  • "I like this restaurant for special occasions, love the food, it's a bit pricey so we only come here on special occasions."

  • "If you love meat in all its forms, this restaurant is a little slice of carnivorous heaven on earth. With between 10 and 16 types of meat brought to your table for the slicing you will not go hungry. For those with less meaty appetites their salad bar is first rate with a wide variety of options to mix and match, including excellent cheeses. They will bring a few sides to the table during the meal, but quite honestly the meat is the star of the show, and you will probably only sample the sides before diving back into the meats. Everything is all-you-can-eat, so starve yourself for a day (or three) before coming. We will definitely be back!"

  • "This is the second time coming to this place and both times the meat was bland and even a bit gamey. I'm assume it's because the meat was not too fresh before they cooked it. The chefs need to taste the meat before it is served. Plus there was a long delay before another round of meat servers came by. I waited about 10-15 mins. Texas de Brazil is much better, too bad it's all the way in Vegas. Not planning on going back. Maybe I'll head back to Rei do Gado."

  • "The service was simply the best we've ever received during lunch! This place is outstanding, from food to service to decor. Waitstaff really know their stuff, and easily memorize your preferred meat after the first round. Everyone was prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious! We've had both lunch and dinner, and the food has always held above and beyond standards. Quality of the meat is delicious, juicy, and flavorful. Salad bar is fresh and has plenty of options. Will be coming back for sure!"

  • "This was our 2nd time here (birthday celebration) and it was even better than last time! The cocktails are amazing (try the Ketel / citrus one or super fruit), great choices on salad bar (don't fill up), even the cheese bread is melt-in-your mouth delicious. But of course the meats are the highlight - bacon wrapped filet was our #1! And to top it all off, free birthday dessert (and kids ate free)!"

  • "The steaks were tasty and the sides were never ending. The salad bar had a variety of choices . It was all good!"

  • "First of all, as soon as you sit down you will be greeted by a server who promptly explains the process, so for first-timers this is very helpful. The first pleasant surprise was the really cool salad bar that you can start with immediately...lots of great choices and very unique, but take it easy, because you have lots more food coming. This brings me to the first pointer, SHOW UP HUNGRY! This is a very nice restaurant with first class service and quality, so it isn't cheap. If you show up with a healthy appetite, it is an excellent value. Side note: Not a good place for the vegan/veggie crowd...this place serves real food (meat). Steak, chicken, pork, sausage..all the good stuff. Great food with world class service."

  • "Hands down one if the best dining experiences I've ever had. The service was impeccable, the food was amazing. Premium cuts of meat ranging from beef, pork and chicken. The salad bar had an array of options to choose from. The ambiance of the restaurant was romantic. I would dine there again in a heart beat."

  • "Fogo de Chao is the carnivore's dream come true. While not cheap, every penny you spend is well worth it; the quality and selection of meats they offer are beyond expectation. The salad bar is also excellent; notably, their asparagus is surprisingly delicious."

  • "This place reminds me of the great qualities of dining in fine restaurants in Mexico and South America: very, very good food, and exquisite service. You feel pampered and cared for in this restaurant. The food is excellent. This is a great spot for business and special occasions."

  • "Food and Service was amazing! It was a little Pricey with the dessert and dinner for 2 a little over $150 not including tips and we don't even drink Alcohol... Otherwise it was a great experience. will Be back again but Maybe Lunch time when its half the price..."

  • "Meat selection was great but the cost was a little extreme. Expect to spend $150 with drinks. Dinner alone is $100 without drinks. Salad bar was fresh but not exciting. Good place if you want something new otherwise Head to the butcher shop or other steak house."

  • "There is no question, the best Restaurant in San Diego Down Town. People there are so friendly, they also give you your space for having a great time for dinning. Classy restaurant, fresh and elegant environment. Authentic flavor, perfectly grilled,... all cuts, whether it is lamb, pork, steak, chicken, they are all seasoned the right way. You won't regret this place."

  • "This place came highly recommended and it definitely didn't disappoint. Our overall experience from the ambiance, food and service was excellent. Just make sure to bring your appetite."

  • "I am a frequent Fogo customer and was given a little trouble when I presented a coupon that was emailed to me by Fogo for my birthday. The staff was very polite but it made me feel so awkward in front of my date when the waiter said he had no idea where I got such a coupon because he had never seen one before. The manager was called to my table and he asked me to forward my email coupon to the restaurant probably to make sure I wasn't trying to cheat them out of $25. Other than this slightly awkward ordeal, everything else was fantastic as usual."

  • "Service was very slow. I've been to other locations. I've always enjoyed myself, but this location disappointed a little, which was too bad because it was the first ever visit for my companion. Food was pretty good, but the sides (polenta, potatoes) were brought out barely above room temp."

  • "Everyone was great. We made a reservation for 12:00 and was already set at 11:30. Everyone was very informative about how it works and where everything was. Thank you for making our day special :) will be returning soon !!"

  • "The tables are jammed together. There were several large groups of rowdy patrons mixed in with smaller tables of couples and four tops...not enjoyable. Many families with small kids running around the restaurant...parents oblivious... Consider this a McDonalds dining experience, but with an all you can eat buffet and meat service. NOT FINE DINING !"

