Went for a quick bite on the spur of the moment. They were very accommodating and sat us outside on the side patio. The ambience is quite nice and it it relatively quiet. You cannot hear the traffic noise or smell the exhaust. Our waiter was very friendly and lunch was good!

Have heard about restaurant and decided to try it before our play at the Kirk Douglass Theatre down the street. The food was GREAT. Flatbread with mushrooms, arugula and cheese was done just right, still crisp, not overcooked and just the right amount to split. The pork belly lettuce cups were out of this world. Two larger portions to split, tender pork, slightly sweet and salty, perfect. We finished with the burger, with cheese and sauté onions. The bun was lightly crusty and delicately soft on inside, the burger had a lightly grill crunch to the surface of the meat while keeping the requested medium rare on the inside. Very nicely done. Too full for desert. Service friendly and attentive, live music playing. Would go back again.

Food was really pretty good. Sat outside on the patio, so the people watching was a nice extra. Service was okay but the place was packed. I would come back here again. I think the newness has finally wore off and this place is here to stay.

Quite frankly, they exceeded my expectations. However, my girlfriend's eggs were over hard, not over medium as she had asked. The rest of the food was great. We will be back. The staff is very friendly and our waitress was WONDERFUL!!! Can't remember her name, but she had reddish hair. We were the first customers to come in on Easter morning and other staff members were very friendly and gracious as well. Like I stated, we will be back. In fact, next week, this time we will try dinner. P.S.: It was also my first time with Open Table. I am glad I used it! I am going to recommend both Ford's Filling Station and Open Table to my friends and business associates. Sincerely, Mark Redick Playa del Rey, California

Had a couple people in town and needed a comfortable relaxed spot to catch up and actually have a conversation. We had a reservation, but chose to sit in the bar area b/c a high-top was open when we walked in. Four of us shared a bunch of dishes, all of which were solid (highlights: octopus tostada, onion rings, baby artichokes). We also sampled a variety of cocktails, almost all of which were very good. The one misfire on the drinks side was quickly replaced by our server with a new suggestion. They also have a nice selection of draft beer. Finished with blueberry pie, which was VERY good. Overall a great evening. Would go back for a similar situation in a heartbeat.

I think there are several types of experiences you can have at this place. If you want a good burger and a cheap ($4) PBR they have that. If you want (delicious) bacon-wrapped dates and more foodie-ish dishes, they have that as well. As for me, I really enjoyed the special cocktail of the day, I thought the appetizers were delicious, and the burger wasn't a stand out, but it wasn't disappointing. I liked it there. I sat outside, but the inside did look like it had some charm to it.

Was most disappointed by the deviled eggs which were dry and clearly several hours old... The trout was greasy and undercooked and when sent back even greasier with a greasy tabouli underneath... so much grease I complained but "that's how we do it here at Ford's"... Well they can keep their food.

Very limited menu, one chicken entree, a hamburger and some other more expensively priced entrees. Food quality was good, not great. A bit on pricey side and ambiance wasn't that great. We sat in an area that looked like it was an outdoor patio that had been enclosed. Would not recommend.

The vibe has completely changed since we last went. Used to be a nice restaurant that was difficult to get a reservation at. Seems more like a pub now. We went with another couple and the wives got trout. Neither could eat it. Men got burgers and fries and they were very good. Margs were a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Wine list was just avg

The staff was friendly, the location convenient and the ambiance pleasant... I was very disappointed with the food, however. Steer clear of the fish tacos: tortillas off the grocery store shelf with a couple of pieces of fried fish a heap of cabbage and a whisper of sauce. Dry, uninteresting and overpriced.

As always, a foodie's spin is applied to the signature dishes. Service is excellent and the ambience is always low key, but fun. I recommend the restaurant to anyone and I respect the fact that Mr. Ford was on the forefront of culinary innovation in Los Angeles dining BEFORE many, many others. Whether it's the whole pig dinner on a few days notice or his homemade charcuterie, Mr. Ford is a trailblazer. It doesn't have to be exotic, just good. And it is.

I was excited when I learned the chef at this restaurant was a son of Harrison Ford. I love a lot of his movies. Unfortunately the same attention to detail which characterizes the father's acting craft does not extend to service at this establishment. My chief complaint is that it took FOREVER to get our food, and the restaurant was not that crowded (weekday lunchtime). The food was good, but the service felt indifferent. At times food for other tables was brought to us, which made me fear that our food would be given to someone else. I can't imagine what this place is like on a busy Friday or Saturday night...

Second time here and enjoyed it again. I went with the shrimp and grits. AMAZING! At first bite its lime forward on your tounge, then a little bit of heat and spice finishes it off. Perfect with some whiskey! The only thing annoying was the heater on the patio was blowing hot air on my face. I asked for it to be turned down and it was but just the temprature. So then it was slightly less hot air blowing in my face. Great service!

Indoor and outdoor dining options. Fantastic service from beginning to end. Delicious meal. Great ambiance.

Even though we booked a table, the rather unhelpful hostess offered us a table by the wall, that was approximately 2x3 and way too small to have anything other than drinks at, we chose to sit outside, even on one of the colder LA evening - it wasn't too bad with the heater, but not the cosy evening I was anticipating. The food was fair - not great, but with only 6 main courses to choose from, I'm not sure what they are going for - certainly not the foodies.

Went to this place for their dineLA special, and had a wonderful time. They had a good variety of beers on tap, and even more bottled, and their specialty cocktails were delicious. Not overly bright giving it a romantic mood, and not uppity with the dress code that a T-shirt and jeans feels out of place. Definitely will be returning for the lunch and dinner options in the future.
