Diner Reviews
  • "I love the location and decor. Two friends and I came for lunch and had a nice experience. This is my third trip and I have yet to be wowed by the food. I had the urban burger and it was fine but certainly not the best in Boise."

  • "My parents and 90 year old grandmother were in town and we ate here on their last night. My grandmother is not the easiest to please when it comes to going out to eat and she loved everything about the service and food. The filet was excellent. My sister is allergic to dairy and eggs and the server was very patient and helpful in allowing her to make a creative choice. Overall a great experience and will definitely go back."

  • "This is a cool restaurant in an old bank building that serves amazing foodie but not finicky dishes. I was disappointed that it took them a long time to communicate back to me after ordering that they were out of the fish plate that I wanted, but I'm glad I ended up with the roasted beet and cheese plate because it was incredible. My husband got the fish tacos and they were amazing as well. Cocktails are inspired and herby (yes, they use the big ice balls). Overall it was very very crowded, and on a Tuesday night no less, so it is clearly the place to be in Boise. Make a reservation, you'll be glad you did."

  • "We had a great experience on the 4th. The food service was very attentive, but not hovering or disruptive. We shared a Prime Rib dinner - more than enough for two - and it was prepared perfectly! The fried cheese curds for starters are not to be missed."

  • "Best steak I have had in quite a while. The only downside was the red wine by the glass selection. It was lacking in selections and quality of wines offered. One Zinfandel we sent back."

  • "Every time I take someone from out of town to Fork for lunch my guests are impressed and they really enjoy the meal. Good selection and local foods make the menu great!"

  • "Great table, server okay, sat for a while to get her to check on our order, Great food with excellent selection, enjoyed the Bloody Mary bar."

  • "Great sandwiches! My favorite is the BAM Sammy...butter cake is not to be missed!"

  • "We've on two precious occasions to get into Fork but have always been told there were no tables available, so we thought it must be a great place to eat. We made a reservation & anxiously awaited the evening. Upon arriving we were taken to the back corner & placed against a wall (table for 2). The table next to us was open & we thought maybe it was reserved for a larger party. But 5 min after we were squished into our table another party of two was seated there. Did I mention that our table was so high we needed phone books to sit on? The food was mediocre & we were overcharged....not impressed."

  • "Very good food and service. Unique menu items and flavors."

  • "Parmigiano Fries are very inconsistent. Yes Mojito are made with mint but they use way too much. Butter Cake, you must save room for it. Spinach Pasta and Apple-barrel Roasted Chicken both divine. French Dip small portion not worth the price. Overall a nice place, fun and upbeat and tasty."

  • " Had the prime rib yesterday could not see the meat. Looked as if it had been dipped in au ju or fried in a pan. Not as tender as expected, lose the parmesean and rosemary, too much when in is allready on the fries. In Idaho there is an unwritten law that potatoe seasoning must not overpower that great Ifaho Potatoe taste. And they must be fresh not from a holding pan. My wifes fillet was Superiem.I'm having that next time. Still our favorite place in a city center alive with great choices. The type of service usualy only dreamed about. The staff, which feels like a family, wecomes you into a consistantly positive dining experience. Thanks guys."

  • "We can always depend on Fork for fabulous service and food that is simply divine and bursting with flavor. We discuss going other places, but we always end up here and are never disappointed."

  • "Came specifically for burgers. Ordered the kids pasta - very bland and watered down. Little one had 1/4 of my burger instead."

  • "If you're into people watching this is your place when outside dining is permitting. Great ambiance and an eclectic menu that offers something for all foodie types. Although Fork offers some interesting dinner entree selections, this place is probably a better choice for those who simply want drinks, appetizers, burgers or sandwiches. service was decent but at times a bit overbearing. I think our server was flirting with the teenaged girls in our party so he spent a lot of time checking in and filling water glasses that really didn't require filling. I will return but likely stick to the more simpler food items on the menu or just have a drink :)"

  • "Great food and excellent service. Our waiter Chris was extremely personable and knowledgeable about food and drink. Both outdoor and indoor venues are welcoming and comfortable. The location is great. An easy walk from the Hampton Inn where we stayed."

  • "Good food and value. Service was very slow, but that might be because of a large, ~20, person table just behind us. Our server would pass us several times without stopping for our requests. Noise was so great our table of 4 had great difficulty hearing our own conversations. I'd go again but if I see the same results, then I'll strike this one off of the list."

