  • "Third time we have been here with two separate sets of friends. Every time we have loved the food and the service. Friendly, helpful atmosphere from the entire staff. We beat the crowd by a few minutes, but even with everyone carrying on their own conversations, tables were situated so it was easy to carry on a conversation with friends without having to raise your voice. Overall a great experience."

  • "The first thought was why aren't there any prices on the menus. We figured out why. The charge is $50 per adult and $26 for children. Our children barely ate enough to cover a charge this high and the charge of $50 per adult seemed a bit steep. Even though it is "free refills" a person can only eat so much. The food was good but when we got in it took a while before we got our drinks and when we were ordering our meats the wait staff did not come around as often as we would have liked. It took five guys to come around before we ever got the filet mignon that we had asked for. I like the concept of this restaurant but when we were all done with dinner the bill for a family of six of over $400.00 was a bit too much for what we got. "

  • "I took my parents here while they were visiting DC, and my Dad was blown away for the following reasons: 1) The quality of the meat (every one of the 8-10 cuts he tried) just blew him away! His favorites were the pork ribs and filet and a few others. 2) The server was incredibly friendly & had amazing service. The server kept replacing his coffee within a second of him finishing it -- and my Dad thought it was amazing! 3) Our server took us on a tour of the grill in the back & explained the cooking process. 4) The salad bar (and the crispy bacon) was just amazing. Overall, my dad says this is now his favorite restaurant he's ever been to!"

  • "A group of friends and I got together on Saturday evening following a day viewing the Cherry Blossoms...we were looking for a place with great energy and even better food for our meat and potatoes crowd. This is the place...you can eat until your hearts content and for those that tend toward lighter fare they have an awesome salad bar and soup station. Recommend you book a reservation as this place can get quite crowded very quickly....and even with the reservation we had to wait about 20 minutes until the table was ready. The food was simply fabulous and if you don't see what you want just ask and one of the cowboys will materialize with it. Looking forward to returning again in the future."

  • "Amazing! One person in our group had never had the Fogo de Chao way, which always make the event more fun and entertaining because the gauchos pay more attention. What made this experience 'outstanding' is the appropriate attention to timing - head server and gauchos - had noticed our group slowing down and asked for 'special requests'. The 'special request' arrived shortly. Other unique occurrence was a gaucho noted one person who had rare grilled meat and asked the next round if rare choice was still wanted. Dessert and post meal drink topped off a phenomenal meal and experience. Also hostess allowed us to seat prior to our reservation time."

  • "This is the place to dine if you crave protein! The servers walking around and offering different meats was the highlight of this dining experience. We initially were seated at a table that was not very comfortable because we had to sit far apart from each other. But when we asked to be moved, we were accommodated with genuineness. The wine selection was great and paired well with the meats."

  • "Forgo is my go to place for a dinner celebration with meat lovers (wide choice, excellent quality) - but their salad bar is my heavenly destination when I go. I heap my plate with perfectly steamed asparagus, fresh mozzarella, smoked salmon, etc while I watch my guests enjoying the parade of filet mignonette, top sirloin, lamb chops, ribs, chicken, etc - everyone is happy and it is a real celebration."

  • "Took my fiance and some friends here for his birthday dinner on a weeknight and was pleased with the delicious options for even me (the vegetarian of the group). The salad option is not boring at all and they have extensive food available for the non-meat eaters which I love and then tons of meat floating around the place for the carnivores of the group. Every server is incredibly helpful and nice and assist you in any and all decisions you may need."

  • "Great time, Sorry I had to down rate the food part. As a Minnesota Pork Producer, I am very honest on the pork that I eat. All of the cut of your meat was excellent except for the pork ribs. These were very tough and the flavor was cooked out. They were fresh out of the kitchen so they should have melted off the bone. Please review how you do the Ribs. Again, Thank for the time we had but sorry for the low rated pork ribs. Kevin Estrem"

  • "The food at Fogo de Chao is over the top and this is a fun place to have memorable meal with friends and family. First, it is Brazilian barbecue with a variety of meats (16 different cuts of mean) that covers the entire waterfront and every one of them is excellent. Second, it's the most upscale version of churrascaria I've seen--very nice. Finally, the salad bar is equally fantastic. As this is an all-you-can-eat concept, the challenge will trying to stop."

