A word from Fork & Wrench
The Fork & Wrench bar and dining room in Fell’s Prospect, Baltimore offers glocaly sourced, craft made fare and libations. The owners worked for two years to design and hand build the interior space themselves with the goal of evoking the 20’s, 30,s and 40’s working class. There are hints of a workshop, a linen factory line, a pharmacy, a college science lab, and a savings and loan office scattered thru out the rooms, balconies and courtyards of the space. It is their intent to combine the dive bar and 4-star attitudes into one space for the benefit of the “modern day” working class. The kitchen offers craft made fare using all local produce and meats when available. They use old recipes and new techniques (and vice-versa) with global influences to arm their ever-changing menu. We hope you enjoy!Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Usually, my life I love fork and wrench. However, we took some friends there from out of town and The service was very slow and the food was very heavy. While the waiter was very kind, the drinks were too sweet and the food was not up to par."

  • "First time dining at F & W. Heard great reviews and it did not disappoint. Our waiter, Tom, made some excellent recommendations from the Brass Tacks, to the white salad, to the Big Octopus! For dessert we ordered an upside down Apple cake, which was incredible. Would return in a heartbeat."

  • "Although we had heard great things about F&W, our dinner exceeded expectations. The menu was inventive, with a wide range of choices. The wait service was pitch-perfect-- knowledgeable, warm, unobtrusive. The highlight was, of course, the food. It was fresh, skillfully prepared and delicious. I will mention for special note the brussel sprout appetizer and the lobster ravioli. But please, please save room for dessert! Kudos to the amazing pastry chef! Instead of the typical death-by-chocolate giant glob of cake, we were offered well-proportioned, well-balanced and delightful little cakes, with fresh fruit and ice cream-- go for either the cocoa or the butter version. A final thanks to the bar for the fun mixed drinks."

  • "The F&W "in person" was smaller than I thought it would be from the photos I had seen. But I liked the old industrial look. To get to the chase, the dishes we sampled were excellent. They were certainly different than most in our party had had before, but someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing because everything we had came off beautifully. Some of the items we had included polenta, skirt steak, tuna, and monkfish. And the drinks we had were outstanding. The main downside is that we were seated around 4:30 on a Sunday and they were "out of" two of main courses. Hard to understand how they could be out of any dinner item that early in the day. The other negative is that the men's room could have been cleaner and smell better."

  • "I took my husband here for his birthday. Service was great! All food we ordered was delicious and large portions. We def took home leftover! We ordered 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, 2 deserts and cocktails all under 100 dollars! Great find with very tasty food. I would recommend. We ordered the skirt steak and fried chicken for entrees which was both delish. Also the octopus kale salad was wonderful! I would recommend saving room for desert here as well and cocktails. Original food with a fun environment."

  • "-visit before we left. Outstanding, enthusiastic staff from the hostess, to the waiter to the busboy--even the valet parker. Creative menu pushed us--no encouraged us--to experience new foods and preparations. The only mistake we made was just going as a couple--that limited us to the number of dishes we could try. Next time (very soon) will return with one or two couples."

  • "The 1st few times I came here I loved everything- the food, service, and ambience were terrific. Unfortunately, after raving about the place to some friends, I dragged them in for dinner Satuday and our experience was lackluster. When we walked in at 8pm they said they wouldn't have any tables until 9:30pm since we had no reservations. We walked next door to have some drinks & I made a reservation for 9 pm on Opentable, so a few minutes later we walked back and were seated. We waited ~2 hours for our entrees, none of which were all that. I dispatched my foie gras panini in about 3 bites, and our vegietarian friend had a kale salad that was basically a pile of kale with some dressing. Although the owner apologized, I still felt underwhelmed."

  • "Incredible, food was outstanding, drinks were great, service was phenonimal. One of the best places i've been in Baltimore."

  • "Not really a fan of the new menu. Like the old one better with more limited choices"

  • "Our server, Chuck, went out of his way to accommodate two of our party who had some food phobias and restrictions. We all agreed it was one of the best meals ever! This is don't Miss if you are interested in cooking or eating beyond the mainstream where great care is taken at every step of your meal."

  • "The staff did a wonderful job and the food was very good. Definitely a good neighborhood restaurant for any occassion."

