, and each of us were extremely pleased with our meal. We are from out of town and relied on information we read online, so we were extremely pleased with our choice."

  • "This is more of a sandwich and burger place than anything else. Three in our party got entree which were expensive given the portion and that they were ala carte. Service was friendly and prompt."

  • "This was our first time to Fork and it was delicious! The BBQ shrimp we started with was AMAZING!! One of my husband's Pacific tacos was a little too fishy, but the other was perfect, he loved the jalapeno slaw on them. My 7 oz Filet was the best I have ever had! The potato cake it sat on was perfect and the mushroom cabernet sauce over it was delectable! Our daughter had the BBQ chicken sandwich and home made chips, and loved every bite. We shared the chocolate trio for dessert and that was delicious as well. We will be back!"

  • "My husband and I went to fork for our valentines dinner. We were early for our reservations, but they moved tables around and got us in early. Our waiter was really friendly, but all of the staff there was involved in giving us a good experience. Our food came quickly and had great flavor.. We got their special of the night, steak and crab. It was delious. The only thing was the portion size was small for the cost. Other than that everything was great."
