The food at Forage is connected to the land around us. We serve a single set tasting menu each night made up of ingredients from the wild as well as small farms and ranches. We attempt to serve the best ingredients we can find without losing the connection to their natural state. • "I recommend the tasting menu - vegetarian or meat. Every taste is unique, and even the items I didn't love (which were most) have the most unusual, imaginative palette. The food incredibly imaginative without being pretentious. The service is professional and attentive. The atmosphere is calm and unpretentious. Reserve well in advance and take someone you want to talk to for 3-4 hours. This is dinner as a show and worth every penny."

  • "We were in Salt Lake for a ski adventure with friends and they found Forage through a recommendation from friends. We checked out the website and were a bit skeptical that the meal would be a bit too earthy for us, though we were very pleasantly surprised by the flavorful and gorgeous dishes served to us through out the night. Particular highlights were the acorn dessert and smoked trout. The restaurant itself was a joy, since it was fairly quiet (so many restaurants we go to these days are loud and full of echos) and a had a great ambience. Would recommend to both foodies as well as diners who want a very special meal to share with friends."

  • "Hands down, the most imaginative, creative, delicious tasting meal I've had. You will leave feeling so satisfied, yet invigorated about life again through this wonderful food experience. I'm a repeat customer, and will return many more times to taste the ever-changing menu. No exaggeration to say that each bite will engage you."

  • "Forage was by far the most masterful meal I have ever had the pleasure to participate in. I could not recommend it highly enough. We went for our anniversary and they had printed out custom menus that had the date and 'happy anniversary' on top. The experience was every bit as amazing as the food was."

  • "At the end of a weeks conference, i decided to treat myself to a dining experience. I was concerned about dining alone but that was quickly dispensed by the attentive, warm and gracious service. Give yourself 2 hours to savor the chefs tasting menu. Each dish was beautifully prepared and elegantly presented. Despite the number of dishes (15), i never felt stuffed! The menu probably changes with the seasons. There were veggie dishes, cheese dishes, an amazing morsel of smoked trout, an elk dish to die for, lamb 2 ways etc. I chose red wine to accompany my meal and they were terrific (grapes from portugal!) Foodies enjoy! Please ensure you take folks whose company you enjoy."

  • "Forage really lives up to the farm to table promise in wonderfully creative ways. Don't rush your three hour meal - savor every bite."

  • "12 course tasting menu was incredible. There was not a single taste that I had experienced before, and I get around... Look closely to find the place as it's nestled in a residential neighborhood in an unexpected place. Probably the most interesting meal I have ever had, and I mean that in a good way!"

  • "For my birthday this year, my wife and I made a reservation at Forage. I made the reservation early since this place tends to fill up. The flow of the meal and the service were outstanding. The food really stood out as being original and very difficult to reproduce at home. The flavors were distinct and exciting. We enjoyed the fact that the chef took the time to come out and serve two of the courses to us. While the price is high for us, that makes it all the more memorable and special."

  • "I have been quite fortunate in my life to have experienced some of the finest dining in the world. While I would not rate Forage the best, it is definitely very high on my list. The setting is a converted small house in an old neighborhood. Cozy and quiet. I always do a tasting menu when it is offered because I feel it is going to be what the chef feels is their best effort for the day. At Forage, your only choice is a tasting menu, as well as a small or large wine pairing or a fresh juice paring (Which was amazing too as my date chose the juice.) There were 16 courses in all and it took 3 hours to complete. No course larger than 5-6 bites, but each special and unique. Not all were home runs, but all were amazing."

  • "If you can taste, smell, feel and see, this will be the finest dining experience you will have in Salt Lake City. Every dish is a work of art for each of the senses."

  • "the food is beautifully presented, you can see lots of work goes into every course but the portions are tiny and you will leave hungry. they need to double the size of the portions to make this a decent value. you should not spend $350 and leave hungry. the wine pairings were mediocre. some were good others were not. my husband is gluten free and they did plan a special meal for his diet. they provide small servings for the first few courses and gave him half of a brussel sprout!!!! i'm not kidding, half of a brussel sprout. he is 6'2" and they gave him half of a sprout, couldn't they afford the other half????? he looked at his plate and burst out laughing."

  • "Extremely creative food. Many small courses, beautifully presented. We have eaten at many high end restaurants all over the world and Forage matches the best in quality, creativity and service. A must for us whenever we come to Salt Lake."

  • "This was my 3rd time at the restaurant. The food has gotten better, the flavors and variety were most excellent in every way. The service was impeccable and the speed of bring items out was perfectly timed on each and every course."

  • "By far one the most interesting experiences in dining I have had in a while. The ambience is simple but very comfortable. The food was exquisite. The variety and quality of food was unbelievable. The cost of the evening was very expensive but worth the money. I think that the quantity of the food was only fair. I do not expect much when eating at a tasting menu, but it think the portions were fairly "skimpy" when you considering the cost. An example- one baby beet in a a sweetened balsamic vinegar rolled in seeds. It was very tasty and I enjoyed it, but it was size of a quarter. That said the experience was worth the cost. I only add the above criticism as a constructive way for the restaurant to improve the experinece and the meal."

  • "What an amazing dinner for a special night, a true culinary experience with phenomenal service and romantic atmosphere. I didn't think it would live up to the incredible hype but it exceeded all expectations. Chef Bowman Brown gave us our last dessert course to personally wish me a happy birthday. A real treat - well worth the cost."

  • "This place truly is a hidden gem. The outdoor ambience was cozy, and well-matched for the restaurant's name. Each course was a burst of flavor. The mushroom and sweet potato puree course was a favorite as well as the elk, and the buckwheat nest in the appetizer group. Definitely an experience worth the price. Staff was well trained, and the service was what you'd expect at a four star restaurant. The parting gift of house-made granola given at the door was the icing on the cake. We left extremely satisfied."

