Food Wine and Co.Business lunch favoriteReliably good, interesting food, quiet enough for conversation, well-located. Though restaurant was not crowded, service was frustratingly slow this time5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMReally lovely thoughtful foodHad an amazing dinner at Food Wine and Comp. Michael Harr and crew have such a straight forward, thoughtful, playful approach to food. Combinations just make sense. Flavors sing. Just a delight !!!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently GreatWe have now been to Food, Wine & Co five times. Everytime the food has been off the charts. It is clear that great care is taken throughout the planning, preparation and delivery of what has become our most consitent dining experience. The fact that it is "consistently great" is icing on the cake. Keep it up!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFine food, friendly serviceThis was my third time at Food and Wine and Co. Each visit has been a pleasure. It is on my short list of favorites. The service is friendly and helpful, The menu is invariably interesting and well prepared. It tends toward sea food, with oysters and mussels as well as fish, but the pork was excellent and my son, a picky eater, was well satisfied with a plain burger (not on the printed menu). You can do well with the wine list; a broad range of microbrew beers is available on tap and in bottles. I can guarantee that you will see at least one that is unfamiliar.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMComfortable atmosphere/great foodWe were so comfortable at the bar, that we cancelled the reservation and ate there. Decent oyster, excellent pizza and a respectable cheese plate complemented the solid cocktails and wide selection of beers.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMet all our expectationsThis is our second time here, and it was another great experience, both regarding food and service.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner with the wifeGreat night. The Chocolate Bread Pudding is worth going off your diet!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AM21st BirthdayThe Gourmet burger & Marin. onions (w/ french fries) was the best burger I've ever had. Homemade chips were great with some of the other side dishes, but would have liked to have seen an additional small side dish - beans, cole slaw?? The Halibut was great, but felt the $26 price was too much. I think $22 is more reasonable for the quantity of fish and veggies that you got. If you kept at $26 at least add more veggies or a salad. The Metro drink was excellent, but again the $12 price tag seemed high for the area. I typically pay $8- $9 for a good quality mixed drink. Bonefish has a few standard drinks that are always on the menu for $5 each and they are great because I can afford 2 drinks!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat except its pedestrian name! This is a gem in Bethesda in that it has the rare combination of great food, service and ambience. Their wines are great but way over priced. $13 for a glass of La Crema when a bottle costs $18!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood restaurant with hostess probleI have eaten here many times and highly recommended it to others. One continuing gripe is seating. You can make a special request at the time of reservation, and it is unlikely to be honored. You show up, and that is when you discover something else has trumped your request. Then you will find that some diner's seating preferences will be honored over yours. There is pressure to get people to sit at the bar, even when you say you want the quieter section. I was there to conduct some business with a guest, yet I had a bit of a struggle to get a table away from noise, and this is not the first time.
They need to look at how they conduct reservations if they want to keep the business clientele.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and AtmosphereHave had a few wonderful business lunches and dinners here. Food is consistently good and so is the service. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend it!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood Wine & Craft Beer ...should be the name of the restaurant, as they have a great craft beer list, both on tap and bottles/cans. Every course was delicious (the beet salad, mushroom flatbread, and chocolate bread pudding -- all very yummy!) We are beer geeks, so would have gone sooner if we had known about the beer. Look forward to a return visit.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCame for food stayed for the beer! This place has everything, great food, stellar service, and a spectacular wine list with beyond reasonable prices, but the real find here is their EXTENSIVE craft beer selection, it has to be the largest in Montgomery County! I'm a beer geek and finding a Mecca like this will surly keep me coming back. Our server must have told the GM, Francisco, that we were beer geeks because he stopped by and not only brought us something unique, a smoke IPA to taste, but told us about what would pair well with each of our entrees, and he was absolutely right! Thanks for a great night out! We will be back sooner than later.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place. We really love this restaurant. Such an improvement over Unos. Great food, atmosphere, and service. This is our new go-to restaurant in Bethesda.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner was great and serviceDinner was great and service was outstanding...Will def come back.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThoughtfully crafted foodChef Michael Harr is extremely talented. Food was thoughtfully crafted. Great balance, fabulous flavors, lovely cooking. Hit all the right notes !!! Still thinking about the mussels with chorizo, head on shrimp, squid and soft polenta. And the warm bread pudding --- worth the trip !!!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI got a group together forI got a group together for a little surprise party for my fiance's birthday. The wine list was extensive. The desserts were amazing. The server was ok. He didn't come back and check on us, and we had to go in search of someone to give us our check. But other than that, we had a lovely time.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Service but noisyThis was our second visit and was enjoyable, although the Friday night ambiance was a little frenetic. Had to wait a while for a table despite a reservation but the hostess and team were very nice and it wasn't a big deal. Once seated we received outstanding service despite the place being very busy, and all 4 of us enjoyed a great dinner. My main course, a halibut special, was top notch.