  • "The food here is outstanding...imaginative and delicious. Only real drawback is that, if your group os larger than 4, you have no choice but to sit at a high top table or banquet and many of the high chars are stools without backs. We like to be comfortable while enjoying a great meal!"

  • "Our server Chuck was great, he went through the whole menu with us and steered us towards his favorites things and made sure we weren't over ordering. He was the very helpful and the food was fantastic!"

  • "I was very happy to find this gem! The food here is excellent and the waitstaff really goes out of their way to make you happy. The one con I have is that the restaurant can be very loud especially since the rest of the patrons are enjoying their time (and drinks) a little too much! Other than that minor detail I look forward to coming back!"

  • "Great thought has been put into everything here. The menu is complex, sophisticated and accessible, and changes regularly. The cocktails are great. They do the classics, well, classically, but also offer a range of classics well-designed twists, and of course their own house specialties. Wonderful space, especially the lounge on the ground. Wonderful place."

  • "We had an incredible dining experience at Fork and Wrench! My husband and I dined with two other couples, and we had so much fun sharing all of our dishes. All of the dishes were unique with different flavor combinations, and some things that we've never tried before. Our server was excellent, he took the time to go over every dish on the menu! Just about everything on the menu is prepared souveed style (cooking slowly in liquid). We tried most of the different things on the menu, and everything was fantastic! Also, there is an impressive cocktail menu and beer selection. We will definitely be back!"

  • "This was my second time at the fork&wrench; just as with the first time, I was not let down. The food is playful and decadent, the atmosphere is like a scene from a China Millville steampunk novel and the service was impeccable."

  • "Ate here for the 1st time for brunch today. Wanted to love it. It was very good, not great. The decor is a real high point! but our party of 2 was seated right next to a freezer and bus station in a room with only 1 other table in use and about 6 others empty. I wasn't sure if the freezer was in use, or part of decor as an old tub washer was also close by. The waitress said it is real, but wouldn't be accessed. Of course 20 minutes later someone was hanging over me digging through the freezer. Not cool. The food was very good. The foie gras panini, was delicious, except for the very greasy bread. Oddly, the pea sprout side was also greasy. Bacon farrotto was delicious. Will give it a 2nd chance, for dinner next time."

  • "My husband and I went here w/ another friend of ours. We were all very pleased with our experience. Our dinner was fantastic and the service was great. My only complaint is that when we got there at 8:30 for our 8:30 reservation, we were told it would be about 10 minutes because they were "very busy" that night. While there was a good group of people in the restaurant, there were also many empty tables that they didn't seem to be "very busy". We really only wait about 5 minutes, and all in all it was fine- but it was a little "um, really?" when they said that."

  • "Four of us had an early dinner at F&W on Sunday and everything we tried was terrific! These included Insalata Biaco, the Kale Salad, Calmari, Foie Gras Panino, Veal Cheeks, Fried Chicken and Duck Breast. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "We went too F & W on a Sun. Evening. Attractive dining areas. I had the duck which was good, my husband had the pork ribs, they were good but a little greasy. We ordered the orzo special as an appetizer, very tasty! We also had the brussel sprouts, just okay, I like my recipe better. Will go back on another night. Service was very nice!"

  • "Our meal was one of the best we have had in Baltimore in a while. Everything was fabulous. The focaccia was one of the best I have ever had. Need to try to get the recipe!!! The parmesan ravoils with tuna and olives were a completly unexpected combination of flavors and the ravolis weree so tendert they melted in my mouth. Fried chicken was also great. as were the brussel sprouts. Save room for dessert--we had the apple dessert and it was amazing--cross between cake and cobbler. Our server, Chuck, was also great. Geat recommendations and great personality. Can''t wait to try brunch."

  • "My girlfriend and I went to F&W for the second time and it had been over a year since our last visit. The food was unreal. We both agreed that it was the best meal we've had in Baltimore in years! Our waiter Chuck was extremely knowledgeable about the food, how it was prepared and even pointed us to a few items we probably wouldn't have tried without his recommendation, and they ended up being our favorite parts of the meal. The cocktail menu was even a huge hit. Can't wait to go back soon!"

