We had a great meal at Foodworks. We requested a gluten-free menu - despite being out of the menus the provided a run-down of the options. We had a great meal with a very attentive server. She was able to give direct and helpful advice for picking out our dishes. Despite the three floor trek up to our table she was very helpful. The food was very nice, perhaps not as nice as some other places we had been that weekend - but it's hard to compare high volume brunch food to higher end cuisine. The dollar mimosas at brunch were a welcome surprise as well. All told this was a great end to our Chattanooga trip, and I'd love to go back for another meal to try more of the menu

The food was extremely good; and well prepared. The service was excellent; and the employees very friendly. The only issue was that we had to park across the street; and it was pretty cold outside, therefore, the walk was not that pleasant. Therefore, a few more parking spaces closer to the restaurant would be well worth it.

Since I reserved our table for 12 on line I didn't realize they had steep stairs to their upper level. One of our party can't do stairs and then two couples couldn't make it so we were a party of 8 and they easily and quickly changed out table to downstairs. The food was amazing and each one of us was more than satisfied with the tenderloin, crab stuffed flounder, shrimp and grits (awesome) and lasagna. We order the calamari which also contained rounds of banana peppers fried and blended in that just gave it the right amount of punch! Our waiter was great, just the right amount of attentiveness and professionalism. We were able to spit the salads and desserts and may have be able to split entrees but no one asked. We will be back!!!

My wife and I made reservations for brunch and were seated almost immediately. We sat upstairs in the really cool old knitting mill building. Lots of character. Servers seemed pleasant and food was terrific. I had crab cake Benedict and my wife had a great French toast. I don't generally like sweet breakfast foods, but I have to say my bite of the French toast was great! Crab cake Benedict was also fantastic! Hearty and more filling than you'd think. Also plenty of crab in the crab cake. $1 dollar champaign or mimosas was also a plus. Will definitely be back. Maybe for dinner next time.

I ordered the marinated pork chop on a corn meal waffle with black eyed peas and ham, topped with a green tomato chow chow. With it I also ordered a side of Yucon Gold mashed potatoes. Everything was only luke warm when received and continued to get colder as time went on. The corn meal waffle was yuckie to say the least. Not crisp at all and rather mealy. The young lady serving my wife and I had the personality of a fish I'm sorry to say. Absolutely no inflection when asking her questions; just kind of like she had no idea what she was serving and really didn't care to be there that night.

We recently visited Chattanooga for a half-marathon. Since we had a group, we were looking for a restaurant that took reservations and had a wide variety on the menu. We had the Bruschetta, Sweet Potato Chips, and Jalapeno Queso for an appetizer. The burgers, scallops, lasagna, and chicken picatta were well like by our group.

This is the 3rd time we have been to Foodworks. Service was very slow, we had to ask for more water & bread because our server ignored us. We had 6 people dining. My son's burger was not cooked as requested. Biggest complaint is that 3 of us received our food then 10 minutes later the rest of us received our food. The last 3 plates that came were cold but we ate anyway because we didn't want any more delays. It pretty much ruined our birthday celebration. We will not return to Foodworks. It is a shame because the food is good, but service is terrible.

Housed in an old factory or mill building, this eatery has exposed brick walls, neat old hardwood floors, and large volume in a two story space. Sunday Brunch starts with a $1 Mimosa, or a $3.50 Bloody Mary. Large selection of appetizers and entrees, we tried the chicken and waffles, which were good, and a Cobb salad. Dessert was the creamiest and richist Creme Brulee I ever tasted..Yum. Service was friendly, attentive, and quick...prices and value OK

We made a reservation on Open Table but ended up running late. Despite a long wait at the restaurant, they held the table for us! I'd highly recommend the Darling Donut sandwich - a glazed doughnut with bacon, egg and cheese. And the mimosas are only $1 with a meal - awesome! Will definitely come back for brunch.

I was traveling and stayed a couple of days in Chattanooga and was looking for a place other than downtown. Read the reviews and it looked good. My dish, though not bad, was not quiet what I expected. I had the flouder filets stuffed with lump crab. The crab was spicier than I would have liked. I would have prefered less seasoning than it contained. It was okay. Might be worth a second try if I am ever in town again. No issues with the service. Was later on a Sunday evening, so relatively quiet.

We come here regularly for brunch, and enjoy it very much. The breakfast burrito was better than usual this week--very spicy and yummy--and the french toast was quite tasty too. We like to sit in the bar where the service is quite brisk, but we rarely have problems with any of the servers--they're all attentive and helpful. The dollar mimosas always make up for any problems. We would love for the country benedict to reappear on the menu, as well as the huevos rancheros.

Had an entree sized house salad with chicken added. Portion size generous, but wasn't impressed with the quality of the greens. Specifically too many stems. Chicken moist but salty. We also tried a filet...was ok for the price. Tasty but not too juicy or tender. Sides were good. Prices very reasonable; couldn't complain.

We ate here 2 years ago and the food was absolutely phenomenal! I had scallops and my husband had a steak! Went back this time and had the scallops again, but they were prepared differently (on top of an okra n ham risotto). The scallops were delicious, cooked perfect, but the risotto was not appetizing to say the least. My husband got shrimp n grits which was more like a shrimp gumbo I guess u could say as the shrimp were swimming in liquid. Not very tasty. My Father had the pork which was served raw and had to be sent back to the kitchen. It was perfect onced re-fired. Due to this visit we would not go back again nor recommend this restaurant anymore. Very disappointing :(

I was here Friday during early bird seating with six other ladies. We meet monthly as a book club and loved this place! We were not aware of the early bird menu when we reserved our table... a wonderful surprise:)! We had a 3-course meal that fit within our budgets. The choices were many (allowing us to taste from one another's plates... yummy:))! We typically try to pick a different place each month, but agreed that we'd be back here again... soon! Then my husband and I were back here on Sunday during brunch to celebrate my birthday... again yummy food! The service wasn't the best but I was just excited for the opportunity to enjoy great food with my honey:)!

This was an anniversary outing for us and the first time at Food Works. The hostess sat us and asked if the location was "OK". Not knowing any differently, we accepted her choice. I felt like we were dining in the foyer with people coming and going constantly. Before the evening was over, a family with one young child and another in a highchair sat at the adjacent table. We had a really good appetizer but the main course was mediocre. The only redeeming factor of the evening was that we happened to be there on half-price wine night! I would go back, but not for any special occasion.

The server was very friendly and accomodating. However, I asked her to warn me if I was ordering anything spicy. I particularly asked about the batter on the Calamari and was assured that it was not spicy and that my flounder entre would not be spicy either. Both were covered in Black Pepper. I believe that too many chefs and waiters mindlessly go about their tasks. They are difficult jobs made easier by tuning out the needs of the customers. I will try to be more careful in the future.