The noise level on a Friday night was very high (we were there on a quiet Tuesday before) but other than that the experience was very good. We will be back.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable evening/mealHad a very tasty meal, all presented very nicely. Enjoyed a delicious wine I'd never had before...if only I'd written down the name! Our server was very sweet and, after making an error re: dessert, gave it to us on the house (plus a little sorbet for our trouble). Appreciated that.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat an amazing restaurant!!Cannot say enough about this place. I came in for a quick drink and ended up staying for a few hours. The food is great, and the beer and wine selections are to die for. Francisco and Mike are certainly doing things right. I cant wait to come back and see what else this restaurant has in store.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu is seasonal and has limitedMenu is seasonal and has limited choices for meat lovers but otherwise nice selection. Excellent beer and wine selection4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy daughter and I had dinnerMy daughter and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. The service
was excellent, but not hovering. There is an excellent wine list, flights are available and the selections by the glass are very good. Notable lack of Pinot Grigio by bottle. Please change Nicoise Salad to include hard boiled eggs. Poached turned my stomach. Salmon burger was delish. Restaurant should note the heat factor on this item. Dessert menu
very enticing, but we held our ground.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSabastian was our waiter andSabastian was our waiter and made the experience exceptional. Food was very good and creative. Fun time.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood with an imaginative twist,Food with an imaginative twist, attentive service, a quiet back room for business lunches, and all in the neighborhood.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love Food, Wine & Co.We love Food, Wine & Co. My pork loin was a little overdone this time, but the rest of the food was great and the Dark Chocolate Bread Pudding was to die for.
Great wine!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTHis was my second visit.THis was my second visit. The service was excellent from teh hostess stand to our waiter. The food was really good. Also, i greatly appreciated that the waiter explained that a menu choice my 10 year old made might not work out how we thought. he worked out a better choice for my son. Good communication helped to keep everyone happy. Our meals were really good.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and Wine Co. has a greatFood and Wine Co. has a great beer selection and comfortable atmosphere, although it can be very noisy when the place is full. The food is highly palatable and not super expensive. The service is excellent.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSo good, we went 2 nights in a row!We enjoyed the menu so much, that we went 2 nights in a row, as there were items on the menu we still wanted to try. For burgers, it was delicious with the right touch of truffle oil and seasoning. The soups were fabulous, flavorful, and artistically presented. The wines by the glass were lovely, both red and white. The salad niciose, was non-traditional, with sashima grade lightly grilled tuna. I will definitely go back to try the mussels and other offering my next time in Bethesda.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second dinningThis was my second dinning experience at this resturant. One time for lunch and one for dinner. I found the food and staff exceptional. The waiter was knowledgeable and not pushy. We had a 2 year old with us and she was easily accommodated with mac and cheese. Entrees were presented perfectly and we wanted for nothing. I introduced some locals to the resturant who will now return again!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter a happy lunch at FoodAfter a happy lunch at Food Wine and Co. with a friend, I brought my college son and husband back on a Friday night. The carrot-ginger soup, beet salad, the specialty burgers, and the rosemary chips are excellent. So was the strawberrry sundae dessert. We very much appreciated the relatively moderate price range for meals that were creatively prepared and tasty on every level. Noise level was energetic but we could easily hold a conversation, and service was attentive.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the driveWe thoroughly enjoyed our meals: From the risotto appetizer to the dark chocolate bread pudding! It was all delicious. If I had a suggestion, I'd like special requests to be recognized when seated. We asked for a booth due to a medical condition and was granted one after a little haggling. Otherwise, it was wonderful and we'll be back....from Fairfax!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHad dinner with a few friends,Had dinner with a few friends, and we all really enjoyed the place - the food and the service were fantastic!
