  • "Fogo de Chao has a highly unusual concept: letting diners choose from a raft of grilled meats, brought to you on skewers at intervals by a traveling series of waiters going from table to table. You can choose as much or as little as you want. The emphasis is on various cuts of steak, including filet minon, ribeye and sirloin, but the menu also features pork chops, ribs and chicken with sausage. Our party of three found the meats very good, especially the filet minon, which was practically butter-soft. The ambiance is wonderful - it's set in a big room with high ceilings, spacious and beautifully lit. And the service is impeccable, especially from the principal waiter who takes your drink orders and explains the ordering process."

  • "We arrived and were sat promptly but the hostess didn't mention "Happy Anniversary" even though the post it note stuck to the menu said "Wedding Anniversary". The server but didn't mention "Happy Anniversary" even though I pointed at the post it note and made the joke "It must be someone's anniversary". The staff was nice but not trained properly. A wine steward came over and asked if he could help with wine selection. I asked "is this a progressive wine list" and he gave me a puzzled look. I explained to my wife what a progressive wine list while he listened and all he could say was "I suggest a Malbec it goes well with our meat selections". The manager stopped by for a table touch but didn't wish us a Happy Anniversary. Can't recommend."

  • "This place has everything you want to eat. All the meats are cooked to perfection. The zucca was great and chunchier than french fries. The food brought back memories to my Brazillian friend. She was upset that there were no traditional Brazilian deserts. Lots of energy inside."

  • "This place was better than I expected, even from reading other people's reviews. It is *not* just mostly meat: the food bar has a huge variety of other foods, and those were fresh and tasty. Our vegetarian daughter was delighted. But the meats were also fantastic, and everything is all-you-can-eat. Go late for lunch, and plan on skipping dinner!"

  • "The meat served was fantastic but the salad bar and sides weren't. Dressed salad was drenched in dressing, roasted potatoes extremely overcooked and mashed potatoes didn't appear to be made from real potatoes. Not worth the price."

  • "Go hungry or don't go at all. This place is the bomb! The food is awesome, from the steaks to the chicken and ribs. Great wine list and the service is excellent. The salad bar is great too, but Fogo de Chao is the meat eaters paradise. We go every year when we are in Scottsdale for Spring Training and we will continue that tradition."

  • "We visited Fogo de Chao several years ago and had a wonderful experience. This time we brought visiting family to show them one of our Scottsdale favorites and it has lost its appeal. Firstly, the room is too bright and too worn and now looks like a cafeteria. At $50 per person I expect to get the full experience for which I am paying. We had to beg for the accompaniments (potatoes, etc.). The server got very rude when we didn't order the VERY EXPENSIVE bottle of wine he recommended. Some of the meat was so tough we couldn't even chew it (we are not old and have our own teeth). The server had no idea how to - and bluntly refused - to separate the bill."

  • "Our first time at a Brazilian steakhouse. Service was outstanding. Salad bar was extensive and contained some unusual items. Everything was very fresh. It was the part of the meal I enjoyed the most. I didn't try any of the beef or lamb selections but my dining companions did. They seemed to enjoy the filet mignon and the lamb. I tried the pork and chicken options, as did my companions, and we all agreed that they were very dry. I wouldn't return anytime soon but I wouldn't rule out a return visit. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it."

  • "This was my first visit and I took my girlfriend. She is a world traveler and has been to these restaurants in Brazil so that was something I had in my favor. The service was excellent and the food wonderful but don't go wild with the salad bar, I had been warned about that. The picanha was great and the cordeiro outstanding, but the linguica was dry. Also the Brazilian drinks, caipirinha, very tasty but watch out. I would definitely go back"

  • "I had the opportinity to be in the original Fogo de Chao in Sao Paolo Brasil so my expectations are always the highest. Food is very very good including the deserts. It is unfortunate that you still need to chase for the prime cuts. They constantly trying to offer you the lower cuts so we need to keep asking the waitress to bring us the House special and the filet mignon. Deserts are 10+ did not have the Chilean wine we oreded Concha y Toro but they came with a goid recommendation. We found the salad bar not as goid as other times."

  • "They have great food. It was a wonderful environment & the food was absolutely delicious, nothing to complain about there. The service was okay we had to ask for things several times before we actually got them and some things we never did get. However, they were very, very busy so we just chalked it up to that. Prices were high but when you have Filet Mignon brought to your table as much as you can eat along with the other absolutely delicious meat selection they serve directly to u with a simple flip of a card; as well as a gourmet salad bar and a pretty extensive alcohol list well then I suppose it's worth it the pretty penny it costs to go there. If uve never been then it's definitely a place to try for a special occasion."

  • "My boyfriend and I celebrated our Valentine's Day here, and our experience was FABULOUS!! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! Our servers were so polite and attentive, and even though the restaurant was packed they made us feel valued and special. And of course the food was to die for!!! The salad bar has everything you could ever want and then some, all of the meats were cooked and flavored to perfection, and our desert (the Papaya Cream) was a delightful and light finish to a huge and flavor packed meal. Try this place and you won't be disappointed, we can't wait to come back for our anniversary!!"

The salad bar is really awesome but go straight for the carved specialties if you are a meat lover.   • "Novel concept, great proteins...side dishes lacked zest. Slicing meats from skewers is great, but not when the server splashes meat juices on your arm sleeve. Lots of staff, but running all over and shortchange table service. Pricey."
