We use to go to Fontana's a lot but haven't been recently. Decided to try it again and it was horrible. The menu has less items but looks like a chain restaurant menu. ome of the great dishes are gone but the ones that are left are not good. I had the seared scallops with cappalini. The dish was too salty and the plate had too much sauce making the dish more salty. You use to get at least 6-8 scallops and a good helping of cappalini but now you get 4 scallops and maybe a 1/4 cups worth of cooked cappalini. And the dish was $34. The veal scallopini was the same. Salty and small in quantity. I'm sorry to say that I would not go back.

Our granddaughter liked her Fettuccine Alfredo; she said it was very good. I was disappointed in my crab sandwich. My husband had a chicken salad -- the greens were great, but the chicken was rather tasteless. Dinner is always good, so I was disappointed.

It's nice to have a local spot with good food and service for lunch and dinner both. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his shrimp with crab polenta on a recent Friday night. Lucky me - I got a bite of polenta. So yummy I could have eaten a plate of it. We split the mushroom ravioli to start, & it was delicious. I was disappointed however in my roasted half chicken which used to be one of my favorite dishes. The presentation has changed so that it now has a salsa verde and sautéed shallots covering it. I much prefer my chicken unadorned and crispy skinned. Don't think I'll order it again, but there are plenty of other choices. The service was great as well. I always enjoy Fontana's.

First signs of trouble when reviewing the menu which is wrapped in plastic ! There is not too much choice and authentic Italian dishes available.. more so American style meat and potatoes kind of dishes.. they were out of some of the selections on a week night. Pretty Pricey as well for available selection.

My husband's family has been going to Fontana's for years. It is a go-to place for them for a celebration dinner or when the family just needs a night of good food. I have to say that it consistently provides delicious, satisfying food and we are never disappointed. It does get a little busy during peak weekend hours and service can get a little slow, but the staff is friendly and accommodating.

The restaurant was very accommodating to kids; we brought a 3 year old and 6 month old. The noise level is not loud, but enough to drown out most kid noises. We were able to get reservations for 6 adults 2 kids at 6pm, 2 days in advance. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the quality of the food itself, especially at the price it's charged at. We feel that it has degraded since the last time we ate here years ago. My mother's steak was unappealing. My wife's seafood pasta with lobster only had a few bit pieces. My sausage and mushroom pasta was decent. The calamari appetizer was without taste and did not smell fresh. The best dish was probably the heirloom tomato and mazarella salad special. Summary: convenient, fair to low food

one of my longstanding favorites over the last 25 years. Deteriorated the last couple of years. I like spicy but using too much pepper for most palates. Appetizers tasteless the night we were there. Desperately need a veal dish again. And bring back the mushroom and spinach sides. A few changes key changes will bring back the food the outstanding level again

I have always loved Fontana's for the food, the ambiance, and the service. Noise has always been a problem for me, both at lunch and dinner, so we go early whenever we can. When the restaurant is moderately quiet, the food tastes better, the ambiance looks even lovelier, but the service will always remain as good as you could find anywhere.

Often sit outside in the nice garden-like setting; the fountain masks any street noise. Great service - attentive but not overbearing - with good suggestions and never any attempt to rush you. Many good dishes, nice wine selection that is affordable by the glass. Pasta dishes are uniformly delightful, salmon was superb (and wild the time I tried it), deserts are all a perfect ending.

We have gone to Fontana's for years. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere is nice. I do think the food is overpriced. The quality has not changed much in the past decade, but the entre pricing and corkage fees have doubled. We would go here much more often if the price were more competitive.

The restaurant, food, and service was great. However, I did send the restaurant a note via my Open Table reservation, "Wife's Birthday dinner". To keep it a surprise, I didn't say anything to the hostess upon arrival, thinking she had already read my Open Table note. Nothing happened at the end of our celebration meal which was just fine. My wife and I had a very enjoyable birthday celebration without the assistance of the staff. But just about that time, the table directly next to us received a candle in a cup cake very tastefully delivered by the restaurant staff. Guess who all-of-the-sudden looked like a schmuck!

Our son and daughter-in-law raved about the breads, and we really enjoyed them, too. Thanks for a great dining experience, the finale to a week of celebrating our 50th anniversary, so this meal had to really be outstanding to wow our jaded appetites after a week of parties, dining and experiencing good venues with friends and family.