  • "The Sunday Brunch now available at Fork is really delicious. The BAM Omelette was so good. We went with a group of friends and had two babies with us, and it was easy to dine with infants in tow. So glad to have Fork in Boise!"

  • "The only thing better than the food is the service."

  • "Somewhat limited menu, but dinner was excellent, and we had superior service"

  • "The food was just off and the service a little. Wasn't sure if they were just having an off night. I had heard very good things and wanted to go but I doubt I would go back. I do like the building and the atmosphere."

  • "This is my third time at this restaurant. The service is great! The food is average -- nothing special. I have dined with different parties of 4 to 6 each time and this continues to be the overall opinion of the group. "

  • "I love to go to Fork for lunch. There's always interesting items on menu, very good service, great vibe. This spring it's open to outdoors which is fun, too. Highly recommend this place. "

  • "The food tasted wonderful and the staff were friendly and accommodating. "

  • "Would not recommend this restaurant for an "event" dining experience, or for it's service. Our waitress was very mousy and you could hardly hear her with the noise level in the room. The ambiance was fine, but nothing exceptional in any way: food or service. Our party was celebrating a graduation from BSU, and this was a huge disappointment."

  • "This was the second week in a row that I came in for brunch. Food and service were excellent! I'll definitely be back again!"
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "I liked Fork, but it was very noisy the night we were there (a Friday night). Not sure if that was normal, or a busy night in Boise. The food was good. "

  • "We went on the later end of brunch and it wasn't as crowded as I expected. We were seated promptly and served right away. Food was great, service was great, and my mom got a rose for Mother's day. Overall it was a great first time experience!"

  • "Fork was an amazing experience. The service was great, and even though it is a nicer place, my children were treated wonderfully. The asperagus fries were a fantastic start, and the main course meals we ordered were phenomenal. They do a great job of putting a spin on traditional restaraunt food, and their flavor pairings are mouth watering. I will go back again and again."

  • "Our party arrived just at the tail end of brunch on Mother's Day, so the kitchen was out of potatoes of any kind! However, the food was still delicious, our server was attentive and tried to accommodate all our requests, and we liked the single red rose that all women of mothering age received at the end of our meal. We appreciated how gracefully the staff juggled a busy restaurant day. We've always loved Fork but seeing how it operated on a busy "special day" reaffirmed our love. "

  • "Food was really good, as were the Bloody Mary's. Had to ask for cream & sugar for coffee three times. They were busy, so sort of understandable. Luckily we weren't in a rush, and weren't starving, so the slow, sort of inattentive service, was only mildly irritating. Food quality and taste made up for it."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "It was Mother's Day when I went for Brunch. I noticed that some people received a Rose, I am a Mother , but I guess it was asumed by my server that since it was me and my hubby I was not a Mum, so I was not asked if I was a mum. So I did not received a Rose that day. Just saying not Judging."

  • "I have been to the Fork a couple of times and each time I have been pleasantly surprised at how good the food and cocktails are. I think it favorably stacks up against Chandlers and Barbacoa when it comes to food. My only beef (no pun intended) was in the table placement. It seems like some restaurants will seat you in the least preferable table to see if you will be polite and take it or ask for something else. In this case my wife and I were polite and took it but it was a very small table in a corner next to a family with a toddler. However, having said that, the service was very good and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to others. Just be sure to speak up if you don't like the table."

  • "While in Boise for business we tried several different restaurants. Fork was by far the busiest restaurant and it was very loud. We had a hard time talking with each other because of the noise. The menu was extensive with a large selection of appetizers, sandwiches and larger meals. We decided on ordering several appetizers including the pork belly, fried asparagus, homemade potato chips and artichoke. All were good though the pork belly was cooked a little longer than we have experienced in the past. Still good though. "

  • "We escorted experienced guests from Portland Oregon for a night on Boise ambiance. Their opinion of Fork was very high. The food was superb, the service was very professional and warm. The structure of the facility is delightful. "

  • "We'd walked by Fork several times as we visited downtown Boise for the first time, and couldn't wait for our reservation time to get there and dine. We could tell it was a vibrant and stylish place. Then when we got our FOOD, we also knew it was fit for fine dining . Truly DELICIOUS Idaho trout and smoke-grilled artichoke dish were the standouts of our evening at Fork."

  • "We made reservations and they were able to move them up at a moments notice which was very much appreciated. The flavor of some of the items were a little off from what the menu stated. However, our server was not helpful. She made everyone at our feel like they were asking way to much and we were such a bother. Kinda spoiled the experience."
