Diner Reviews
  • "What a great time at Fogo! Came with an appetite and left in need of strechy pants. The meats were amazing as always. Highly recommend the Lumbo (parmesan pork) and filet mignon in bacon...yummy! Great dinner, not cheap, but what a great way to sample a bunch of different cuts and meats. Awesome salad bar, but rookie mistake is to fill up there (easily done)."

  • "This was my first visit and I will go again. There is a tremendous amount of food that was overall tasty and cooked to requested tempatures. A bit on the pricey side but the service and quantity of food make it close to justifiable. This was an enjoyable evening."

  • "service a little offf and no grilled pineapple at end which was a bummer"

  • "We had a great time at Fogo. Prime cuts of meats were delicious. The service was outstanding. It's high priced, but good value for the money."

  • "We were not in the main area of the restaurant but in one of the secluded rooms around the main area. As a result the waiter forgot to bring the side dishes and also some of the waiters that serve the meat forgot to stop by frequently so we didn't get to try all the meats. The food was good though and so was the wine. Better value for money than Morton's - The Steakhouse"

  • "Three of us on a business trip to San Antonio decided to give this a try. Great food and incredible service. Very nice staff. We really had a wonderful evening"

  • "The idea of trying a bunch of different cuts of meat instead of settling on only one is really intruiging, and Fogo de Chao pulled it off spectacularly. The staff is very friendly, the wine list overwhelming (in a good way), and the salad bar comprehensive. Unfortunately, the steaks, while good, weren't mind blowing, and my "medium" cuts were quite well done. That said, the leg of lamb was the best I've ever had—an absolute must. I would highly recommend this place, if not for the great food, then at least for the experience."

  • "I have been to several Fogos and am always pleased with the quality of service and food, something that has not been the case with restaurants like The Palm. Fogo is always a treat, and this location is so convenient to the Riverwalk! I'll be back in San Antonio for another conference later this year and will definitely eat at Fogo again."

  • "We went to Fogo de Chao for my husband's birthday. The food was amazing as always and they didn't charge for our dessert. The staff is so attentive. I love Fogo de Chao!"

  • "Very good food & great service. What I've come to expect from this reasturant."

  • "This is modestly better than an Old Country Buffett. One cavernous room with a view of the mall. Staff and customers rushing by to reach the buffett. Flip you card over and the skewer comes fast; but you must wave off several to get what cut you are looking for. This place has the ambiance of a Nascar pit lane. The only situation I would see this concept working is for large informal business groups - all the same price and loud. If you are thinking about an evening for two or four this is NOT the place. Service was terrible from reception to obtaining the bill."

  • "San Antonio Fogo - I thoruoghly enjoyed the Fogo do Ciao in San Antonio. This was my 3rd visit and hope to visit again in the future."

  • "Our reservation was for 9:30pm on Valentine's day. We had dinner with a couple we knew. Everything was wonderful. The food, the drinks, the cappuccino, the Brazilian lemonade. I couldn't have chosen a better restaurant for our date."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Granted it was Valentine's Day and the restaurant was extremely busy. The salad bar was out of items, the service was slow and our bill was incorrect. I had to go to the hostess to ask for the bill to be corrected, since our waiter had disappeared."

  • "Excellent dining treat. First time guests who obviously did not learn NOT to eat too much from the salad bar as the meat just kept coming. And it was GOOD! Great experience and will definitely go back."

  • "$30 per person during lunch and the same menu as dinner makes this pricey meal a little easier on the pocketbook. The quality of the food is well worth the price tag."

  • "I think service and meal was not we enjoy always at FdeCh due to all people coming for dinner, it was a crowded place with poor service. Picanha was served just two times at our table and lamb just one and it happened after ask for that several times. My family and I ate fast and were nor happy as always."

  • "We have always been fans of Texas de Brazil but after reading all the great reviews for Fogo we decided to give it a try. The good is not as good and the overall atmosphere is lacking. We won't be back."

  • "And my wife and I certainly do love meat. As with most of these Brazilian style restaurants, you can expect plentiful and frequent delivery of top quality cuts of meat to your table until you tell them to stop. The servers were very attentive and didn't seem to keep anyone waiting with an empty plate. All of the food was perfectly prepared and of top quality. Even the salad bar was packed with flavorful vegetation, meats and cheeses. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. My only minor complaint, near the end of the evening, was that we had to ask three people (original waiter included) for the check before it arrived after about 15 minutes. Overall, this is a great destination for carnivores seeking an ultimate meaty experience."

  • "I recently moved back to San Antonio, TX after living in Phoenix for the last 10 years. My wife and I would enjoy Fogo de Chao in Scottsdale, AZ (a suburb of Phoenix) on a regular basis and really enjoyed it. So we naturally thought the service level would be the same here is San Antonio, TX. We we wrong. The one here in San Antonio,TX had burnt bread and slow service. Every time we have went to Fogo De Chao in Scottsdale, AZ our side dishes were always refreshed and the bread was fresh never burnt. The San Antonio Fogo de Chao had the great meats and sides, but the service was and is lacking. The meat servers missed several green indicators and just try to get through the dinning room as quickly as possible."

  • "This was our first time at Fogo de Chao and it was excellent for Thanksgiving. We will go again when we are in a city where there is a restaurant."

  • "We waited 15 min.for meat . We sat with nothing on our plates many times. Good food bad service. We spent 250.00 for 4 people you have an expectations of better service . There are other Brazilian steak houses in San Antonio that might have better service we will see."

  • "We chose this restaurant for its unique selection of roasted meats and poultry. Excellent service by the "gauchos" who slice off the servings of steak, pork, or chicken as much and as often as you wanted. A clean salad bar and excellent wait staff. Drinks are overpriced for the serving size; a blended mojito in a 6-8 oz tall glass, cost $12.50. Drink list did not provide prices so ask first before ordering to avoid surprises. This was a holiday special (Thanksgiving), so the price per person ($42.50) was probably compensation for all the wait staff on duty that day. Still, a unique restaurant, but very loud with an open seating plan, so don't plan anything of an intimate event here."

  • "Nothing quiet or private about the dining experience. Was bumped by wait staff and servers throughout the meal. Too many tables packed within a small space. Asked for an out-of-the-way table during the reservation process. Instead, was seated in the middle of the room amidst large groups and directly in the path of the buffet line."

  • "All you can eat meat fest! For those that have not eaten at a Brazilian steak house be aware that this is a different way of dining. I'm sure other places on the internet will discuss how these restaurant work, I will just relay my experience. The food at the all-you-can-eat salad bar was quite good. Better in fact than the meat(s) that are served at the tables. Note: this is not Morton's. This is more like a Benihana version of Morton's. Interesting way to eat. Excellent service. This is not where I would go when I want an excellent meal. I would not take my best clients here, but for sure, I would take my B-list clients here."
