I was a little disappointed to find that there 16 meets had been condensed down to 10. I thought the portion of fried bananas and mashed potatoes were small and the potatoes were cold. The meat, however, was spot on but certain meats didn't make the rotation the same as the sirloins they seemed to limit the amount of times that they came to the table with the lamb and the sausage and the parmegan and ribs. It seemed they were primarily pushing the sirloin. We had to ask for the lamb several times and I believe they only came once. For the money, which is rather pricey, they could have done a little better with the service. With this being the first time for my boyfriend, it was his birthday, he seemed pleased. Lynnette

Went for dinner to Fogo for my boyfriend's birthday. I called ahead to notify the restaurant that this reservation was for a birthday. The message apparently didn't get passed on & the waiter just delivered the check. Once I let waiters know my disappointment, it still took 25 minutes to get dessert delivered. This experience was disappointing & stressful for me...

A group of us went to dinner after the Navy and Air Force half marathon. The selection of salads was great and included European meats and cheese plates. All of the grilled meats on offer were tasty and prepared to suit any taste (well done, medium rare, etc). Our water and ice tea were never too low and the server regularly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, a great night out with friends.

We had a reservation for two at 7:30 p.m. and had to wait for 25 minutes. They have a small bar, very stark looking, but it was packed with others waiting to dine. The Brazilian cocktail was good, but over-priced. Wine was OK. We found that service was very poor, hardly saw the waiter and drinks took a long time to arrive. Too few waiters for the hundreds of diners. We would not choose to go back.

The dinner was pretty much ruined in the first 5 minutes when the hostess was extremely rude. We had a reservation at 7 pm and upon our arrival the table was not ready. I understand restaurant turnover and you may have a wait for the table to be cleared even if you have a reservation but we did not even get seated until 7:45 which is unacceptable. The hostess did not seem to care and made no effort to accommodate us. I had to go out of my way to track down a manager and upon talking the manager surprisingly enough we got seated immediately. From that point on it was okay. They did compensate us with a round of free drinks which was super nice. A friendly experience from the beginning would have been ideal to start the night out well.

Meat was excellent but they were out of scalloped potatoes for about 30 minutes, which was a problem. Was a pretty loud restaurant and a little too crowded with tables and servers to make it to the salad bar. But overall a good place to go if red meat is your thing.

Been here before 4 years ago and loved it. This time the service was bad, waited a long time with green marker out before food would come. None of the good cuts came by. Chicken and sausages kept showing up. Had to ask for steak cuts. Coffee took so long we canx it. Room too cold, tried to impress my wife, not so much. For the money, I'd rather went to outback steakhouse in calif. Never again.. very sad.

The few times that you are hungry enough AND can afford this menu make it special. We go probably every two years with out- of-towners who have never been, and they're always mezmerized. However, it's the same meat on a skewer and as much as you can possibly fit in your mouth. Green vs red.....

Fogo is a bit of a staple. It's always the same. The meats are OK, the salad bar is OK, the service is OK. It's just OK, but it's predictable and good for groups. The only new thing this time was being pushed to order dessert before I was done with dinner, that was a weird experience. I'll probably go back when I have friends that want to eat until they hate themselves, when that time times I'll expect (and probably get) the same experience as every other time. Their consistency and inability to innovate is quite interesting in its own way.

Dined here as a farewell to DC dining. I've never actually been here because most of my friends shy away from all-you-can-eat restaurants as they are usually overly priced for the amount of food you're consuming. I'd have to say that this is the case for Fogo De Chao- you're not necessarily getting your moneys worth, but I doubt anybody could consume their $75 worth of meat in one sitting. You definitely need to include service and ambiance as one of your contributing factors once you're done eating and evaluating your meal.. That being said, I walked a solid 7 miles back to Rosslyn after my meal. The walk was very pleasant and I got to pass by all most of the monuments :P

I surprised my husband by taking him here for his birthday. He is a big fan of Brazillian steakhouses, and we were not disappointed. While the price was on the steeper end for us, we thought all the food was delicious and they had a nice variety. The salad bar had a fun selection too. The one thing we were sad they didn't offer was the grilled pineapple. Other restaurants have offered that in the past, and it is our favorite! But it was good eating none-the-less, and they brought us a free slice of cake with "happy birthday" written on it. Nice touch!

