  • "We come to The Abby Grill on a somewhat regular basis and really enjoy it. We always walk around outside and feel like we are on a nice vacation even though we live locally. I truly did miss the piano player as he really is an icon of the Grill. Cant wait to see him when the remodeling is done."

  • "The Abbey is a large resort. We had made reservations in the Fontana Grill for Sunday brunch. Lack of signage and poor directions from the hotel front desk sent us to the wrong brunch location which was really a buffet for the masses - a free for all setup at the end of the building with food trays in the hallway. There was no omelet station - and when we asked we were told we were at the wrong location ... more stairs .. up these stairs, down those stairs and up a long flight of stairs we'll find the right location was relocated to a hidden area. Dumb. Food was good but average. Service excellent. Two with modest tip $70 for really breakfast with desert. Maybe they charge so much because they're saving up for signage so you can find it."

  • "The food was very good but as normal with buffets, not great as compared to that ordered from the menu of a top restaurant. One can order off the menu as well but we did not, so cannot judge how that would have been. One of the best treats was the excellent ambience provided by the piano player, who could play just about any music from Bach to Fats Domino to Johnny Cash, all from memory. He was excellent, played several songs we requested, and it provided a very nice background to the dinner without being too loud."

  • "Had dinner at Fontana Grill on Saturday. We had a reservation but the restaurant wasn't that crowded. Our server was fabulous. Very accommodating and friendly. And when we had a problem, the only problem was with the lobster bisque, it wasn't not good at all sort of brown in color and not creamy with two small bites of lobster, she took it away and took it off our bill. Otherwise I had the mahi which was very good and my friend had the prime rib and crab leg buffet which she enjoyed."

  • "We chose to go for breakfast and decided to do the buffet. Great choices and variety of options such as eggs, bacon, waffles, biscuits, cereal, muffins, etc. The options on the menu were good, but nothing stood out for our liking that morning so we chose the buffet. Making reservations were easy although we could have walked in and got seating."

  • "Our only complaint is that we sat and waited for about 10-15 min without a server. We went to the hostess and then had a server immediately whom was very nice and did a great job. She also comped our drinks, which was very nice. We had the prime rib and crab leg buffett that was great. There was a piano player that added a nice touch."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner Sunday evening. The room overlooks a frozen Lake Geneva with ice skaters in the converted marina and ice fishermen off in the distance. The setting sun splashed grand colors across the frozen lake and hillsides. Inside the grand fireplace was warm and cozy. We ordered NY Strips stakes and they were nicely seasons and cooked perfectly to order. The staff was attentive, friendly and very responsive."

  • "we both had steak; ribeye for him and and filet for me - rare. both were excellent! the crab bisque was one of the best i ever had; great flavor, not overly reliant on the cream/butter. the veggies were cooked just right and a nice combination of varieties. the drinks were generously poured. no room for dessert."

  • "Absolutely love this restaurant at the Abbey. We have dined here for many years and have always enjoyed it. Great food - nice buffet, although I prefer to order off the menu at dinner time, so many choices, but all great. Very nice friendly staff, always make you feel like your visiting family. Always a pleasant experience, whether your having a romantic dinner or dining with family - there's something for everyone!"

  • "We had a very strange evening. There clearly was a problem with being under staffed that night. We waited forever for pretty much everything. Our server put our appetizer down without realizing we had no utensils. Ten minutes later, we got some forks. Our server proceeded to unload on us how frustrated she was about another server not doing her job, how management wasn't helping etc. It was very awkward and not the experience we had anticipated at this establishment. She was nice otherwise, but how unprofessional to rant to customers like that. Plenty of time to stand and rant while her other tables hadn't ordered, were waiting for drinks, didn't have water for 15 minutes. The place had a very off night."
