We offer Bold American Cuisine with no boundaries. Our passion for sourcing the best local and organic foods comes out in Chef Ralph Fernandez's award winning food. Our menu diversity embraces small plates, raw + vegan + vegetarian + modern american food.
Our concept is simple: great food, great service in a casually elegant setting.

Forage is located at the heart of Exton, PA on Main Street at Exton Town Center. We are open 6 days a week, Tuesday through Saturday for lunch, with brunch on Sundays, with dinner starting at 5pm Tuesday through Sunday.

  • "Okay Chester Springs we're not in Kansas anymore! This is the finest restaurant this side of the main line. Fresh and expertly prepared food. Excellent service. Flavors are unique and it's obvious that a lot of thought goes into each dish's preparation and presentation. (We witnessed this by having front row seats to the open kitchen). The restaurant catered to my wife's restricted diet without missing a beat. The atmosphere is inviting and the property is immaculate. Hopefully other area restaurants will take note and start upping their games."

  • "We celebrated my husband's birthday with friends at Forage and were most impressed by this new restaurant in Exton. The server was very sweet but our group was very vocal and she had a hard time being heard over our chatter. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entree. I ordered the salmon upon recommendation and my the four sitting around me ordered the filet mignon. Their plates were covered with meat, potatoes and a salad, where as my entree was placed on a stack of tiny potatoes with no green vegetable. Adding steamed or sautéed asparagus would have made all the difference to balance to the visual presentation. Deserts were delicious. We will go back to try out the small plates. Bringing your own wine makes it all the more appealing!"

  • "I really like this restaurant and cannot wait to go back to try more things on the menu. I do a lot of gourmet cooking at home, so when I dine out, the food needs to be exceptional...this is one of those places. The desserts were to die for...especially the croissant bread pudding. We did not realize that there was outdoor dining or we might have chosen to eat outside, but it was cozy and enjoyable inside, too. Great meal...oh, and I also thought that the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food."

The Tapas style (smaller portions at moderate prices) allowed us to sample many different items from the menu without spending more than a typical upscale entrée dinner. We highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "After having read the great reviews and we were very excited to try Forage. The small plates were quite good. We had the tuna and the shrimp. Unfortunately, we were rushed by our server who cleared the dishes before we even had a chance to finish. My beet salad was very nice. From the large plate menu I ordered the filet mid rare. What I received looked and tasted like flank steak ( it was served thin sliced) and was over cooked. My husband had short ribs. He said they were quite fatty. The large plates were served by someone other than our server. He did not bring us forks. We had to take the forks off the table next to us. We will not be returning anytime soon."

  • "We took our children, ages 14 and 9. The chef made a special shrimp and pasta for our 9 year old. The home made pasta was delicious. My husband got the diver scallops and said that they were the best he had had in years. I got the crab cake and my son the braised pork. We loved every bite. Our waiter, Michael, was friendly and helpful. It is a BYOB which we always like. The portions are on the lighter side, but the prices reflect that. 4 entrees, 2 soft drinks and 2 desserts came to 88.00. Unheard of these days. Not a single complaint!!"

We arrived at 6:00 PM on Saturday and there was barely anyone there...hopefully the word gets out about this place. BTW I NEVER write reviews for restaurants, so trust me when I say this place is awesome!"

  • "Based on a friend's recommendation, I took another friend here and sampled their tasting menu. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful! As a vegetarian they tweaked their shrimp linguine and the combination of mushrooms, spinach, artichokes in their light sauce was amazing! They offer vegan and raw choices as well, along with fantastic meat options for my friends and even a burger for my non adventurous husband. I am already making lunch and to return. It is definitely the best restaurant locally!"

  • "We can say a lot about this place but what comes to mind... it is the best, most beautifully plated food I have had in a long time. The creations are magnificent. The flavors are so perfectly blended and the presentation is exquisite. The service was friendly, helpful and first class. I took my GM for a business meeting and we were blown away. The owner comes to our restaurant 'Raw Can Roll Cafe' in Wayne for some of our Raw goodies. He mentioned that he was a chef and had a restaurant. So as loyal business owners, we decided to patronize his restaurant since he always comes to ours. He told us it was great but we had no idea of how great it was. Absolutely amazing. We have told a million people at this point and will go again and again. XO"