Fogo was quite the dining experience! As a Brazillian steak house it offered well seasoned meats galore! The tag that symbolized to the servers whether you wanted them to stop at your table stayed on green at our table. Even as we were satisfied, we had to try more. The salad bar was one of the best and the mashed potatoes were cloud like fluffy and delicious! Will I return? Green means GO!

Fogo de Chao was just an overall great time. I couldn't get in during Restaurant Week, no surprise there, booked up pretty fast, so we went regular price. Expensive but not bad for all the food they provide! Deliciously marinated meats everywhere! Salad bar wasn't too great but hey, you don't come here for veggies! Staff were very attentive. Good thing about this place is when you flip your card to "red," they don't bother you! Which is great because now you have a huge plate of all the meat you could ever want, and private time for long conversations. Only problem now is who can I convince to come with me again.....

My wife and I were in DC for a 5 day visit, traveling with our 8 year old granddaughter. We made a reservation hoping it would be a great experience for all of us. It was! A unique dining experience with lots of food choices at the salad bar as well as at the table, from the frequent servers who brought different meats. We enjoyed it. As kid friendly as I hoped that it would be. My only issues were the chaotic environment in getting the salad bar food and the noise level. This is definitely a great place for larger groups, family celebrations, etc. A fun place with interesting food and atmosphere. We would go there again.

My wife and me dined here for her birthday. We arrived just before 6pm to avoid a crowd- by 7 they were starting to get busy. The food was outstanding and the service was great. Beware that ordering a soda or juice is by the bottle so the expense ads up if you're not paying attention. The valet is very convenient and the staffers are polite. Overall it is a great experience that's well worth the effort!

As always the food was very good and there is as much or as little as you want. It's the service that needs work. It's starting to resemble that of a cheap, rapid turn over place. The server who explained how Fogo works and took our drink orders was brusque, interrupted our conversation and seemed annoyed to be there. Others did not serve or remove plates from the proper side, reached across the table to set dishes down (there was plenty of room to maneuver around the table), and plopped utensils down. The service used to be of higher quality. For the price and the tone the restaurant is trying to set, I expect much better.

I've frequented Fogo in the past, and I went last Sunday to take advantage of the restaurant week. Despite our timely arrival, we had to wait a bit to be seated. We were seated in a corner, and we definitely were secluded from the main dining area. Probably due to this reason, the servers did not frequent our table often, to the point of having to ask for servers to come since my plate was empty. It was certainly a drastic contrast to when I had paid full menu price. Shouldn't they be more welcoming to patrons who are trying out Fogo to see if they want to return? I would return for the food, but if I had not before, I'm not sure if I would.

My once-a-year treat during DC Restaurant Week, when (2014) dinner prices are $35, as opposed to the full price $50-something per person. Instead of 17 meats, they serve 10, but it's still an amazing experience. I've had both full reg price menu and Restaurant Week menu and honestly, you're not missing out on much by choosing the cheaper option. Salad bar is delicious and always a temptation, as are the cheesy bread biscuits; don't get fully seduced by them and miss out on the meats...conserve your stomach room for the best!

We came to the restaurant during restaurant week but discovered that the restaurant week menu did not include most of the tasty cuts of meat. We instead opted for the full menu. It would have been beneficial for the restaurant to advertise beforehand that the RW menu was going to be so short. Regardless, the food was great.

I visited during DC's Restaurant Week. I have been to Fogo before, but this is the first time that the cuts of meat have been fatty. My friends and I were surprised at the amount of fat we had to cut off. This has never happened before. I understand reducing the selection for the Restaurant Week price. I don't understand reducing the selection AND the quality. The meat tasted good, but the cuts weren't as lean. I can't give them a 5 star rating as a result. I love Fogo and I recommend it highly - just not during Restaurant Week.

This was our first time to a Brazilian steakhouse, and it definitely didn't disappoint with the amount and variety of different meats. It was an endless barrage of beef, pork, and chicken, and nobody was complaining. With that being said, while it was fun and unique, I don't think my wife and I will be back. Maybe it's that we aren't the biggest red meat fans, or maybe the buffet like nature of the restaurant, but there are certainly many other places in DC that we will go to instead.

Fogo's main competition in the DC area is Chima, out in Tysons Corner. Fogo's meat is better prepared and I preferred Fogo, but my family preferred Chima because it has a nicer salad bar and a better atmosphere. Both are great choices if you want to pig out on meat. Neither is a good choice for vegans or vegetarians.
