Diner Reviews
  • "Enjoyed our dinner. Menu had a little for everyone. Atmosphere relaxed and they did not rush us out the door. Would definitely go back again."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "Was most disappointed by the deviled eggs which were dry and clearly several hours old... The trout was greasy and undercooked and when sent back even greasier with a greasy tabouli underneath... so much grease I complained but "that's how we do it here at Ford's"... Well they can keep their food."
    Dined on 4/10/2014
  • "The many pig pictures support their talent for pork dishes. Try the pulled pork grilled cheese and you won't regret it. My only ding is that it was quite noisy and at times challenging to discuss business."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "Tad on the hipster side but food good and service very good. Front patio probably better than side. Tables could use some space. Not crazy about tables with corner legs, a bit hard to fit if you're last seated. Fun vibe tho."
    Dined on 4/3/2014
  • "As always, they provide a quality service and good traditional American food. Good for groups since they don't rush you out of the door when you are there to catch up with friends, while nursing your drink. Great place."

  • "We have been to Ford's numerous times but never for brunch. It was busy but not hectic. The service was great but not pushy. The food was flavorful and ample. Bloody Mary's and Mimosas for $5!"
    Dined on 3/30/2014
  • "Very limited menu, one chicken entree, a hamburger and some other more expensively priced entrees. Food quality was good, not great. A bit on pricey side and ambiance wasn't that great. We sat in an area that looked like it was an outdoor patio that had been enclosed. Would not recommend."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "The vibe has completely changed since we last went. Used to be a nice restaurant that was difficult to get a reservation at. Seems more like a pub now. We went with another couple and the wives got trout. Neither could eat it. Men got burgers and fries and they were very good. Margs were a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Wine list was just avg"

  • "Couldnt get a table on saturday night so came here on sunday. Very quiet and good service. The five alarm chicken wings were tooooooo hot!!!! Outch.... Burned all over... Rest of the dishes were very nice. Good beer."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "The staff was friendly, the location convenient and the ambiance pleasant... I was very disappointed with the food, however. Steer clear of the fish tacos: tortillas off the grocery store shelf with a couple of pieces of fried fish a heap of cabbage and a whisper of sauce. Dry, uninteresting and overpriced."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Food was good but one of the two pork chops was 50% fat though."

  • "As always, a foodie's spin is applied to the signature dishes. Service is excellent and the ambience is always low key, but fun. I recommend the restaurant to anyone and I respect the fact that Mr. Ford was on the forefront of culinary innovation in Los Angeles dining BEFORE many, many others. Whether it's the whole pig dinner on a few days notice or his homemade charcuterie, Mr. Ford is a trailblazer. It doesn't have to be exotic, just good. And it is."

  • "I was excited when I learned the chef at this restaurant was a son of Harrison Ford. I love a lot of his movies. Unfortunately the same attention to detail which characterizes the father's acting craft does not extend to service at this establishment. My chief complaint is that it took FOREVER to get our food, and the restaurant was not that crowded (weekday lunchtime). The food was good, but the service felt indifferent. At times food for other tables was brought to us, which made me fear that our food would be given to someone else. I can't imagine what this place is like on a busy Friday or Saturday night..."

  • "The food is very good, a bit on the expensive side but well worth the extra pennies. The menu changes often with seasons and whats available which I love."
    Dined on 1/27/2014
  • "The rare hamburger was medium. The size of the burger was disappointing for $15. My friend liked her fish, said it was quite good, I was disappointed"

  • "We celebrated Valentine's Day at Ford's Filling Station. Really enjoyed our appetizer (ahi) and dinner (Beef Wellington) along with the wine pairings. Our waitress, Hayley, was exceptional! She made our evening perfect!"

  • "First time there. Had a galley event in the neighborhood and grabbed a late dinner. Great beer list and really great special cocktails. Out server Sean recommended the drinks. Cheers to him."

  • "Second time here and enjoyed it again. I went with the shrimp and grits. AMAZING! At first bite its lime forward on your tounge, then a little bit of heat and spice finishes it off. Perfect with some whiskey! The only thing annoying was the heater on the patio was blowing hot air on my face. I asked for it to be turned down and it was but just the temprature. So then it was slightly less hot air blowing in my face. Great service!"

  • "I'd heard great things about Ford's Filling Station but thought, from the name, it might just be an upscale diner. Never more wrong. Eclectic menu with offerings from everywhere, including the South and Pacific Northwest. Fun custom cocktail list. Great bar surrounded by wooden tables for 2-4 diners each. Indoor and outdoor dining options. Fantastic service from beginning to end. Delicious meal. Great ambiance."