  • "Our first choice of restaurant was too busy, so we searched Open Table for another. After reading the good reviews for Forage American Brasserie, we decided to give it a try. And I'm so glad we did. It was a wonderful experience, starting with our waitress (Teri) who was super friendly and informative. Their tapas menu had a variety of delights. My wife and I both selected the option to choose two small tapas plates and one full size plate. This option also included fresh seasonal juice, jalepeno cornbread and tuna tartar. The tuna tartar was outstanding, as were the rest of out plates. We finished with deserts (mine was Bananas Foster on a waffle) with a unique mixture of ingredients and was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "This restaurant is the most wonderful dinning experience in Chester Co.. The chef is very creative with all the selections on his menu. Everything he puts in front of you is spectacular. You can tell he loves what he is doing. I would eat there twice a week if I were able. This restaurant is a must try. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us with his summer menu. If you get a chance to dine at Forage make sure you try the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Tartare and the Salt & Pepper Shrimp on the small plates menu. The Jail Island Salmon, the Sliced Wood Grilled Filet Mignon, the Yellow Fin Tuna and The Lump Crab Cake area must!! I could go on forever but you simply must try this restaurant. "

  • "We had visited Forage a while back when it had a different title. This time the food was great, service was great. There was a bit of a hitch service wise (slow to take our order) but it was made up by great service and "extra" goodies brought forth to the table. I would highly recommend Forage to anyone who wishes a good meal and personalized service."

  • "Read about name change in the paper, had never been to before. This place has a great chef and a killer menu. Went with family (5) Saturday before Mothers Day and was so excited to see such creative dishes I think we tried at least half of the menu items and we all shared tastes with each other. It was hard to decide what we liked best. Went back this past Sunday and had the 6 course Chefs Tasting Menu for $35 !!! Nothing in the area comes close to the quality & price of this place. Our new local favorite."

I guess that this is a reasonable description of the currently chic menu style with tiny, small and medium plates drawing from a broad but predictable palette of in-fashion food groups. Certainly as good as the last name for this convenient, neighborhood spot. First the good stuff: the tuna tartar was a good representation while the wedge salad presentation was a bit over-cute. The pappardelle with chicken confit had an interesting lemony sauce. The food reflects thought and careful preparation. This could not be said for the server who was young, charming and mostly clueless. If attitude and intent were all that counted, I might have thought we were at the Four Seasons, but..."

  • "This was our first time at Forage. We got off to a bumpy start with our courses coming out too quickly even though we requested it be paced slowly. We started with the cheese plate, shared a small plate, salad & ordered our own entrees. They were quick to correct the timing issue & offered us a special tasting of kobe beef appetizer & dessert. I can easily see us going back with friends & ordering several small plates & flatbreads to share. I want to address the reviews complaining about price & portion size. NOTHING on the menu is over $20. The portions are what I expect from a restaurant featuring high quality local food. We were able to sample more things this way. Can't wait to go back and plan on checking them out for brunch as well."

  • "The service was slow, though our server was very nice and apologetic. We were stuffed back in a corner where we felt like we weren't being attended to. The food was very good, but the portions were very small for the price. The restaurant opened recently, so I will give them a break for that. They were kind enough to give us our desserts and coffee free because of the wait."

  • "We had Mother's Day Brunch at this newly changed restaurant. Everything was really yummy! Staff was accommodating and knowledgeable. Started with a tuna, a shrimp, and a gnocchi app. Small portions even for apps. This place is also a BYOB. There is a wine store right down the street. Very convenient! We will definitely be back. "

  • "We received a friendly greeting by the host and were promptly seated upon arrival. My friend and I shared the Crispy Shaved Brussels Sprouts. It was slightly oily, but tasty. Because the restaurant prides itself on using local vendors, I tried the Free Range Amish Chicken Breast. My friend ordered the Jail Island Maine Salmon. Both entrees were eloquently presented, portions reasonably sized and the accompaniments complimented the entrees chosen. Being a BYOB restaurant, we were able to indulge in our favorite wines. Terry, our server, was friendly, informative and attentive to our table and needs. "

  • "I know this restaurant just opened so I am giving it a second chance in the next few months. But I think the prices were a bit expensive. he egg appetizer was $12! For a poached egg, wow. The salt and pepper shrimp had 4 or so lonely shrimps that was mostly batter. I think the flatbread was the only redeeming dish. At least it filled us up more than the other dishes. I would not have minded the price if the dishes were great. But, they were just ok. Let's see how it is in a few months."

  • "This was my first time here e and we were a party of six. I did not realize it was BYOB. No problem. Ordered the tuna tartar and went to the state store 2 blocks away on foot. Forage supplied the wine glasses and the ice and limes for the margaritas. Then the good times rolled. If you go, go early like we did when we arrived as they opened at 5 PM for dinner. Service slowed down as they restaurant filled up but by that time we were content from all the excellent food."

  • "This restaurant, only open 2 weeks, was amazing. We, and our friends, loved the food and the evening. We shared the mushroom and the Tuscan flatbreads, had tuna, scallops and (2) shortribs for entrees - everything was outstanding and the prices were right...we will definitely go back. You must try this restaurant soon! It was formerly Vella..same owner but new chef and entirely new menu/food. Go.there.now!"