  • "Pros: Food was great, drinks were great, service was great, salad bar was great. For money and quality of beef, beats The Palm hands down. Cons: Extremely noisy to the point of having to raise one's voice to have a conversation. Didn't accommodate out of the way table request in quieter location. No birthday recognition for my guests although I requested it in my reservation. Server tried to add $60 worth of drinks on my bill. Guess he thought we wouldn't review the bill. For the four of us, it was around $306 plus 15% tip. Extras: 2 capiroskas ($25), 2 bottles of pelligrino ($12), 2 desserts and 4 coffees. ($50)."

The hosts are great with explaining the process... the servers are excellent about attending the table, the guachos have such a great personality... they are fun to chat with; some of them we wished we could have chatted with longer.   • "The service was pretty bad. After we were seated, it was 8 minutes before anyone came over to us, even after that we had to ask for our plates. The meat started coming around & we shifted to red. When we switched back to green no one came by. After 5 minutes, I had to flag someone down, only then the service resumed. This happened again throughout the evening as we were constantly waiting with empty plates for someone to come serve us. After our bottles of wine, desserts & after dinner-drinks we asked for the bill, which we were charged for 3 cappuccinos. I told them we did not have any & correct the bill. The bill came back with 2 cappuccinos, thinking since there was 2 of us. I had to send the bill back again as we did not order any."

  • "As usual, the service was very pleasant...when it was there. This time a waitress took our drink order and our request for the chimichurri sauce and disappeared, never to be seen again that night. We did get our first round of drinks, but we had to spend a considerable amount of time flagging down a waiter to ask for another round, and the chimichurri (which didn't appear until 20 minutes later, 5 minutes after we asked yet again). The waiter was very apologetic the second time we asked, so we tipped well, but I can't help but think the waitstaff needs both more hands on deck and better training/managing to be better organized. The food, as usual, was very good."

  • "I decided to check this out for my fiance's bday after hearing great things about it. Food--great! You will not go hungry or wanting for anything more after this meal. Two days later and I still feel full. I loved everything except the chicken and sausage. Lamb was perfect!!! The only downside was the getting up to go to the salad bar which mostly had cold sides. I was hoping it would be a tad more intimate and getting up to go get sides took away from that a bit. The servers were great, sometimes the guys passing meat seemed bit impatient and annoyed with questions but most were friendly. Only other issue was the noise level--it was so loud in there. Good thing this is somewhere you go no more than 2x a year."

  • "We had a very inattentive server. My wife ordered a bottle of wine and she comes back after about 15 minutes to say they were out of it. She brings back the wine list and then just does not show up for 20mins when we had to flag her for our new order of wine. She brings this new wine after another 10mins. by this time I am almost done with the beer I had ordered..."

  • "food is surprisingly tasty. the salad bar is not only pretty to look at, but very tasty - one of the best i've encountered. and the meat keeps on coming. this is a carnivore's delight. some minor issues - why charge by the bottle for sodas? it seems like a sneaky way to run up the tab - switch to fountain soda with free refills. kudos on the service - very pleasant. all in all, we were all very pleased."

  • "Food and service very good. Different restaurant concept. Waiters go around with different meat choices, which are sliced at the table. Well orchetrated since they don't bump into each other. All the meats (beef, chicken, lamb, sausages) were well seasoned and not spicy. A word of warning - eat the meat first because the salad bar is very, very extensive and desserts delicious. Children under 6 are free and half price 7-12."

  • "While the meat is good they have nothing available for children to eat. They offer half price or $24.50 for kids. My child would eat a small hamburger, plain pasta, or chicken nuggets - none of which are available. I think that many small kids have similar diets. Obviously they have chosen to not accommodate children. Another issue is that they have no fruit at the salad bar. For a $30 salad, I would expect a little better variety."