  • "I selected this restaurant from the internet and am going to look at again there to find out how I could go so wrong. My friend and I had reserved a table for two and we were ushered into a table smack against the wall and within a few feet of the next table. It was situatied so that every waiter or person coming or leaving would be going closely by our table. We noticed there were two other tables for two in the restaurant in a much better placement. The menus were spotty and dirty, the ambiance - well lit, noisy - was just bad vibes. We phoned our van to come back and had two drinks out of politeness while waiting and left. Arghhh! ps. The waiter, I think his name was Tom - was amiable."

  • "The food was incredible. It reminds me of restaurant in Brooklyn but with actual space to sit down and not be overcrowded. I'm always skeptical of portion sizes at restaurants similar to this but I left full. Everything tasted amazing. The only downfall I see is that if you are a beer enthusiast, their selection is limited. Good drinks but not a lot to choose from. This place is great if you have friends from out of town or want to have a nice quiet date."

  • "try to avoid dining on third floor. was looking forward to the atmosphere and energy of the place, however, when seated on the third floor dark corner, under a huge round a/c vent, half of the pleasure of the dining experience disappeared. fork and wrench should do both themselves and their customers a favor and make the left hand side third floor some sort of green space and get rid of the one out of the way deary table."

  • "My husband and I went for his birthday. We love trying different places. This was perfect. Cool decor. Extensive cocktail and bar menu. Great service. All of the food was phenomenal. We just kept saying "this is SO good!" Definitely recommend and will be returning."

  • "The atmosphere, drinks, food, and service all lead you to a wonderful dining experience! Fork and Wrench came highly recommended from many friends so we decided to give it a try to celebrate a job promotion. The rave reviews of friends did not disappoint! If you have the chance to eat here (and a few extra dollars to spend) you should give Fork and Wrench a try!"

  • "Took my wife to F & W as a surprise birthday gift. (She had been talking for months about trying the restaurant). She was thrilled when we walked up to the front door since the entire drive from Cockeysville I had been telling her we were going to Tio Pepe's, Cinghiale, Charlston, Pazo, etc. She loved it so much, I became a hero!!!"

  • "This was our second time here and though the menu had changed with the chef change it was still excellent. The food was slightly different than we expected, such as the beets and olives both coming warm. There was truly enough olives for all 4 to share. The entrees were excellent, but the one shortcoming was that the chicken was 3 leg quarters and we were expecting a half-chicken including a breast. While all the appetizers and entrees were excellent the true star of the evening was the oatmeal apple cake. The waiter strongly recommended it and he was right on."

  • "This was not my first time at Fork & Wrench and it certainly won't be my last. My dining companion for the evening was a chef so a critical eye was given to the food. Since we share our food, both of us enjoyed everything brought to the table. If they have an olive oil poached calamari on the menu when you go, get it! I have had 2 versions there and loved both. Service was on point. The waiter listened to what I like to drink, translated it to the mixologist and brought me the perfect cocktail. They are into the details, they even labeled the "doggy boxes" so they were easy to sort. Each room has it's own atmosphere/decor and totally visually appealing. The first floor bar was packed as were all the banquettes and tables when we left. GO!"

  • "I took my wife there on Valentine's Day for a special dinner and, did not realize that they had a special Valentine's Day menu and you were unable to order off of the regular menu. I went there because my friend suggested it and said that they had amazing food. The Valentine's Day menu gave three choices for each of the three courses. The choices they gave were not that great. The food was not very good tasting but was nice to look at. I would not recommend this place on Valentine's Day. On a positive note. The actual restaurant was very nice and the service was great. They even gave my wife and I a Valentine's Day sucker because I mentioned that it was also our one year wedding anniversary."

  • "Went for dinner...disappointed....some peeks into culinary innovativeness...but the citrus sald with roasted olives was a jar of warm olives with slices of some citrus for 11 bucks What? Chicken must have been the leg and breast from chicken little because it was teeny and not much meat....for 20 something dollars...no bread, or,sides served...now the dessert was delicious...but they need to make their food somewhat equivalent to the price....won't be back"

  • "Made reservation through Open Table. Met at door by hostess after car was parked. Arrived early and was seated at table before reservation. Enjoyed paging through cocktail and wine list. Great variety of cocktails, though we drank wine. Waitress gave us a tour of the menu, pointing out favorites. We enjoyed foie gras and calamari as appetizers. We split an entree. Portions were well sized. We skipped dessert. Overall, happy with experience and would recommend to others and would definitely return to try other dishes!"