  • "Even though we booked a table, the rather unhelpful hostess offered us a table by the wall, that was approximately 2x3 and way too small to have anything other than drinks at, we chose to sit outside, even on one of the colder LA evening - it wasn't too bad with the heater, but not the cosy evening I was anticipating. The food was fair - not great, but with only 6 main courses to choose from, I'm not sure what they are going for - certainly not the foodies."

  • "Great food that was well prepared and very good. Unique choices."

  • "My friend and I came to Ford's for lunch to celebrate our birthdays. I have only been for dinners, so this was great ! We shared their bacon wrapped and goat cheese stuffed dates which were soooo good. My friend had their BLTA and I had their Pork Belly Grilled Cheese Sandwich - yep - could have not been better. We also shared a bottle of Emanuel Tres Viognier - WOW - that was a good bottle of wine ! Thank you Ford's - we shall return again soon !"

  • "We chose the DineLA menu and the staff and food service was great. Every time we got up to go to the restroom with in a minute someone was there to fold your napkin or refil your drinks. They weren't over attentive and annoying but perfectly timed. Great food, awesome service. Will be back again!"

  • "Went to this place for their dineLA special, and had a wonderful time. They had a good variety of beers on tap, and even more bottled, and their specialty cocktails were delicious. Not overly bright giving it a romantic mood, and not uppity with the dress code that a T-shirt and jeans feels out of place. Definitely will be returning for the lunch and dinner options in the future."

  • "This used to be so good. I had people come to try it for Dine LA and it was embarrassing. Slow/indifferent service, boring food. The bar is still the best option here, great bartenders and a nice snack selection."
    Dined on 1/23/2014
  • "The food was average but not great. My lamb burger had very little flavor and the brioche bun was very greasy. The flat iron steak was tough and should have been served at Sizzler."
    Dined on 1/25/2014
  • "I met three friends there during LA Food Week. I'm a Foodie. They are not. We all loved our lunches."
    Dined on 1/23/2014
  • "Food and service were great. Easy to get in (went early) and get out in time for a show. Wine was good."

  • "Pork belly wraps-da Bomb Gods spilt pea soup, lamb dip and fried chicken breast all very well done and delicious."
    Dined on 1/21/2014
  • "I know it was a Sat night - but we had an early reservation. Definitely expected better service. Perhaps they were short-handed? We always had to hunt someone down just to get our water glasses filled. Our waiter was slow to take a drink order, did not have much to say about the menu( i.e. enthusiastic recommendations), and forgot to place our side dish orders. The food was delicious & portions were plentiful, so we opted to cancel our sides. He comped our corkage fee to make up for it."
    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "The food here is really good and a great place to go to if you can take the attitude of the waiters. Is it so hard to be friendly?"
    Dined on 1/16/2014
  • "Everything was good. Nice atmosphere, refreshing variety of food, fast service. The red wine was a little too warm."

  • "Our group of 5 enjoyed a great meal at Ford's Filling Station! The wait staff and bartender did a tremendous job of explaining our meal and drink options! We'll be back!"

  • "Made a reservation here for New Years Eve because we were in town to attend the Rose Parade. Like the name of the restaurant. What a find....scenic part of downtown Culver City. Best meal I've had in quite a while. Attentive service and excellent music. Seemed well run....efficient, happy staff, clean, and wonderful food....all at a reasonable price."

  • "I was particularly impressed with our waiter and the service in general -- excelllent!"

  • "Had a reservation to go there before a theater performance. Barely fit the meal into 1 1/2 hrs. Especially when it came to drinks and placing the order, the waitress ignored us. We only barely managed to finish eating in time because we told the staff about our time constraint (a positive). Ate the lamb burger. It was fine, but could have been spiced more. We liked the mussel appetizer. Overall, the place was very very loud. Sitting on the outdoor patio may have been nicer. We will probably not go back, there are so many other enticing choices around in downtown Culver City."

  • "Went to the Kirk Douglas Theater and had chosen this restaurant for a pre-show dinner. Amazing food and drink. Music inside, variety in terms of dining choices (from vegan to fish to serious meat eaters. Food was incredibly well seasoned, tasty and plentiful. Will definitely drive down to the west side again. Many choice restaurants but this is place deserves repeat visits."

  • "Every time we go to Ford's it's a guarantee we will leave happy. The staff are attentive and accommodating and the food is excellently prepared. The kale chips were light and tasty. The handcut pasta delicious. Gavin & Rod make dining at Ford's Filling station a gone to heaven experience."

  • "This restaurant was mentioned in a 'cauldron BBQ' article in Sunset magazine so was curious to try it since it seemed like owner/chef was very knowledgeable about grilling/roasting. Ironically, I ended up ordering the butternut squash pasta (though the squash may have been grilled!)--which was delicious. The bacon wrapped dates were out of this world, too. And I loved the fuji apple salad. Great find and will definitely go back/recommend."
