Diner Reviews
  • "They had a fire the night before and were closed for cleanup. They called and let us know they were closed The rating is from a previous visit. It was brunch and we really enjoyed it"

  • "We made a reservation, and were seated right away. The service was kind of slow (we ordered as soon as we could, ate, paid, and left, and were there for about an hour and a half), but they were very busy, so it was understandable, and our server was pleasant and knowledgeable. The brunch food was incredible, and the dollar mimosas were wonderful!! We will definitely return again."

  • "This was an anniversary outing for us and the first time at Food Works. The hostess sat us and asked if the location was "OK". Not knowing any differently, we accepted her choice. I felt like we were dining in the foyer with people coming and going constantly. Before the evening was over, a family with one young child and another in a highchair sat at the adjacent table. We had a really good appetizer but the main course was mediocre. The only redeeming factor of the evening was that we happened to be there on half-price wine night! I would go back, but not for any special occasion."

  • "Great brunch spot. Fantastic mimosa special! Be sure to get there early or plan to wait as there is a line out 30 mins before they open on the weekends!"

  • "If you are in Chattanooga, hop over the river to this fantastic find. The ambience is upscale casual and the food choices were broad. We had our two kids and they had plenty to choose from just as we did. Everything was very good finished off with their skillet brownie and ice cream. A great meal in Chattanooga"

  • "Foodworks is one of our "go to" spots for brunch. We always take out of town guests here, and the sweet potato chips and dip are a must have!"
    Dined on 6/1/2014
  • "The server was very friendly and accomodating. However, I asked her to warn me if I was ordering anything spicy. I particularly asked about the batter on the Calamari and was assured that it was not spicy and that my flounder entre would not be spicy either. Both were covered in Black Pepper. I believe that too many chefs and waiters mindlessly go about their tasks. They are difficult jobs made easier by tuning out the needs of the customers. I will try to be more careful in the future."

  • "Food was OK, delivery was slow and that was before a group of 40 ordered. No issues with the server, she was excellent."

  • "a friend suggested Food Works when she found out we were going to be in the Chattanooga area. My husband, 18 year old son and I went on a Saturday night. All three of us tried different entrees-braised beef short ribs, blackberry chicken and lasagna. All were excellent as was the chocolate mousse cake. Service was excellent. "

  • "we were visiting chattanooga for the day, and the best way to find a good restaurant in a city you are visiting is use open table. the food was good, and the place was in unique part of town. the service was excellent. i am sure this is a local go to place."

  • "Food and service were very good. Just be prepared that the restaurant is a little noisy. Reservations recommended."

  • "My husband and I were entertaining guests from out of town. FoodWorks made a very favorable impression on them. We had a server we have had many times before and have always found him to be excellent. The food was excellent, also as before. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience."

  • "Food Works exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, service was great, and the $1 mimosas were very perfect! This was the perfect way to begin mommies day out. Look forward to visiting again real soon."

  • "We had out of town guests and they requested we eat here after we had taken them here on a previous visit. We had a great time walking around the river and visiting the aquarium then walked over to Food Works for a great dinner. We have never had a bad experience here. "

  • "After my husbands graduation from college I made reservations to FoodWorks. We were there around 1:15pm. First of all I had no idea that they would only be serving brunch until 3pm. Therefore full menu was still not available. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and te ambiance is great! Our waitress was nice but could not keep our glasses full, actually one member of my party had to drink someone else's in out parties water because they were so thirsty. The food.....our steaks where huge, but full of gristle and not cooked to our taste. Medium well was bloody. Out of 10 people in my group, 3 finished their meal and was satisfied. There was so much blue cheese on almost every meal. Our time there was about 3.5 hours over all...."

  • "Our waiter was Madison. He was a great guy. Took very good care of us. We ordered early bird specials. Had way more food than we could eat. The shrimp appetizer was really good, if salty. The salmon with horseradish and bread crumbs was wonderful. Two friends ordered the chopped tenderloin steak and it was marvelous. The chicken piccata was our least favorite, but it was still ok. Just heavily breaded for piccata and not as tender as chicken piccata should be. Do not miss the Chocolate Mousse cake! The bread pudding was dry and had none of the heath bar taste that we were hoping for...but that mousse cake takes the cake! We will be back!"

  • "Trying to get in the building for brunch was a nightmare. There were at least 50 people lined up before the restaurant opened. Most of them did not have reservations. It took 15 minutes to even get through the large crowd to tell the hostess that we had a reservation. They really need to sort through walk-ups and those who have planned ahead."

  • "I was very specific in the reservation asking for a quiet corner table for a romantic setting. I did not get this. In fact, we were set in the very center of the room! Such a small request. Very disappointed that you didn't bother. The restaurant was not crowded and the request could have easily been accommodated. "

  • "We had our wedding anniversary dinner there and it was an exceptional, off the beaten path location. We could not believe that such a nice place had such good food at very nice prices! We will certainly be back! We want to try out the brunch next. We traveled from out of town and found it on Open Table. We were able to update our booking time while sight seeing, walk right in and place our order. We were only able to order one entree because the appetizers were so filling, so we shared. It was truly a special night."

  • "We met for a girls brunch to celebrate two birthdays. Enjoyed specials on Mimosa's and food was awesome. Service was excellent."

  • "My bf recently moved to Chattanooga, and we visited Foodworks on the recommendation from some of his coworkers. We are now completely obsessed with their brunch. The food is amazing and something you can't get anywhere else."

  • "After reading previous reviews, we were excited to try this restaurant. However, we found the food rather bland. Those in our party who had steak were impressed but we found both pasta and chicken mediocre."

  • "Just started see this young lady and in our convo's she told me she had never been to FOOD WORKS!! I had to CHANGE that!!! Had the pleasure of dinning there several times in the past!! She is a little bit of a FOODIE but she never eats much!! Probably why she is so Hot!!! Food was Great!! Service was Excellent!!...and the atmosphere is always SUPER!!! Next time I want to dine upstairs as it is more private and a GREAT TIME can be HAD!! Have never had a BAD time at Food Works!! Thanks for helping make a memory!!"

  • "We ordered an appetizer and was full after that, but we powered through. All the adult plates looked and tasted even better. I don't recommend the child plates though. The kids barely ate, but that is the norm for them. Definitely a place to go for the older crowd"

  • "Menu is tired and needs to be refreshed. No energy in the place. Server not bad, but again, no energy and no enthusiasm. We used to enjoy the place, but it is just going the way of most places that don't refresh and change and keep the energy up."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "The food and service were excellent but the noise level from the bar was so loud in the downstairs seating that we could not hear one another across the table. I would recommend sitting upstairs far away from the bar."

  • "We enjoyed Food Works very much! Located in a historic factory, the building is as interesting as the menu! We enjoyed the "Breads and Spreads" which is a delicious assortment of Hummus, olive relish and muhammara served with pita and French bread. Then I had the blackened sea scallops which were perfectly cooked, on a bed of crawfish risotto. My husband enjoyed the Blackberry Chicken served with fantastic homemade ricotta gnocchi! We loved our meal!!"