  • "This was an amazing experience! It's a nice treat and we cannot wait for the menu to change with the season and go back again. We felt the wine pairing was spot on, but it does add significantly to the cost of the evening. Perhaps next time we'll do a bottle...or the mini-pair...or just go for the whole she-bang. Really impressed with the food and the service."

  • "What stands out here is the originality of the numerous individual dishes. They are novel, imaginative and beautifully presented. The decor is simple, and the atmosphere conducive to conversation. It is a "quiet" place to dine, and that means a lot to me."

  • "Amazing flavors all through the tasting menu meal. However, we were disappointed that the promise to customize our advance indication of being pescatarians resulted in two of the three meat dishes were simply served without the meat and not with an alternative preparation. Nice wine pairings with bottles available to us at the State liquor store."

  • "Chef Bowman Brown trained at Gary Danko in San Francisco and they must miss his presence there. The 15 course tasting menu is superb and rivals restaurants with world wide recognition. The food is packed with flavor that explodes on the palate Do not miss the wine pairing as they are extremely well thought out. Its also a bargain as the price would be more than doubled in larger metropolitan areas"

  • "My husband and I came in for his 40th birthday. We just moved to Utah from Austin, TX and the biggest concern we had about moving to Utah was the food scene. It is amazing in Austin. Well....Forage rivals ANY restaurant in Austin and ANY top restaurant in the world. I truly mean it. The food was delicious, creative, unique and memorable. What a wonderful evening my husband and I had . The only thing that I would give as a heads up is that dinner is very long. Make it your night and don't plan much after. We were there for 3 hours, which is totally fine for us!"

  • "Forage is a very special restaurant experience. Over the course of our 3-hour dinner we talked about the food more than anything else. It's all very creative and beautifully presented. Each of the 16 courses are small in size, but large in flavor and interest. If you have a big appetite, you could leave slightly hungry. (although, each guest was presented with a little granola for the next morning's breakfast which could tide someone over.) I have eaten at Forage 3 times; twice in the winter and once in the fall. Each meal was unique. The menu is seasonally inspired. I can only imagine what they do with the bounties of spring and summer!"

  • "I could go on and on about how positive of an experience it was to eat at Forage, but it would be almost impossible to express how much we enjoyed the experienced (I have already attempted to do so to friends and family, and my words can never do it justice). Know that this is far more than a restaurant. It is an experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant allows you to focus on the food. The food is a perfect harmony of taste, texture, and smell that create a sensation unlike anything previously experienced. This is like watching the movie Gravity in an Imax 3D theatre where other restaurants are other movies. It's not like any other food you've tried, and you leave with a new view on the potential of fine dining."

  • "First off, this hidden gem was discreetly located underneath a blank billboard. The actual restaurant looks like a home. Food was amazing as well as the ambience. It was a great romantic spot and my gf really enjoyed the experience."

  • "The experience at Forage is not quite similar to any of my other dining experiences. The many different flavors and smaller portions was very interesting to the palate , especially when paired with wine. The keen attention to service and timing was very good. This would be considered a special occasion for most, as the pricing a bit higher than a fine steakhouse, but the experience is nothing like a fine steakhouse."

  • "My husband and I had a mind blowing meal at Forage on a Saturday night. The attention to every detail was amazing and we had so much fun enjoying the juxtaposition of flavor and texture in every bite. We ate some things that we ordinarily wouldn't have gone out of our way for and loved it all. By the end of the meal we felt that we were beginning to catch the vision of what 'forage' really means to the hugely talented chef. But all you need to know is that Forage means delicious!"

  • "Wow! The most amazing dining experience we've had in a while. On par with any New York restaurants by far. It's probably what Noma is like, if I could ever get in and I was ever in Copenhagen. Our experience was ethereal. Service jlike a well liked machine, got a tiny but rusty as the place filled up. We did the juice pairing. Yes . . . Juice pairing. It exceeded our expectations starting with the juniper branch infused hot cider over cream poured by Chef Brown himself. The food,15 courses, I think I lost count, was not overwhelming. Subtle with almost laughable sizes at times, but made some much sense by the time you were finished and pleasantly full. Melt in your mouth food with breathtaking presentation. Forage is not to be missed!"

  • "This is not just dining. It is a complete experience. I don't believe that this is a restaurant that is typical for Utah. If you are expecting your take home box, stay home. Definitely an establishment for a refined an adventurous palate. Well done."

  • "Dining at Forage, with its ever-changing menu, is an adventure and an experience. You may or may not like all the "bites" in the 15-course tasting menu (we did), but you will certainly find several to be incredible. And as others have commented, the servers are well-informed and happy to answer questions about the courses. Yes, Forage is expensive, although still less than many other restaurants of this type and every bit as good. The wine pairings were excellent, although not, in our opinion, an enhancement rather than a necessity for enjoying the meal and the experience."

  • "The creativity & quality of food and service at Forage are unparalleled in SLC. We always celebrate our birthdays & anniversaries here. We lived in NYC for 13 years, so we've been exposed to many fine dining experiences. What Forage produces in it's humbly contemporary & modest setting is quite special. Chef Bowman Brown is uniquely inventive. I think the portions are quite appropriate for their tasting menu, and the service is the best in SLC. Thank you Chef Brown and Forage for doing what you do!"

  • "Forage is the best restaurant in Salt Lake City. It's also the most expensive. We just finished our second annual 'New Year's Eve' at Forage and again, it was memorable. This restaurant is not for patrons with pedestrian tastes as everything served will surprise you. When was the last time that happened to you in any restaurant? We'll be there again next New Year's Eve and I'll think about that ever week until then."