  • "Went on the night before vday. Restaurant was about 1/3 empty. Servers were confused and lost. Service was bad, our drinks never showed up. Getting the bill took a good 20-30 minutes. And we could hear the servers confuse about which table was which. Food was good but service definitely took away from experience."

  • "We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated right away. The tables were close together, but the decor and ambience were nice. Since it was our first visit, our server explained the process to us and offered a V-Day appetizer option. Our appetizer was brought out quickly. There were a few things at the salad bar that didn't have a sign identifying them, but the selection was great. The gauchos came by pretty regularly. We were nearly full of meat when we realized the drinks and sides still hadn't come. We flagged someone down and she "found" our drinks and assured us the sides would be out shortly. All in all, it was a great experience. The few minor issues we had paled in comparison to the quality of the food and the great service."

  • "We went to Fogo De Chao for the first time on February 13, 2014. We were seated immediately and, right from the beginning, the personal service was wonderful. They helped my wife select a wine, knew their bar selections and were able to offer variations on the Crown Royal I ordered. The salad bar was fresh and delicious. As soon as we turned over our dining coaster to green, they delivered cheese mashed potatoes, fried banana, and polenta, all wonderful. Then came the meats - Steak, pork encrusted with parmesan (our absolute favorite), bacon wrapped chicken and bacon wrapped filet mignon (second favorite), pork, ribs (we were too full for them) and so much more. By far the best restaurant of this type we have been to. We loved it."

  • "First of all, service, WOW. Wiping off crumbs, pushing in chair when you rtn. to your table, checking if you need anything w/o being intrusive. Having been to both Fogo de Chao and Rei do Gado, comparisions can't help but be made. F d C wins: Location, less busy part of downtown, easier parking (timed right, just a few quarters). Service, see above. Meat Preference, choice of rare to medium Layout / Space, much easier to get around salad bar Sides, a few brought directly to table R d G wins: Flavor of meats slightly better Selection from salad bar, far more choices All said, both are excellent choices."

  • "Recently opened, Fogo is a Brazilian churscarria or steak house. You pay a fixed price and it is all you can eat for salad and steak. Wine, coffee and dessert are extra. The food was excellent, service was very attentive and has a great wine list. Great for a special occasion."

  • "Have been to three Fogos in three cities. They maintain the excellent food and service characteristic of the chain. The main attraction is the array of roasted meats, but the salad table was replete with cheeses and vegetables not to be missed."

  • "Very nice meal with some high quality, well prepared meats in a traditional Brazilian steakhouse format. The servers were nothing short of excellent! An entree for $49.50 should rank up there with the best meals in a lifetime - this wasn't all that."

  • "My son and I went for lunch last week. It was my second visit and his fourth. We were not disappointed. We liked it much better than the one in Beverly Hills. The service was amazing. The meats came around in a timely fashion and if we asked about one we hadn't seen yet, they found it for us. The salad bar was restocked often and CLEAN. Wish there were more specials during the year."

  • "I'm basing this off of our SDRW experience, but I'll try to extrapolate what a typical experience here is like. I thought the availability of the meats is so timely and convenient, it is impossible to not get your preferred cut. Waves are frequent and overwhelming, buyin allows you to always have your choice. Fogo is a very spoiling experience, and it should impress anytime it's a rare visit. The pao de queijo is flawless!"

  • "I had tried to make a reservation the first week of restaurant week but they were booked. So I made a reservation for the second week. And it was outstanding . Meat was incredible the salad bar was just enough and they make these to die for rolls. Which comes with the meal as does mashed potatoes, fried yuck, and fried bananas. We all loved it and can't wait to go back.."

  • "Just like the title. We went around Christmas time expecting something really great and it was not what we expected for the price. It was good but not great. We tried all of the meats but nothing really stood out. We also had the salad bar and there was also nothing there that was really great. All was just ok. The best part was the dessert. Our final bill ended up being over $150 two adults and one child. It took 20 minutes to finally get my credit card back after trying to pay. We were told the computers went down so if felt we were kind of held hostage at this point. Nothing was offered for the inconvenience."

  • "I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. It's not the normal buffet style restaurant but much better. After starting with the salad bar, they bring your main course (meat) to you. There are several selections on the menu and servers roam the room with the meat which has been cooked on a large skewer. They slice off your portion right at your table. This makes all your food exactly as you would like it and it's hot. Definitely a restaurant I will return to in the future."

  • "We book our reservations for restaurant week during lunch time. The restaurant was not prepared for the amount of people that had reservations. We arrived 15min early to check in, we were seated about 20min after our reservation. We were seated in the back of the restaurant. It took awhile before we were servered any of the meats. The server noticed that the guys carrying the skewers were not going to the tables at the back of the room and went and brought them to the tables in the back. It was nice of the servers to make sure that they came to us."

  • "I booked this restaurant from the restaurant week page and then once there they tell us it's not part of restaurant week on Saturday. This was not made clear when I made the reservation. I was very upset!"