Started with Salmon Tartar, Trio of oysters, and fried potato balls. The Trio of oysters was great - they had prepared 3 sauces for the oysters - very unique & fresh.
For our entrees, the steak was perfect, the curry mussels was amazing, and the rockfish was perfect. Though each dish could have served 1.5 meals, we all polished our plates.
Beware of the desserts as they are also large & delicious - Chocolate lava cake, chocolate bread pudding, and key lime pie.
Oh yeah, the beer and wine were pretty good, too.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood continues to be excellent,Food continues to be excellent, and the service was outstanding.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA Definite Go to Kinda PlaceExcellent food with a very interesting, want to come back and try other things menu.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time find!Wow! Ordered the Happy Specials of Red Currey Mussells and Raw Oysters. Both were fantastic. They also had great house wines (both red and white). I would definitely go back again. Bartendar was not energetic considering the environment. Had to gain his attention to place my first order and his energy was just what I would expect for such a vibrant place! Will give him the benefit that he was just tired.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe sous chef, Brant Cotter,The sous chef, Brant Cotter, has come up with some delicious and innovative creations!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were especially good and reasonably priced at lunch, with the $19 2-course special. The scallops in the seafood entree could have been cooked a little less. Dessert was fabulous!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!Coconut curry muscles are an absolute must at this vibrant and very accommodating restaurant. They have an amazing beer/wine list and fantastic cocktails. Loved our waiter who accommodated our 7month old baby who came along for dinner. Very good experience!!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMReally appreciated a callReally appreciated a call day before reservation to confirm. Food and service were great!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood solid spot...interestingGood solid spot...interesting enough menu...everything ordered by a group of four was quite good. Convenient garage parking....parking validated so it cost $5 to park. Dined at "Range" a few nights earlier. Food Wine and Co. provided a far better overall dining experience in all categories than the much-hyped "Range" in Chevy Chase.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great experienceI have been coming to FW&Co since its opening days. The quality of both food and service, has never failed to disappoint. The menu has something for everyone, and at the same time the dinner features are unique and show the forward thinking vision of the restaurant. Don't miss the pork tenderloin! The managers, Francisco, Danny, and Mike have always been there to help suggest wine pairings and ensure a smooth meal from start to finish. This is my go to spot in Bethesda!3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and good energyThere was a private party using the entire main dining room so I dined in the back, usually the private dining room. I really enjoyed that space - it's warmer than the front and being seated next to the huge racks of wine was fun. I told the manager that he should consider offering this as an option. He gave me his card and said to call ahead next time and he would see if he could seat me there. The iceberg lettuce wedge has been modified, so instead of a vertical hunk of iceberg lettuce, it's a horizontal slab. Visually more interesting and still very tasty. My friend and I shared the Gruyere mac 'n cheese which is probably the best man 'n cheese I've ever had (have to try and replicate it at home). Our server was very attentive.12/20/2012 12:00:00 AMOne of my mainstays in BethesdaMy requirements for "regular" dining out experiences are a convenient location, relatively easy and nearby public parking, good service and good food. Food Wine and Co. satisfies in every way. I arrived about an hour early (never know about drive times) so I sat at the bar and enjoyed one of the discounted happy hour cocktails. The bartender was friendly and fast. My dinner date enjoyed the burger (huge and looked delicious) while I had the calamari. Our server was attentive, friendly and the busser kept my water glass refilled (a pet peeve and often overlooked). Clearly a very popular spot in downtown Bethesda and it's not surprising why that's so.11/19/2012 12:00:00 AMWe went for lunch and everyWe went for lunch and every food item was delicious. They seem to perform magic with a mandolin and a deep fryer, from the fried onions on top of my portabello burger to the homemade rosemary potato chips to the fried artichoke my friend ordered as an appetizer. The potato chips were fantastic.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
